The darkness of that otherworldly dimension wrapped around Kazuki like a suffocating shroud as soon as he closed his eyes again. He wasn't surprised.
"Twice in one night, huh?" Kazuki muttered, staring up at the familiar patch of sky where only a pair of immense, monstrous eyes glowed, watching him."Alright, what do you want this time? Say it quick."
The Chaos Spirit's voice rumbled through the void like a thousand storms speaking at once."Answer this, mortal."
Kazuki crossed his arms, his eyes sharp and unflinching."Ask first."
A cold stillness lingered in the air for a moment before the voice spoke again."What will you do… after you achieve all your goals?"
The question hung there, heavy, ancient, terrifying in its simplicity.
Kazuki didn't answer right away.
A long silence.
And then…"It's none of your concern," Kazuki finally replied, his voice quiet but edged like a blade.
The Chaos Spirit's massive eyes narrowed, glowing brighter with sheer rage, their glow illuminating the endless black sky. The voice dropped to a deadly, dangerous tone."You dare speak so to me… after I was the one who dragged you into this world?"
Kazuki smirked, a hint of defiance in his gaze."Exactly. You're the reason I even have these goals. You're the one who threw me into this cursed fate. So why the sudden interest in what comes after? You're the last being who should care."
There was a moment of eerie silence… and then the Chaos Spirit's voice growled, low and menacing:"Yes… you're right."
And then it began.
Agony.
An all-consuming pain like nothing Kazuki had ever felt before. His skin felt as though it were being flayed from his bones. His bones began to rot and shatter while his flesh burned, yet death wouldn't claim him. He felt as though his very essence was being crushed in an invisible press — every fiber of his being screaming in torment.
And still…
He gritted his teeth. Blood dripped from his lips as he forced a smile through the suffering.
"Is that all you've got?" he croaked, a flicker of triumph in his battered eyes.
The Chaos Spirit's eyes narrowed again, unreadable — whether it was rage, approval, or dark amusement, Kazuki couldn't tell.
The pain lingered for one more breathless moment… and then, abruptly, everything went black. But still Kazuki did not died at all due to the Chaos spirit
