...

After my conversation with Aunt Melissa ended, I ate my food in silence. The meal was delicious as always, but I could barely taste it. There was nothing wrong with it—it's just that every bite slid down my throat accompanied by the weight of endless questions.

I left the table and headed toward my room upstairs. My steps were slow, as if the ground had grown heavier beneath me. I opened the door and walked in, then gently closed it behind me. The orange light leaking through the curtains spilled across the wooden floor, as if the sun itself wanted to silently watch me—a witness to a moment that might change everything.

I sat on the bed and let out a long sigh.

"It's not like I never wondered about it before..."

I whispered to myself, staring at the ceiling.

When I arrived in this world, I knew—or at least hoped—that there would be something... something like a status window, like the ones that always appear in manhwas or anime. I had thought of saying the phrase back then… "Status window"... but I stopped myself.

I thought I'd look like a fool. Like a madman whispering nonsense in a strange world that didn't know me. It wasn't that I lacked the courage to be embarrassed—I was just afraid. Afraid that nothing would happen. That I'd confirm this world wasn't like any fantasy I had ever read or watched. Afraid that I was just an intruder—no perks, no powers, no special fate.

I sighed again. Time felt frozen, and the silence weighed on my chest like a boulder.

I sat up straight on the bed, placed my hands on my knees, and stared at the empty air before me, as if bracing myself to face destiny. Then I closed my eyes slowly and spoke in a soft voice:

"Status window."

Seconds passed… one, two, three… I slowly opened my eyes, my heart pounding like war drums in my chest. But nothing appeared.

No light. No window. No miracle.

I gave a bitter, sarcastic smile.

"Hah… of course. What was I expecting?"

I lay back on the bed, hands behind my head, eyes fixed on the ceiling. I took a deep breath, then closed my eyes again, as if trying to hide from myself.

Just another illusion...

I thought.

"A dream that never came true."

But suddenly—

Ding.

A soft, metallic sound echoed in my ears like a distant alarm.

I opened my eyes instantly.

Then… it appeared.

I wasn't dreaming.

Right in front of my face, in the center of the room, a radiant blue light burst forth—neither physical nor illusory. It was glowing, yet it didn't hurt the eyes. Gentle, but emanating power.

It wasn't a dream… it wasn't fantasy. Floating before me was a transparent window, radiating a soft glow like moonlight caressing the surface of a still lake. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I kept blinking as if trying to make sure it wasn't a trick of the eye, but it didn't disappear… it only grew clearer.

I leaned closer, gazing at it with both curiosity and caution, as if standing before a door leading to a truth I had never known. It looked just like the windows I was used to seeing in anime and games—only better. More realistic, more serene, as if it belonged to another world entirely.

Then, in fine script, a line appeared at the top:

[Welcome, User.]

My eyebrows rose in surprise, as if the window was speaking directly to me. Details began to appear, one after another, as if the system itself was recognizing me and displaying my data. I read what appeared with wide eyes, my mind racing to keep up.

[> Level: 1]

[Age: 20]

[Gender: Male]

[> Strength: 5]

[Agility: 4]

[Intelligence: 6]

[Luck: 5]

[Wisdom: 4]

[Awareness Level: Unknown]

[> Skills: None]

[Unique Ability: The power to obtain a superpower every week]

I kept staring at the window, trying to absorb every letter. I scanned every detail, word by word.

"Alright..."

I muttered quietly.

"Level one, as expected... I can't be a superhero from the start."

"Twenty years old, male..."

I smirked sarcastically.

"Yeah__thanks for the reminder."

My eyes moved to the numbers.

"Strength five… Agility four… and Intelligence six? At least I have something to be proud of."

Then I looked at Luck and Wisdom, "Five and four... Not bad. I can work on those, right?"

But my eyes stopped at a strange line:

> Awareness Level: Unknown

I frowned. I had never seen anything like that—not in anime, not in games. "Awareness level?" I repeated in a whisper. "What does that even mean?" Self-awareness? Awareness of the world? Of powers? Is it dangerous? Or just a hidden stat? I had no answers, and I wasn't ready to dive into that mystery now. So I shook my head and moved on.

> Skills: None

I sighed. A minor disappointment. I had hoped for something… even a skill like "count to ten really fast!" But no. Nothing.

Then I looked at the final line…

> Unique Ability: The power to obtain a superpower every week

At first, I read it flatly. My brain didn't register it properly. I repeated in a low voice:

"The power to obtain a superpower... every week?"

Wait.

Hold on.

The words froze in my brain. Time stopped for a full second.

"Wait—what?"

I sat upright, eyes widening as if I'd seen a shooting star crash before me.

"Get a superpower... every week?!"

I looked back at the window, rereading the last line—three times, four... it didn't change. It wasn't a dream. It wasn't a mistake.

I took a deep breath, then gasped softly.

"This isn't a joke... this is… a real ability!"

A chill ran down my spine. My emotions tangled between shock, awe, joy, and nervousness. I had thought I was just a weak human lost in a strange world. No skills, no path.

And now... now I had something I never even dared to dream of.

One power each week… superpowers… and I keep them? I gain a new one every week?

I reached out toward the window as if trying to touch it. I felt its warmth—its strange warmth. As if the entire world had shrunk into that glowing blue square.

"But… why me? What does this mean? Do I get to choose these powers? Or are they given to me? And… is someone watching?"

A flood of questions crashed through me all at once, just like waves shattering against a rock in the middle of the sea. But I didn't have the luxury of finding answers now.

The only thing I knew at that moment…

…was that my life was about to change.

Forever.
