The air reeks of blood and death, so Dough casted another spell. He wipes his blade clean of the blood with the leaves from the trees.
The two, after collecting all the ears of the trolls, headed out of the forest.
Meanwhile somewhere else...
Near the Crater created by Dough's breath attack
Near the Forest of Tob
A team of Silver ranked adventurers were walking along a path to Carne village. Their mission was to gather some rare ingredients only found in the Forest of Tob.
Roka, the team's ranger, smells something burned but at the same time it smelled like dusts up ahead.
"Stay alert, there is something up ahead," Roka conveyed to his teams as they all became vigilant, moving slowly forward.
After reaching the top of a hill, they saw it, a giant hole in the ground. It looked like the gods themselves passed divine judgement upon this area, tearing away even the rocks beneath them, making it cracked and left powderily dusts on the ground.
"What could have done this?" Hugo, the team's leader, questioned as he examines the destruction. He is shocked right now due to the destruction. The others have no response since they did not know who or what could have enough power to completely wipe an area, comparable to a section of a town, clean off.
"Let's report this back to the guild," Roka proclaims. He is not paid enough for this quest. He's not going to risk his life trying to follow whoever or whatever did that.
The team then decided to head back to E-Rantel.
Back With Brain and Dough
E-Rantel
When the two got to E-Rantel, the first thing Dough did was buy as many spare clothes as he could for himself, so he does not have to be naked whenever he untransformed. He will buy more clothes for the villagers after he gets enough money from the trolls they killed.
The two then headed to the Adventurers Guild.
Dough helps Brain register. By help, he means paying the guild receptionist money to fill out the form for Brain, allowing him to join his team. It turns out Brain could not read either.
After handing the ears over as proof of their kills, Brain and Dough were told to wait as the receptionist goes to tell the guild master. After a while, the two were told to head to the guild master's office.
Pluton Ainzach is a mighty and majestic middle-aged man. His graying hair reflects the stress he had to endure at just age thirty in his position.
"Sorry for the delay, Gentlemens. I had received some troublesome news regarding a massive crater that appeared near Tob Forest," Ainzach proclaims as eyes the two as they enter the room.
"My name is Pluton Ainzach, the guild master of this branch in E-Rantel, but please, call me Ainzach," Pluton Ainzach said as he introduces himself.
"My name is Dough," Dough said, plainly and without saying anything else that would give Ainzach information about where this man came from.
"The name is Brain Unglaus, a swordsman who pledge to follow this guy for now," Brain said as he pointed to Dough.
"I heard the two of you manages to slay the Gaint of the East, which would be considered a danger level of 63," Ainzach started as he carefully observe the two of them, to see if he can spot any sign that what he just said was false.
"It was mostly him, sir," Brain said as he easily handed the credit to Dough since he does not like to take credit for something he barely helped in. Since he is going to become the strongest swordsman in the world, he will earn that through his own effort.
"I see. And how did you manage to do that, young man," Ainzach said as he fully focus his gaze upon Dough.
"Well, I had this blade, The Thousand Demon Daggers, which allows me to do this," Dough said as he slowly made the blade break down in thousands of pieces, which he controls and made them fly around himself.
"I could also use 4th tier spells," Dough said, hoping that would elevate his ranking.
"I see," Ainzach said as he was slightly shocked that such a young person master 4th tier magic and still uses a sword. He might be a genius from the Slane Theocracy.
"Would you show me one of these 4th tier spells outside?" Ainzach asks as he wanted to confirm 100 percent that the man before him is not lying.
The three of them then went to the back of the guild where they usually assess an adventure's strength to allow them to advance.
"Hit that target over there," Ainzach said, pointing to a target in the distance. It was a wooden dummy that was about 20 meters away.
"Grand Fireball," Dough chanted as he unleased the spell, which was a tier higher than normal fireball. The fireball exploded and the explosion radius almost reaches them. It was stronger than Dough expected.
Ainzach was shocked, having never before seen the 4th tier spell, Grand Fireball, to be so destructive. Well, 4th tier magic users were rare, but he has seen enough to know that the person standing before him is equivalent to an Adamantine Rank adventurer.
"I think I have seen enough. Your power is comparable to Adamantine Rank adventurer, but I can't just promote you to that rank without enough achievements from you two or there will be unrest. The next best rank I could grant your team is Orichalcum," Ainzach said.
"That will be good enough, Ainzach," Dough said as he really did not expect to become an Adamantine class adventurer through just killing the giant of the east.
After receiving their new rank, the two decided to take a quest close to Carne Village. Since neither of them could read, they had to go up to the receptionist to ask her what the highest tier quest near the Tob Forest is. Before heading off to Carne, Dough bought many items, including potions and clothes for the villagers from the money they gain from the trolls.
'It's time to meet more of my kind,' Dough said as they exited E-Rantel. They would be great source of experience.
