Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 - The Laws of Magic

Tangen smirked. "Alright, listen up, kid. I can't show you magic since I'm not that good at it, but I can explain it."

Maxi nodded, leaning forward.

"Magic comes in different forms. First, you have the elemental magics—Fire, Wind, Water, and Earth. Pretty basic, right? But then there's Arcane magic—this is the kind of magic that comes from dragons, mermaids, and other magical creatures. Humans can't naturally use it because our bodies aren't built for it. See, we have a special organ attached to our throat, wrist muscles, leg muscles, heart, lungs, and stomach. This organ absorbs magic and converts it into mana so we can use it safely for casting magic and using your blessing powers if it requires it."

Maxi nodded again, absorbing the information.

"Now, there's another category called Adrian magic. This includes stuff like Holy Magic, Necromancy, Curses, and other strange types. Humans can use these, but they don't fit into the elemental system thats why thier in a different category. There's another reason for that, which I'll explain later."

Tangen paused, taking a deep breath. "Alright, now let's talk evolution paths."

"Each elemental magic starts in its base form: Earth, Fire, Wind, Water. But the more you use the magic, the more it adapts to you. If you prefer using Water magic for slicing attacks, it may evolve into Ice magic, or it may remain the same. If you enjoy defensive Earth magic, it might turn into Iron magic or not. Wind users who like launching themselves around might develop Flight magic. Fire users who favor big explosions could awaken Explosion magic, or it may not it really depends on you, and the number of ways your magic can evolve is almost unimaginable."

"Magic is complicated—it requires focus, quick thinking, and imagination. The possibilities are an ocean filled with strange, mythical fish. And that's not even including Adrian magic!"

Maxi's mind spun at the possibilities but .

"But it does take a while for your magic to evolve it takes a couple of years or so,"

"You can also combine spells—if you have enough mana. And yes, Adrian magic can evolve, too. Even elemental magic can adapt further if pushed hard enough. But here's the kicker—your best magic depends on the weather you were born in."

Tangen hesitated, sighing at his own poor explanation.

"Okay, bear with me, kid. If you were born on a cloudy, windy day, then Wind magic will come easier to you. This is why Adrian magic is in a separate category—it doesn't follow these same elemental rules unless under special condition, which only happens in rare cases."

He leaned back.

"And yes, the stronger the weather, the stronger the talent in that elemental magic. That's why I always say keep an eye on tanned people. You might call me a 'magicist,' but let's be real, it's true 90% of the time."

Maxi chuckled at that.

Before he could ask a question, Tangen cut him off.

"And before you ask something stupid like, 'What if someone was born in all strong weather types combined?'—you already know the answer."

Maxi shut his mouth, smirking.

"Now, let's talk casting methods. You can cast magic in three ways:

1. Chanting – For beginners. It helps you focus and makes the spell stronger.

2. Silent casting – For people not that experienced. It's faster and harder for enemies to detect.

3. Magic circles – for the normal kind of experience people. These duplicate previously recorded spells and are mostly found in magic libraries or grimoires."

4 ritual magic - I have no idea

Tangen ran a hand through his hair.

"As for magic wands, some people can cast magic with their bare hands. But most people use magic-resistant gloves to stabilize their spells. Others need a medium—like a wand—because their mana won't work properly without it. For them, it's a necessity. For everyone else, it's just an option, so like 40% of everyone in Pelady needs wounds."

He clapped his hands together. "And finally—your god's blessing also affects what magic you're best at or genuinely can use since some magic needs some gods' blessings l."

Tangen grinned. "Any questions, my dear student?"

Maxi had a lot of questions. But one thought rose above all the others.

He hesitated for a few seconds before slowly asking,

"Who are the gods blessing me?"

Tangen smirked. "Alright, listen up, kid. I can't show you magic since I'm not that good at it, but I can explain it."
