Chapter 19 - Weird Dream

Yugong breathed a sigh of relief.

"Finally, it's done!

My spiritual sea should be stable.

From now on, my cultivation will focus on expanding the spiral spiritual sea and fill it with spiritual power.

The wind mark is an unexpected gain.

Although it can't help my cultivation grow very much, as I still require the normal rest time after each cultivation, at least recovery of spiritual power is important.

In the forest, being weak, injured and exhausted are the greatest sins, causing all beasts to turn against you.

Still, I probably need to test the effect.

Especially the concentration – in exchange for the faster recovery, one has to focus deeply on the absorption, unlike normal cultivation.

Well, I will probably have to ask Yiye and Lingyue for their experience, compare it with mine and then find out the difference to know whether this wind mark is worth using."

After saying this, he stood up.

There wasn't a feeling of stiffness or anything – rather, Yugong felt very relaxed, as if he had a massage that softened his bones.

Still, he habitually stretched and then instantly fell into the position of the eight trigrams palm art.

"Haha, I'm too used to stretching in the morning and training, now after meditation, I feel like I should stretch and train too!

Well, it's not a bad idea to have a habit to practice.

Later, when I start the wind movement technique, I can switch to that.

Although the eight trigrams art isn't a cultivation technique, one can say that as a technique that was passed down for thousands of years in the mortal world, it is quite a good one.

Maybe there's a chance to integrate it later on…"

Yugong started fantasizing as he practiced the eight palms, one after another.

His bow was still part of the training.

Even during his cultivation, it was right next to him, in case he needed it.

Just how a swordsman would sleep with his sword, a hunter would never leave his bow.

After all, for both of them, their weapon is just as important as their hands.

Without a bow or sword, they will starve and die.

Yugong trained and slowly felt dizzy.

This wasn't because the training was intense.

Especially not after he cultivated.

Yugong still felt that his body had immense power.

As there was no comparison, he didn't fully know his realm, but he knew that he was a cultivator now.

The most important thing in the qi refining stage is refining qi, which is a big step from the mortal body.

Even under these circumstances, Yugong was dizzy.

The reason was simple – the initial energized state was only an illusion, one thing Yugong didn't know.

So, with the movement of his body, he quickly realised that although his body might be full of energy, his mind was absolutely not.

"Well, it's not a bad time to sleep!"

He said, not knowing what time it is.

Cultivators don't look too deeply at the time, less so when they aren't busy.

When going into seclusion, time is the least important thing, so there is no time telling tool in the cave.

Feeling that time didn't matter, Yugong was free and just walked to the side.

There was a large wooden mat for him to sleep on.

From the outside, it looked a bit hard.

But once you lay on it, you will quickly feel the touch of heaven.

Rather than wood, it felt like a soft bed that would support one's back, cool in summer and hot in winter.

"Really… who says cultivators don't know how to enjoy themselves!

People only look at the superficial but ignore the fact.

Although the aesthetic of cultivators is a secluded hermit, this doesn't really make their life difficult.

After all, we all cultivate immortality – we live for so long, and experiencing bad bedding for a hundred years might cause inner demons.

Maybe the buddhists train in this to create an environment of mind cultivation…

Well, the sword sect should also train the mind, right?"

Yugong thought about this, then shook his head.

"Buddhists will train their mind in their own ways, and sword cultivators rely on different matters.

Fighting is training for sword cultivators, which is something buddhists won't do.

Living in discomfort or poverty is a kind of training, but sword cultivators won't do it.

After all, one is cultivating the suffering and saving of people…

The other is cultivating the sword to fulfil their own desires!

Well, in this perspective, the buddhists do seem more generous…

Then again, we all have selfish thoughts, we cultivate hard and want to become strong, if it wasn't because of our selfish thoughts, we would all wake up one day an become buddha."

Yugong joked around a bit.

Whenever he thought of sword cultivators, it was a bit difficult for him to not joke about them.

After all, after reading so much in his past life, he had a sibling relationship with the sword.

Every protagonist would have a sword, so he was familiar.

With so many, it become annoying.

"Siblings are really well summarised in two things: familiar and annoying!"

Then he thought about something and said "Well, one day when I meet scholars in the mortal world, I will tell them to write a story of a glorious hunter who only ever used his bow and arrow!

I will make sure to spread this idea far and wide, so that the bow is just as popular as the sword!"

He joked a bit more as his eyes closed, falling on his bed.

That night, Yugong had a dream.

He saw himself in a vast world, standing on the moon.

Next to him, there was a beautiful woman, she was looking down with him at the moment.

Before he could spent another glance at the woman, he saw a half giant running on the ground below.

Although the distance was great, thousands and millions of kilometres away on the ground below, he could still see the figure of tall person with a unique appearance.

Right as he looked at him, he saw the buff man pulling a bow from behind.

After the bow came an arrow, being strung to the bow without any pause.

He pulled the bow and targeted a place far away.

Yugong looked over and saw ten small suns, they were only a few hundred metres large, not comparable to the huge sun across the moon he was standing on.

The buff man fired the strung arrow.

A silvery light crossed great distances and hit the first of the ten suns.

Right there, Yugong woke up, with a confused look in his eyes.
