Chapter 12 - Finally awake

~Next day~

In the hospital, the kid still lay there on the bed silently, his eyes closed tightly like he was going through some nightmare,

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

His heart rate suddenly skyrocketed, but in the next second it went back to normal.

BEEP ~~~ BEEP

"Ugh," the kids grunted in sleep, under the oxygen mask, and opened his eyes slowly,

Under his eyelid instead of crystal green eyes it was pure shining golden eyes but the kid didn't know that, as he continues to get up, with difficulty,

After finally sitting up, the kid removed the oxygen mask from his face and looked around the room.

Then he turned his face down and muttered some words in a low voice.

"Was that a dream?" he asked himself. "Maybe it was. After all, there's no way someone could overtake the body of someone else," he said—but suddenly went quiet.

"Hmm… but this is a world where Gods once used to live—now supernatural beings with the power to topple nations and continents and—"

But before he could continue talking to himself, he suddenly felt an unbearable headache.

"Ugh," he grunted, bringing his bandage-wrapped hand to his head, holding it to ease his pain.

The headache continued, and with it, some memories entered his mind. The memories flooded in, bringing immense pain, but the kid stayed strong—showing the resilience of an adult, if not even better.

After a long ten minutes of continuous headache, it finally stopped—along with the influx of information.

From all those memories, two lines stood out the most in his mind right now:

'Observation God or God of Absolute Sight.' he thought internally.

"Huh… so I possess the bloodline of the God of Observation," he said to himself, bringing his small hand in front of his face and looking at it in disbelief—and also with some excitement.

After all, no matter how much abuse he had gone through or how mature he acted, in the end, he was still a child—just eight years old.

An age where children are carefree and stress-free—but he was not.

Living in that house with his parents had taught him one thing: always be careful of your actions. After all, if he wasn't, he'd get the beating of his life.

'But how?' he thought, not understanding. 'Both of them didn't possess any supernatural power… and didn't even show signs of it,' he thought, placing a hand on his chin, deep in thought.

"Ohh wait," he said out loud, remembering some old memories from that one time on TV.

'We possess those supernatural powers because of the event 130 years ago—a day called the Rain of Meteor.

On that day, many Gods fell into our world, though we still don't know how or why.

But those Gods, after 20 years of staying here, started to establish themselves and began mating with humans,

spreading their bloodlines and powers to their descendants.

There were at least 1,000 Gods.

Then one day, for an unknown reason, every God died.

Fast forward to the current time, and here we are—now possessing their bloodlines and powers.

But not every human has those bloodlines,' those words repeated in his mind.

'And there are some others—called dormant bloodline possessors.

They're called this because they do possess God bloodlines,

but their bloodline is so small compared to their human side that it becomes dormant—

preventing them from having supernatural powers.

Except in very rare cases… where the dormant bloodline awakens under extremely high stress or threats to life.

But those cases are very, very rare.'

The monologue finally ended.

"Am I one of those very, very rare cases?" he said, and finally looked up from his hand—then looked around him, searching for something.

Then he saw the machine next to his bed.

Moving a little on the bed, he got closer to it and looked into the machine's glass, catching his reflection.

There he saw his face—a familiar one—but with one thing different. His eyes were golden in color instead of crystal green.

"Wow," he exclaimed in excitement.

But suddenly, his excitement deflated—and one thought came to his mind:

"...But then—was that dream real?"
