(One day before Yorkland's invasion – Yorkland's National Intelligence Centre)
Several officers gathered in the room, preparing for the upcoming war. The large screen at the front displayed a photo of Susan Deers and her sister. Below the screen, a man with facial burns—Victor Damor—delivered a briefing. "Last night, we received contact from Susan Deers, our best agent and sister of our legendary agent, Natasha." Susan's profile was projected as a 3D figure in the air. "She is the only agent who successfully infiltrated the core of our enemies—Reichland," he added. "The call lasted only a few seconds, attempting to inform us about Reichland's technology."
One man asked, "What technology are we talking about?"
This time, another man seated beside Victor stood up—Richard Deers, renowned as the smartest man in Yorkland. "The human enhancement algorithm," he continued. "It allows a person to respond 20% faster." Murmurs followed as Richard explained the code's capabilities.
"With respect, Mr. Deers, 20% isn't enough to intimidate us," an audience member commented, drawing agreement from others.
"That was just one week ago, sir. Now, with my expertise, I've improved it to 50% faster," Richard countered. Applause erupted. "This is our man!" a voice shouted. Richard pressed on. "My wife… she risked her life to warn me about this technology… and now we've matched our enemies' level." More applause followed as Richard sat down.
Victor then spoke up, outlining the plan. "Thanks to her connection, we've located Reichland's National Research Facility—NRE." A wave of astonishment swept through the room. The NRE was the heart of Reichland, housing cutting-edge technology. Yorkland and its allies had tracked the institute for over a decade. "Finally, gentlemen, this is our best chance to strike back."
The presentation concluded with Yorkland's elite-rank soldiers deciding to launch an attack on the island hosting the NRE. A force of over ten thousand troops was assembled and headed toward Granitz Island.
(Present – Yorkland's Central Command Unit – Flying fleet carrier.)
Victor and Richard arrived with ten thousand troops, including drones, armed men, remote fighters, and other advance weapons. The two, along with other Yorkland elite-rank personnel, were aboard the fleet carrier, commanding the attack. Richard displayed Granitz Island on the screen. "This island has a multilayered barrier that neutralizes all inorganic substances. Our missiles or nuclear power won't work," he said, presenting his analysis results.
"Then we must deploy our soldiers?" a general asked him.
"That's an option, sir, but our soldiers would be forced to fight barehanded. We'd lose," Richard replied. The general then asked for another approach. Richard presented additional analysis data on the barrier's structure. "I've identified the barrier's frequency using the data my wife sent me."
"That's our smartest man!" personnel in the command unit cheered.
"This fleet carrier is equipped with a high-intensity photon blast that will resonate with the barrier, shattering all its layers," Richard explained. He gave the activation code to the weapon team. The general followed Richard's command and activated the photon barrels. "Open the barrels." The barrels on both wings opened, charging power. High-energy photons accumulated, the barrels glowing purple. The crew reported the status. "The beam power is at 98%...99%...100%...Ready to fire sir." The York's general executed the fire.
"Fire!"
Then, two intense purple beams shot straight at Granitz's transparent barrier. A loud noise from the impact spread widely, the sound of heated air around the impact resonating with the barrier's frequencies. Victor, Richard, and York's general observed the situation via the monitor in the command area.
Minutes later, the beams shattered the barrier, piercing the sky above Granitz.
"Photons blast energy at 0%," the analysis team reported.
"We did it. The barriers are down," they confirmed.
"Now, we attack!" the general commanded. Several supersonic jets launched, their missile launchers aimed at the island ahead.
Missiles from the jets fired, aiming to bombard the island. Most were blocked by Granitz's anti-missile materials, while the rest were deflected and fell into the sea. Yorkland's command unit observed the disappointing results.
"They cleared our missiles, sir," the analysis team reported.
"Well, I wouldn't expect it to be easy," the general said, undeterred. "How long until the next photon blast?" he asked, checking the weapon's status.
"100% in 10 minutes, sir," the team replied.
"We keep attacking. Deploy the flying assault unit," the general ordered. Other carriers moved into position, deploying thousands of flying combat robots. Leading the assault unit were Yorkland's two best pilots, Ronnie and Rock Deers, standing by. Ronnie, in a supersonic jet, led the aerial fight, while Rock, in an exosuit, commanded the ground team.
"Listen, Ronnie and Rock, the chips implanted in your bodies contain the latest enhancement software. You'll see and react 50% faster," Richard explained. "Their long-range projectiles will be no threat."
"We'll use drones and assault units to destroy their air forces," Richard continued, outlining the plan. "With the barrier broken down, the ground troops will deploy around the island, aiming to capture townsfolk and retrieve NRE assets." Richard finished explaining the plan. The photon blast energy was now at 20%.
Carrier ships from the sky and sea, surrounding half the island, began deploying the ground assault team. From above, several armed soldiers in exosuits parachuted, while from the sea, ships docked at the least steep side of the island, followed by thousands of troops disembarking. Yorkland aimed to dominate Granitz and seize control of Reichland's technology center.
Yorkland's general aboard the fleet carrier issued a fire command. "Show them who rules this world!"
Gunfire from jets and drones rained across the island, followed by ground troops setting foot on Granitz. The exosuits, enhanced with algorithms for perception and strength, wielded photon rifles.
On Granitz's side, with the barriers down, combat drones and remote aerial fighters launched from the island. The island's secondary defense line activated. The turrets and fire bunkers were up to the surface aiming for the York's aerial fighters.
Yorkland's ground troops, led by Rock, roamed the land toward the NRE. Yorkland's air forces, led by Ronnie in a supersonic jet, opened fire and clashed with Granitz's aerial fighter jets.
The photon blast on the fleet carrier reached 50%, nearing its next powerful shot. Yorkland had gone all out to dominate Granitz Island. It would take time for Reichland's main forces to reach Granitz. By then, Yorkland planned to have compromised the island and secured Reichland's proudest technology—quantum chips—hidden somewhere within the NRE building.
