The meeting turns into commotion so King Armand decides to adjourn the meeting. Everyone left except Selena and her parents.
"What do you think you're doing Selena?" her father asked.
"I don't have the intention to harm our clan and that slayer is not what you think he is. His different
"From this day I disowned you as my daughter." he furiously said and left.
Her mother burst into tears after what he had said to their daughter. She pulled Selena into an embrace and whispered, "I'm sorry for slapping you. I had to… because everyone was watching, and I didn't want them to think I wasn't doing my duty as Queen. But I will always be your mother. Your father's anger will fade—just give him some time. I'm sure he'll forgive you."
She kissed Selena's forehead.
"Thank you, Mother," Selena replied, hugging her tightly as the tears fell.
The quiet time of the mother and daughter was broken. A group of vampires came to their house. They were angry and shouted that Selena should be executed because of her betrayal to their clan.
"Curse her! She must die!" they yelled. "She's a traitor!" They got angrier and started throwing rocks at the house.
"You need to go away and hide. If you don't, our group will kill you. Your father and I will try to talk to them and make them understand. I will send someone to tell you what's happening. Please take Mr. Finch with you to be safe."
Selena hugged her mother one last time, holding on tightly. The sound of angry shouts and stones crashing against the house snapped her back to reality.
"Stay safe," her mother whispered. Queen Aurelia signal Mr. Finch takes care of her daughter and he just nods.
Selena and Mr. Finch hurried toward the hidden exit, the passage she knew all too well. The cold darkness of the tunnel wrapped around her as they made their way through, heart racing, unsure of what would come next.

Drake returned to his apartment after buying some groceries. Just as he was about to open the door, Selena and Mr. Finch arrived, breathing heavily. He quickly opened the door, and they all stepped inside. After they settled on the sofa, Selena began to explain everything to Drake.
"We're in danger, Drake. I'm sorry for dragging you into this mess," Selena said, while looking on the floor. "We didn't have anyone else to turn to," she added, tears welling up in her eyes.
"We need your help, Mr. Nightwalker," Mr. Finch said. "You must leave this place too. The Feral Clan will hunt you down, just like they will hunt Lady Selena."
"Let me pack my things, and we'll leave. We'll figure it out on the way," Drake replied.
Selena and Mr. Finch both sighed with relief at Drake's words.

"My Lord, I have good news to report," one of Lord Vesperian's men said while kneeling down.
"The Feral Clan is in chaos. They've found out that Lady Selena helped the slayer escape, and not only that—on the night of the war, she healed the slayer. Now, her clan wants her executed."
"This is getting exciting, babe," Lady Daphne said with an evil smile.
"Keep spying on them, but don't get caught," Lord Vesperian ordered. "Report everything you get to me."
"Noted, my Lord," the man replied, bowing before leaving to carry out his orders.
"What are you gonna do now?" Lady Daphne asked while sipping a glass of blood.
"You'll see." Lord Vesperian answered and looked out the window.
A knock interrupted their conversation.
"Come in," Lady Daphne called.
An old woman in a black coat entered and knelt before them. "It's almost ready, my Lord," she said, her voice steady.
Lady Daphne jumped up, shouting joyfully, "Whoo-hoo!"
"Then it's almost time," Lord Vesperian replied and the old lady left.
Lord Vesperian and Lady Daphne just smile evilly and think about how they can destroy both humanity and vampires.
