Chapter 10 - "Truth of the Moons: The Greatest Duo"

The leaders of the thirteen planets gathered for the tenth time in the Red Center, where the atmosphere was charged with caution and anticipation.

In the middle of the hall, a huge screen connected directly to the wall of the hall shone brightly, called the "X-Politas," the cosmic screen that speaks on behalf of the Sun, the most complex information system in the solar system, programmed to transmit news and fateful decisions to the planets and their leaders. It possesses the ability to reveal the secrets of the universe based on data flowing from the Sun, but it has no consciousness of its own, rather functioning as a neutral medium reflecting what it sees and monitors.

Nevertheless, despite its enormous capabilities, it remains limited in the face of some mysterious phenomena, and cannot intervene in decisions or express opinions. The leaders rely on the X-Politas to discover developments, but it has a weakness that changed the course of history...

When the meeting began, a warm golden light emanated from the screen, before a calm but majestic voice announced news that might change the balance of power in the solar system:

"Each of you has moons, and they are celestial bodies like you and they are an integral part of your existence, your role is to take care of them as assistants to solve your problems and their role is to serve you with all the power they have, for after all you are the ones who chose their number even before your creation.."

["Moon" in cosmic terminology means "Silent Guardian"]

Silence prevailed in the hall, before Jupiter broke the quiet with his deep voice:

"So, those little ones are called moons..."

Everyone turned to him, as Saturn continued with noticeable hesitation:

"We found many of them and... we also know how to reach them... why..."

The eyes of the rest of the leaders turned towards the two gas giants in astonishment and disapproval, for before that time they never trusted each other, suspicions controlled them and caution was predominant among those fourteen.

But before anyone could ask questions, Saturn continued in a low voice as he looked away, a smile rising to his face this time:

"In the end... they are destined to be our followers... no... rather our assistants in protecting our sun... why..."

A faint whisper rose in the hall, as Uranus furrowed his brows and said sharply:

"So you two know how to find... our moons..."

Jupiter nodded confidently, then began to explain, with Saturn completing for him from time to time. They revealed that moons are not just bodies orbiting their planets, but unique beings with special awareness. Some are hidden in specific places, and others—

After the explanation ended, everyone looked towards the "X-Politas," which glowed again and announced:

"The number of moons specific to each one of you is known to us... prepare to search for them, this is your next mission, guardians of the universe."

But the big surprise was when Venus looked at his name and found no number registered for him. He couldn't believe what he saw and was about to erupt at the X-Politas demanding an explanation, but he quickly hid his shock by feigning indifference, as he is most aware that this screen doesn't make mistakes in such information, contenting himself with a brief statement:

"Tsk, I don't need them."

But Mars was the only one who noticed the contraction in his eyes

"Haaaaa..."

A loud voice rose in the place, to see that the leader of the third planet was looking in complete shock, as if he had seen something that had ruined his mood, and he continued in a less noisy voice:

"Damn, only one moon?! I'm starting to get annoyed with my miserable luck..."

But the X-Politas resounded with a sentence that was engraved in the mind of all those present:

"Yes... you have the worst luck among them, but not because of the single moon..."

Everyone didn't understand what it was referring to, and amidst that clamor, Power's eyes widened with great enthusiasm and he resounded in a loud voice:

"Haaaaa... only one moon?!"

And so, the tenth meeting ended with one decision:

"Each leader will embark on his journey to find his moons..."

Of course, with the exception of the short gray one and that angry red one.

Above the surface of Earth, the blue planet that needs no introduction, the planet distinguished by its diverse terrain and vast oceans, and full of movement and constant change.

Its leader stood in a place filled with snow, on top of an icy mountain peak surrounded by harsh snow winds, sitting cross-legged contemplating with sharp eyes what the X-Politas had told him.

"Jutiper said that those called moons can be reached through special portals that are smaller than the portals for traveling between planets. If this rule is correct, then I must search for the portal that matches the color of my moon..."

He looked down, where he spotted a small circle with a gray color with light brown tints.

"Let's see... it has emerged that my moon is somewhat gray, so this should be the intended portal."

Earth pointed to that small portal, the leader of the third planet didn't hesitate but rushed towards it with confident steps, imagining the long-awaited meeting... how would his moon look? How would they harmonize together to form a duo greater and stronger than everyone?

But the reality was completely contrary to his expectations...

As soon as he crossed the portal, he found himself in a world drowned in frost. The icy winds howled from every direction, and snow covered the giant mountains that extended endlessly. He didn't expect this scene... his moon wasn't supposed to be this deadly cold!

"The temperature here is two hundred times lower than the heat of my planet..."

Earth wandered around, advancing with heavy steps, trying to understand this place, not much time passed until he heard the sound of running footsteps. They weren't ordinary footsteps, but as if their owner was trying to escape their fate... or was rushing towards something unknown.

Earth stopped, then, without thinking, took a fighting stance; it was a strange position, where he extended his left hand backward, while his right fist, which held his cosmic weapon, aimed precisely towards the source of the sound. His feet stuck together, firmly planted on the ice, and his eyes watched cautiously.

And finally... the newcomer appeared...

His features, which expressed severe shock, were familiar but Earth ignored that at first... wait, even his outfit was also familiar...

"Even if I have a weak memory... I cannot forget those serious features... and those distinctive armors... no, this can't be just a resemblance!"

Then, after adjusting his body position, he extended his hand towards his moon saying in a tone full of pride:

"Hello... I will introduce myself... I am Earth, leader of planet Earth, as for you, you are my moon in cosmic form, and my assistant and support in a personal capacity..."

But the other didn't show any expected reaction, instead furrowed his brows and asked in astonishment:

"What? What are you babbling about? I am your moon?! Since when..."

Earth lowered his head and smiled gently, trying to explain the matter without complications:

"This is the wisdom of the universe and I—"

• "Earth... have you gone mad, dude? I am Pluto..."

The bitter cold of Pluto's planet, which is enough to freeze any living being in moments, wasn't able to freeze Earth. But his leader's words, which were launched with a coldness exceeding any frost, were enough to achieve that.

Each word was like an icy arrow that pierced Earth's crystal, who appeared foolish...

Pluto broke the silence between them with a sarcastic laugh, which shook Earth's depths:

"Hahaha no... haha I can't believe what I'm hearing... memory weakness?!

Is this why you thought I was your moon, well... I won't tell anyone what happened as this is embarrassing even for me..."

Earth swallowed his shock, but Pluto didn't spare him and continued saying:

"Didn't you hear what the giants said? The portal that connects planets and their moons is characterized by its fleeting and bright light, and of course, you forgot that..."

Earth stared at the horizon, as if the truth began to sink its fangs into his mind. He felt deadly embarrassment, but tried to maintain his composure.

• "Ah... yes thank you for the information, Butolo..."

• "It's Pluto, you green scoundrel, but I'll tell Charon."

• "What? No please don't do tha— wait, who is Charon, is he one of the leaders?"

Pluto turned his head, and shook it with obvious disappointment as if saying:

"Do you really not remember the names of others?"

• Do you really not remember the names of others?

Oh... he actually said it...

Then he continued his speech in a more serious tone:

"I don't mean the rest of the group, Charon is my first moon..."

And amidst Earth's shock, who didn't expect that Pluto had already found one of his moons in this short time, he jumped up saying:

"Wh... what? You've already found one of your moons... that's great!"

But Pluto's cold tone demolished any trace of enthusiasm in his voice, as his answer wasn't as expected:

"No I haven't found one of my moons."

Earth couldn't interact with those strange words until he continued:

"I haven't found just one of my moons, but found four of them, they are five moons so I'm still looking for the last one... each of them is characterized by..."

Earth got lost in his thoughts, as astonishment dominated his thinking upon hearing that Pluto had already found all his moons while he couldn't find his only moon yet...

He returned to his planet with overwhelming disappointment, but he didn't give up yet, searched without stopping, across deserts, mountains, forests...

Fifty Kais passed, and finally everyone found their moons except the one with bad luck...

He stood on a mountain peak overlooking the sea, his fists clenched, and shouted:

• "Damn it... damn it... I've roamed the planet more than a million times every Kai and no trace of that stupid portal or that trivial moon..."

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.

"Mars hasn't visited me yet so he must be suffering greatly with his two moons..."

But he quickly shook his head, expelling the thought:

"Wait focus on your goal Earth and don't care about others for what history will remember is only what you will offer it, come on get up now and find your moon!"

He looked around, then crossed his arms as he thought deeply... then thought aloud:

"I've searched everywhere and every corner of the planet but I haven't checked the waters...

Seas and oceans cover most of the planet, of course... no doubt about it!"

Then he rose and took that ridiculous position, and with a speed faster than light dove into the depths of the oceans, following his intuition until a bright portal gleamed before him like a star in the darkness of the sea.

A wide smile was drawn on his face as he rushed towards it and clenched his fist with extreme joy, shouting:

"That was much harder than searching on land but it's worth the trouble... well here I am..."

He said as he entered the portal, and as usual upon entering, he found himself in a completely different place; a barren place... covered with a layer of dust and crumbled rocks, its terrain rugged, filled with giant craters.

Earth knew with absolute certainty that this place was the long-awaited moon, after he turned his gaze to a familiar place... his planet was twinkling on the horizon.

But before he could absorb the scene, he felt a light presence... purer and gentler than he had known before. It was different from the presence of the rest of the leaders.

He turned slowly, to find a short person, with calm and pure features, as if they were a reflection of light in clear waters.

Earth couldn't see him at first because of the matching colors of his moon and that person. And after their eyes met, the latter felt a strange nostalgia towards Earth. He looked at him with questioning eyes, then asked in a soft voice, eagerly wanting to know him:

"Who... are you?"

Earth smiled confidently, and answered in a steady voice, summarizing almost everything:

"I am Earth, leader of planet Earth. As for you, you are my moon in cosmic form, and my assistant and support in a personal capacity...

For this, my dear, is the wisdom of the universe, and I am one of its guardians..."

And from here began one of the greatest stories that has passed through history, as these two wrote their names in diamond letters.

It's true that Morv is Earth's only moon, but his strength, loyalty, and devotion to his master equals the entire universe.

After Earth's meeting with his moon, Kais and events passed, and all the leaders worked with their moons to accomplish their missions and protect the solar system.

And with the passage of time, talk began to revolve around the greatest duo, the leader and the moon whose names were engraved in the pages of history as the greatest duo in the solar system.

And after that, everyone gathered again in the Red Center, where the X-Politas screen lit up announcing the end of two cosmic years due to a shocking event that had occurred...

The cold electronic voice of the X-Politas began to speak:

"All tasks of this cosmic year have been successfully completed, and all credit goes to the wonderful planet and moon duality..."

Earth's chest rose with pride, ready to hear his name and his moon's name pronounced before everyone.

But the shock descended like a thunderbolt when the X-Politas completed its sentence:

"Power and Euclidos."

A heavy silence prevailed in the hall. Earth's smile froze midway, while his eyebrows rose in complete astonishment. He began blinking as if he hadn't comprehended what he had just heard.

As for Power, he shouted enthusiastically, waving his fist in the air:

"Haaaah! Oh yes! I knew it! Me and Euclidos are an unbeatable duo!"

Earth didn't utter a word. He just smiled. . he wasn't angry, rather he was pleased for his friend, saying to himself:

"Heh, what a fool I am... of course I'm not alone in this universe."

So who are Power and his moon?
