Chapter 8 - Harasser

The Touch That Changed Everything

The train was speeding through the dark tunnels of the city, its intermittent jolts causing the passengers to sway back and forth. I sat in the corner of the seat, trying to doze off against the black window that reflected my face.

When will I arrive?

I really wanted the reward.

My mind was fixated solely on the reward the system would give me.

Lost in thought, I suddenly felt it—

Two light, warm fingers slowly creeping onto my right thigh.

I raised an eyebrow but didn't move.

Why?

Because I knew exactly what would happen if I suddenly turned around.

I'd see frightened eyes, a hand retreating in shame, and then someone denying everything. Boring. Predictable.

But this time... the touch was too confident. As if searching for something.

I sighed.

I had to use this to my advantage.

Right in front of me was the first heroine, alongside her childhood friend and love interest in the game—

Silvia.

A pale-faced girl with short blond hair and wide blue eyes like a frozen lake.

"Time to act."

I thought to myself.

I tried to feign weakness so she'd save me.

Then, after the incident, we could become friends, and I'd start making my move.

I strained to force out tears, pretending to be desperate as I looked at Silvia, silently begging her to save me.

Silvia responded to my plea and tried to stand up to grab the harasser, but—

A black-haired boy with a flawless hairstyle grabbed her, his hand on her shoulder.

"Mirai, don't interfere in something that's not your business."

He whispered in her ear before pulling her away.

Mirai's last glance at me was filled with apology... and pity.

Why is this bastard interfering?

Though I was furious inside, I maintained my pitiful appearance.

I looked at her like an abandoned child.

I couldn't become her friend, but at least I could make her feel regret.

The touch on my thigh grew bolder. A full palm now, hot, moving toward—

"Enough."

I suddenly turned, my hand coiled like a spring, ready to strike the beast sitting beside me. Ready to hit her—

But someone grabbed her wrist.

A feminine hand, but with an iron grip.

My eyes followed the arm to see a girl I hadn't noticed before.

The second heroine—Elena.

Her hair was black as coal, long and wavy, cascading like a silky curtain down her back.

Her sharp golden eyes and striking appearance stood out.

She looked very different from the game, where she only wore a school uniform. Now, she had on a long black coat that hid her slender frame, with a dolphin-printed hoodie underneath.

When she grabbed my hand, I trembled with excitement.

"Two birds with one stone."

Elena must have thought I was shaking from the earlier situation.

She tightened her grip on the harasser's wrist, making her whimper in pain. I almost pitied her when I saw tears welling in her eyes.

Elena then took my hand and pulled me toward the seat next to her.

I sat beside her in silence. She took out a handkerchief and wiped away a tear I hadn't realized had rolled down my cheek.

[The host must act as an actor.]

A wide smile spread across my lips—this was the first time the system had praised me.

"Do you know him?" she asked me about the harasser.

I shook my head. "No."

With a bright smile, she said, "You can rest easy here."

I couldn't help but smile inwardly.

"Looks like things just got interesting."

End of Chapter.

There is a small note, which is that I will change the image of the novel.
