Chapter 20 - 462

The reason why Senichi had such thoughts was primarily because of his involvement in the early stages, which changed the outcomes of many things.

The most significant change was saving Miyano Akemi. Later, Pisco was shot on the spot because of his action, and the consequences of these actions should have made the Black Organization more vigilant.

Especially Gin, the most hardworking guy in the Black Organization, was the person Senichi feared the most.

Even though he was a geek who knew the plot, he did not dare to take Gin lightly.

Senichi would not be surprised even if Gin made unexpected moves at any time.

So, after experiencing the impact of these previous events, Senichi couldn't guarantee whether Gin would act as in the original work and open the box where Conan was hiding halfway and let Conan escape successfully.

After all, Conan's survival at that time was really just luck, completely dependent on Gin's whim.

And in case Gin became extremely vigilant due to the series of influences earlier and directly opened the door to kill Conan, wouldn't that be a disaster?

Senichi didn't want any accidents to happen, so it was necessary to make thorough preparations to prevent this possibility.

Speaking of preparation, it actually meant putting the disguise props placed in the garage at home into the trunk.

Disguise masks, gloves, spare clothes, elevator shoes, and a series of items for dressing up had long been prepared to guard against such unexpected moments.

After packing everything, Senichi drove to the Hotel New Baker.

Senichi drove fast for fear of missing an important clue and finally found Kogoro Mouri and his group at the entrance of the Hotel New Baker.

"Huh? Detective Senichi, why are you here?"

Kogoro Mouri saw Senichi standing at the entrance as soon as he got out of the car and said in surprise, "Is there a case?"

"No, no. I'm here specifically for Conan-kun." Senichi smiled and said the excuse he had thought up.

"Didn't Dr. Agasa made a football belt for Conan-kun before?

It's quite useful, so I asked Conan-kun to help me bring one. After all, as you all know, I often encounter unexpected events because of my work, so it's just in case."

"Yeah!"

Conan was stunned when he heard this, but knowing that it was Senichi's excuse he nodded in agreement and said, "Detective Senichi sent a text message. I told him we were here, so Detective Senichi rushed over."

"Alright, then quickly give me the belt." Senichi smiled and extended his hand towards Conan, and asked for it.

Upon hearing this, Conan was stunned and somewhat dumbfounded.

Where the hell do I get you a football belt... Wait a minute... Conan lowered his head and looked at his own belt, then looked at Senichi's seemingly smiling expression. He couldn't help but show a face full of black lines.

If Conan still hadn't figured out what was going on at this point, he would be truly foolish.

It was obvious that Senichi was taking advantage of this opportunity to openly mess with him.

Thinking of this, Conan's eyes started to roll, and he began to roll his eyes at Senichi in a crazy manner.

Damn, last time he stole my props, I let it slide, and now he wants to freeload on my props and leave me without a belt!?

Too shameless!

At this point, Conan's brain turned and he directly said "Oh, by the way, let's talk about the belt later, Detective Senichi. Why don't you come up with us!

We are currently investigating a missing game systems engineer case. With Detective Senichi, we should be able to gain the trust of the hotel staff and have them help us open the door."

This statement directly diffused Senichi's "attack move" and brought the topic back to the main matter.

"Conan-kun, it's too troublesome for Detective Senichi..."

Ran quickly picked up Conan and said a bit reproachfully, "Don't casually trouble others."

"It's okay, it's okay. I happen to have nothing to do, so it's fine to accompany you for a trip." Senichi glanced at Conan and sighed, acknowledging Conan's cleverness while going along with the flow.

"Well, thank you so much."

The three people who were accompanying Kogoro Mouri expressed their gratitude to Senichi when they heard that he was willing to help.

By the way, the three also briefly introduced themselves.

First, there was a man with brown hair and a slender figure, Katsumichi Sugai, who commissioned Mr. Itakura to write a Go program.

Second was a half bald man with glasses, Johei Naito, who commissioned Mr. Itakura to write a chess program.

As for the third, it was Ryusuke Soma, who commissioned Mr. Itakura to write a Shogi program. Although he had a similar build to Naito, he had a lush head of hair, and his center-parted hair looked surprisingly good.

As for the professions of the three individuals, they are all employees of a video game company.

"Then, I'll trouble Detective Senichi." Kogoro Mouri walked into the elevator and pressed the open button as he expressed his thanks.

"No problem, just a small effort." Senichi said while deliberately showing his watch, "It's still early now."

"Oh, Detective Senichi's watch looks very unique. What brand is it?" Seeing Senichi's futuristic-style watch, Katsumichi Sugai smiled and said, "It looks quite expensive. Mr. Itakura will probably love it."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Kogoro Mouri asked with some confusion.

"Because Mr. Itakura is very picky about watches, and he always likes to play with other people's watches and appreciate it."

Johei Naito stretched out his wrist, "So you see, all three of us have good watches."

"By the way, are yours real?" Katsumichi Sugai looked suspicious, "Could they be imitations?"

"What are you saying! That's too disrespectful!" Ryusuke Soma objected, "This is a new watch I bought just five days ago!"

"Yours is fake!" Johei Naito also looked angry.

Kogoro Mouri secretly tucked the watch on his wrist into his sleeve and sighed deeply while the three argued incessantly.

The elevator soon arrived at the twentieth floor. Senichi directly found a staff member and explained the situation. Upon learning that it was about confirming the safety of the missing person, the staff readily agreed to open the door for them.

After the door opened, everyone entered the room and saw Itakura lying face down on the table, seemingly asleep.

"Really, falling asleep on the table." Katsumichi Sugai smiled helplessly as he looked at him.

"Indeed..." Ryusuke Soma said indignantly, "Truly leisurely..."

They approach Suguru Itakura to wake him up, but he suddenly falls onto the floor with a gentle shake from Naito.

It was only at this moment that everyone noticed that Mr. Itakura had long transformed into a corpse with a painful expression on his face.
