Cherreads

Chapter 51 - 494

"Mr. Horikoshi, regarding Professor Okabe's words, do you have anything to say?"

After a sharp statement from Rintaro Okabe, the host once again approached Horikoshi for a response.

"I am not reading minds, nor do I possess 'mind-reading abilities.' I simply recite the sequences from the human brain."

"Absurd!"

Facing Horikoshi's words, Rintaro Okabe scolded with a cold face, "How long do you intend to play the clown on stage!"

"Please don't assume that all phenomena can be proven by science!!" Horikoshi angrily retorted to Rintaro Okabe, "That's too arrogant!"

"No! It can be done!"

In response to Horikoshi's roar, Rintaro Okabe countered with his usual madness, "The development of science from ancient times to the present has confirmed this.

If you were to go back to ancient times and use current scientific knowledge, wouldn't that be a miracle!

You, as a charlatan, have no idea how rapidly science is progressing now. The truly arrogant one is you!"

The host immediately forcibly interrupted their words after seeing the two on the verge of a heated argument and steered the conversation towards the next phase.

And this marked the final stage of the live broadcast program.

"If you can really read 'brain sequences,' then try reading mine."

Before Horikoshi began the test, Rintaro Okabe walked up to him and revealed a meaningful smile. "Don't say I didn't give you a chance. If you can retrieve the information from my brain now, you will make the wisest decision."

"Hmph!" Horikoshi sneered at him. "Just playing tricks."

"Anyway, I've given you the opportunity. There's no harm in reading it."

Rintaro Okabe shrugged, "I'll be recalling this information continuously during this time. Feel free to come and read it anytime. This is my final tolerance for you."

"Talking is pointless!"

The conversation between the two once again ended unfriendly. Immediately, the host walked back to the camera.

"Well, let's proceed with the final experiment."

The host spoke with a more serious expression than before while holding a microphone, "Miss S, twenty-five years old, is a white-collar worker in a financial company in the city.

She was working normally on Monday but suddenly disappeared after finishing work in the evening.

From the time of the disappearance until now, almost a week has passed, and there is still no news."

After the host introduced this information, Horikoshi, on the side, had already closed his eyes. And his slightly raised head kept moving, as if perceiving something.

"Is there something?"

The host approached Horikoshi cautiously, "Did you see any images?"

"River, a river..."

The host immediately walked to a giant map prepared nearby after hearing this, "Indeed, there is a river near the apartment where Miss S lives."

"Can you see anything else?" the host asked again.

"Riverbank." Horikoshi's eyes suddenly opened wide, "Boats, many boats are docked near the riverbank!"

The host quickly looked at the director and said, "Please investigate if there is a boat rental house nearby."

"Pen! Paper!! Give me paper and pen!!"

Horikoshi shook his body like a person in a frenzy, as if some strange force was influencing him. Seeing this, the host hurriedly ran to the side and obtained paper and a pen from a staff member, and handed them to Horikoshi.

After getting hold of the paper and pen, Horikoshi hastily started drawing. His drawing skills were terrible, but he wasn't depicting anything particularly challenging. Soon, the host held up Horikoshi's artwork for the camera in a live broadcast.

In the eyes of experts like Senichi, the drawing looked like a child's simple doodle. However, relying on his abstract thinking, Senichi roughly discerned a bridge above and a river below, with a few unclear things drawn on the riverbank.

"Is there something here?" the host asked excitedly.

"I can feel a strong aura there!" Horikoshi replied in his charlatan-like manner.

Next, the host pointed to the drawing and asked for confirmation and received an answer similar to what Senichi had in mind.

"Please wait!"

Seeing the note handed over by a staff member, the host quickly ran to the map nearby, "According to our staff's investigation, there is indeed a boat rental house here! It's about five hundred meters from Miss S's home..."

"Wait!!" Horikoshi suddenly interrupted the host's introduction and pointed at the map, "Is that a bridge?"

The host glanced at the vertical line crossing the river near Miss S's house on the map and nodded, "Yes, it's a bridge!"

Horikoshi's facial muscles trembled slightly and his cheeks turned red. He anxiously scratched his hair, "Go quickly... hurry..."

"I understand!" The host handed the sketchbook to a nearby journalist. Immediately, a cameraman followed them as they rushed outside.

"So, please wait a moment, everyone. I believe the situation on the scene will be conveyed here shortly."

While the host spoke, a few staff members brought in a television and placed it on the stage.

The waiting time was a bit lengthy, but luckily, the host's skills were good. He introduced information about two opposing contestants, and the audience patiently waited in the warm-up atmosphere.

As the external cameras cut into the television feed, the live audience directed their attention to the screen. On the TV screens, the shadow of a host outside appeared.

"Now, we've arrived at the riverbank mentioned by the psychic Horikoshi."

The host, holding the drawing, exclaimed to the camera in surprise, "Everyone, look! We found a place that matches this drawing exactly!"

"Yes!!" Horikoshi's pupils widened, "This is the scene I saw in my mind!"

"Mr. Yamashita, can you hear this?" the host shouted toward the equipment. "It seems to be here."

"Yes" Horikoshi shouted, and then he seemed to be perceiving something with his eyes. "Is there a large ring nearby?"

"A ring?"

"Black, and quite big..."

The journalist named Yamashita looked around after hearing this, "I'll go look for it now!"

"Is there something inside this area?" the host quickly asked.

"Spirit... a strong spiritual energy..." Horikoshi slowly closed his eyes and appeared to be sensing something, "It's probably something related to the case..."

Just as the host was about to say something more, shouts from the on-site host were heard from the side.
