Cherreads

Chapter 10 - final Chapter : Until the Cherry Blossoms Fall

Spring had returned to the city.

The breeze was soft, scented with the faint perfume of blooming cherry blossoms. Pink petals danced along the sidewalks and rooftops, landing in Yuna's hair as she stood under the familiar tree in Namsan Park—the same place where everything had begun.

She wore a white dress that fluttered in the wind. Around her neck was the small silver pendant Jisoo had given her on their first trip together. Her fingers gently clutched a small paper in her hand—a letter she hadn't been brave enough to read until today.

He had written it six months ago, on a rainy day when they'd first whispered the words I love you like a secret too sacred for the world to hear.

But today wasn't just any day.

Today was their day.

Footsteps crunched softly behind her, and she turned.

There he was—Jisoo, standing in a tailored black coat, his hair slightly tousled, eyes brighter than the morning sun.

And in that single glance, the world faded away.

"You're early," she said, her voice a little breathless.

"I've been early since the day I met you," he said, walking toward her. "I think I was always waiting."

She smiled, heart fluttering like a thousand petals caught in the wind.

Jisoo reached into his coat and pulled out a small, worn photo of them—taken by accident on their first date when they had tried to pose with the timer and ended up laughing too hard.

"You looked so happy in this," he said softly. "It's the moment I realized I wanted a future with you."

Yuna's eyes shimmered. "You still make me that happy."

He closed the distance between them and held out his hand.

"No games today. No teasing. Just the truth."

She placed her hand in his. "I'm listening."

He inhaled deeply, like every word came from a place deeper than breath.

"Yuna, I never knew what real love was until you walked into my life. You didn't just make me feel loved — you made me feel seen. Understood. Safe. Like the world could fall apart around us, and as long as I had your hand in mine, I'd still be whole."

Yuna's lips parted slightly, tears welling in her eyes.

"You showed me how to laugh again," he continued. "You taught me how to slow down, how to live in the present, and how to love without fear."

He reached into his pocket again.

And this time, it was a small velvet box.

Yuna gasped softly as he knelt before her, surrounded by falling petals.

"Yuna," he said gently, his voice trembling just enough to make her heart race, "will you keep walking beside me—through every season, every sunrise, every storm? Will you marry me?"

Tears spilled down her cheeks as she nodded, unable to speak.

He slid the ring onto her finger.

The world burst into color.

One Year Later

The bells chimed softly as the chapel doors opened.

Jisoo stood at the altar, hands clasped, eyes focused, breath held.

And then she appeared.

Yuna, in a dress like soft snow and morning light, walking slowly toward him with the same smile she wore the night they watched the stars from his rooftop.

Jisoo exhaled shakily. "She's real," he whispered under his breath. "She's mine."

Their vows were simple, but true:

> "You are the only home I've ever known."

"You are the season I never want to end."

"In every lifetime, I'll choose you."

And when he kissed her, it wasn't like fireworks.

It was like sunrise. Warm. Safe. Familiar.

Final Scene: The Quietest Moment

That night, as the moon rose and guests finally left, Yuna and Jisoo sat barefoot in the middle of their small living room, surrounded by empty plates and petals from her bouquet.

No lights. Just the moon and their laughter.

Yuna rested her head on his shoulder. "We did it."

He brushed his lips against her hair. "No. You did it. You changed everything."

She lifted her head, their noses barely an inch apart.

"Do you remember the first thing you ever said to me?" she whispered.

He chuckled. "I said you looked like someone who didn't know they were beautiful."

"And now?"

"Now I know I'm the luckiest man alive."

He kissed her again—soft and slow. Like the world had stopped just to let them exist in this one, endless second.

Final Words

Love doesn't always arrive with fireworks. Sometimes, it comes like spring—quietly, gently, blooming inside you before you even realize it.

For Yuna and Jisoo, it began with a look, a laugh, a season.

And it became forever.

The season you arrived… became the season I never wanted to leave.
