"Yes Kirahhhhh" Naya responded on the top of her voice as they entered the taxi....
"You don't get it, do you?" Naya said, turning in her seat to face her Kirah. "You're working for the most eligible bachelor in the city, and all you're doing is—what? Keeping your distance? Girl, if I were you, I'd have him wrapped around my finger by now and perhaps you guys have done it!"
Kirah rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the small smile tugging at her lips. "Naya, stop. I'm here to work. I'm not here to fall into some billionaire's playboy games. Besides, you think he's interested in me? He's probably sleeping with half of his employees. I'm just another name on his list."
Kirah scoffed....
"I'm just a consultant, Naya," Kirah sighed, her voice filled with exhaustion from the constant battle of trying to ignore the pull between her and Dominic. "He's my boss. That's it and such mistake will never repeat itself"!!!
"But a very rich and very handsome boss, and you're telling me you don't care?" Naya grinned mischievously. "Please, girl. He's probably waiting for you to make a move. I'm sure you can have it all—his attention, his love, his billions! You'd be living in a mansion and sipping champagne by the pool— and....
Kirah stared out the window, her thoughts swirling around the absurdity of it all. Not that She wasn't interested in wealth or fancy things, She was trying to be careful ,build a future for herself—and for her family. And yet, Naya's words were making her question everything.
She thought about the way Dominic had looked at her earlier today , when he asked about the heels, acting almost... possessive? Jealous? She shook her head, brushing away the thought. No, it doesn't matter. He's a billionaire playboy who gets bored with women quickly. That's not the kind of relationship I want.
Kirah sighed, resting her head back against the seat. "I don't know, Naya. I'm just... tired of it all. All the drama and games."
Naya pressed a hand to her chest, feigning hurt. "Drama? Games? Kirah, this is your chance to get everything you've dreamed of. You deserve it."
Kirah chuckled softly, deciding to change the subject. "Alright, enough about that. I'm broke anyway. I spent everything on this new house. You can borrow me money instead."
Naya stared at her in shock. "What? You? Broke? Never! You're a billionaire's employee, girl! You're rolling in it!"
Kirah laughed, shaking her head. "It's all gone. Well, mostly gone. I spent almost all my savings on getting this house ready for the family. But, hey, it's worth it. They're happy, and that's what matters."
Naya smirked. "Sure, sure. Just don't forget me when you're rolling around in luxury, okay?"
The conversation shifted back to lighter, more comfortable topics, and before they knew it, they had reached the new apartment. As soon as the cab stopped, Naya practically leapt out of the car, her eyes wide as she took in the spacious, fully furnished three-bedroom flat.
"Kirah, this is beyond amazing!" Naya exclaimed, stepping inside and spinning around in awe. "Girl, you've really outdone yourself!"
Naya paused, standing in the living room and looking around once more. "I'm proud of you, Kirah. I can't believe you did all this."
Kirah laughed, a little embarrassed. "Thanks. It wasn't easy, but I wanted us to have a fresh start."
By the time dinner rolled around, the house was buzzing with joy. Everyone was in high spirits, enjoying a family meal together. Kirah's heart swelled with pride as her mom, Mayowa, the rest of the family and Naya laughed and talked at the dinner table.
As the evening came to a close, Naya said her goodbyes, promising to come back soon. "But first, you'll need to give me a loan, girl! I'm helping you build your empire, right?"
Kirah just laughed and waved her off, knowing Naya's teasing was all in good fun.

Later That Night – Kirah's Room
The apartment was quiet now, the family settling in for the night. Kirah, however, couldn't relax just yet. After taking a shower, she sat on her bed, pulling her phone from the nightstand.
She hadn't been expecting to see what she saw when she unlocked the screen.
It was a message from Dominic.
Her breath caught in her throat as she stared at the short, simple text.
"I hope your day went well?.. Hope to see you tomorrow."_ Dominic
Her first instinct was to roll her eyes and ignore it—maybe even delete it. But something in her chest tightened, an odd sensation of both frustration and curiosity.
Why was he texting her? What did he want now?
"Like wtf? godamn you ashhole!".....
