Aiden
My head hurts so bad, and the memories of last night's Halloween party haunt me. I don't know what she's going to do now. She's a complete psychopath, but I can't deny that there's something about her that attracts me. A sudden knock on the door shakes me out of my thoughts. "Honey, breakfast's ready!" my mom calls out. "I'm coming right now!"
As I walk down the stairs, I try to push all thoughts of Selena away. But her scent lingers on my skin, a constant reminder of her touch. My mother greets me with a warm smile as I enter the kitchen. "Good morning, honey" she says, pouring me a cup of coffee. "Thank you, Mom" I mutter, sipping. She looks at me strangely, studying me carefully. "What's wrong?" she asks gently. "Nothing" I lie, avoiding her gaze.
"I'm just tired from last night's Halloween party" I say. She smiles at me and hands me a plate full of pancakes. "If there's anything, you can always let me know!" I nod, smiling at her. "Thanks, but I have to get to campus!" I reply, grabbing a pancake to eat on the way.
I arrive in Montrevere and Milo immediately comes over to me as soon as he sees me. "Hey dude where did you disappear to last night? I was looking for you!" "Well I had to leave the party early" I lied. "Look, if that Selena is still after you, let me know!"
I give Milo a weak smile, "She won't bother me anymore." He looks skeptical but doesn't press further. We walk together towards the lecture hall, and I can feel his worried glances every few seconds. The day drags on, filled with lectures and assignments. Every moment of silence brings Selena's face to mind. Her gray eyes, intense and demanding.
After the first few lectures with Milo, we enter the cafeteria. I look around and I don't see Selena anywhere. After last night, I haven't seen her at all today. Did I hurt her? I shake my head, shaking myself out of my thoughts. She's crazy, I don't want to think about her. We sit at our usual table and Thalia, with her red hair that falls in waves and those green eyes like grass itself, she really is beautiful, but after Selena warned me last night that she would send anyone to hell even if they looked at me, I have to be careful.
She sits down at our table with a tray piled high with salad and a burger. "Last night was amazing! Thanks for inviting us to the party!" Milo says, breaking the tense silence. "You're welcome, guys!" Her smile is bright, but she's oblivious to the danger lurking in the shadows. Suddenly, the doors to the cafe open with a bang and I see Selena in a black sweatshirt, a black leather jacket that hugs her curves perfectly, and her black leather jeans are like a second skin. But her face is angry and dangerous. She sits down next to her gang and looks at me for a moment before looking away.
The atmosphere shifts instantly. The other students whisper among themselves, casting nervous glances at Selena and her group. Even Milo seems to shrink back slightly. I swallow hard, trying to keep my composure. Selena leans forward, resting her elbows on the table. Her gray eyes fixate on me, unblinking. "You look like you've seen a ghost, Aiden." Thalia notices the tension and looks between Selena and me curiously.
"Isn't that Selene Valkari? The legend of Montrever?" Thalia whispered. "She's crazy too! Stay away from her?" I replied, lowering my voice. I looked at Selene, who wasn't taking her eyes off me. Just don't do anything to Thalia just because she was talking to me. "Tomorrow night is the Halloween hunt and I can't wait!" Milo said.

After lectures and a busy day, I came home. I left my backpack on the couch and walked to the kitchen where there was a little note from my mom on the counter. _„Honey, I'm working the night shift at the hospital tonight. There's dinner left in the fridge."_ I smiled and opened the fridge for her to grab her dinner.
The house felt empty without my mom here. I put some food on a plate and took it upstairs to my room. I closed the door behind me and set the plate down on my desk. I pulled out my laptop and opened it up. There was a message from Milo. _"Dude, be careful tomorrow. If Selena wants you, she'll stop at nothing."_ I sighed and typed back, _"Yeah, I know."_ I closed my laptop and turned it off.
I started eating my food and suddenly my phone rang. It was an unknown number, but I knew deep down it was Selena. With trembling hands I picked it up, despite my fear. "Hello, bunny, did you miss me?" she asked in a sultry and dangerous voice. "I'll say it again Selena! Leave me alone!" I screamed into the receiver.
Her laughter echoed through the phone, low and menacing. "Oh, Aiden, don't be like that. You know you want me." "Don't call me again" I said firmly, hanging up the phone. My appetite vanished, replaced by a knot of anxiety in my stomach. I stared blankly at my laptop screen. It's just another threat, I told myself. She can't hurt you. But deep down, I knew better.

In the morning I quickly got dressed and grabbed my backpack, ready for another crazy day in Montrevere. I went down the stairs, my mom had come home early and was still sleeping so I wasn't going to wake her up. I left the house and my eyes fell on the ground where there was a little stuffed bunny with a note on its face. My heart jumped, knowing it was from Selena. I took the note with my shaking hands and read it.
_„Get ready for tonight, bunny. No one gets away with a Hunt."_ A shiver ran down my spine as I crumpled up the note and stuffed it into my pocket. I hurried back to campus, trying to focus on anything but the upcoming hunt. Classes dragged on, every minute passing like an eternity. During lunch, I noticed Selena across the cafeteria, her eyes fixed on me. She grinned smugly, licking her lips meaningfully.
Milo noticed my discomfort and followed my gaze. "Fuck, man, she's staring at you like you're her next meal." He leaned closer. "Maybe you should skip the hunt tonight." "No way" I muttered. "I'm not going to let her scare me." As the day wore on, my resolve began to waver. By evening, I found myself pacing my room at home, contemplating whether to go or stay hidden.
I looked out the window, the sun had almost set, and the Hunt would soon begin. I can't hide forever. I'm not afraid of her. I put on my pink neon bracelet and walked out of the house with determined steps. This time I won't let her catch me.
