Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 - One Power Over Ten

Seeing that the two were about to fight again, Manager Wang burst into tears and could only plead bitterly.

"You two great Soul Masters, please show some mercy. Our small business can't withstand any more of your vandalism."

Yu Xiaowei grinned and pointed at Dai Mubai.

"He has to pay for this!"

Dai Mubai said nothing but stared at Yu Xiaowei with sharp eyes.

The girl who had been crying on the stairs earlier gave him an inexplicably familiar feeling, as if she had always belonged to him.

That's why, when he saw Yu Xiaowei sitting next to the girl, he felt, for some reason, like he was being cheated on.

Violence gradually replaced rationality, and now he only wanted to tear the unfamiliar boy in front of him to pieces.

Sensing Dai Mubai's aggression, Tang San protected Xiao Wu and stepped back with a frown.

"Dai Mubai is getting serious. Who is that young man? Do they have a grudge?"

Xiao Wu glanced at Zhu Zhuqing, who was swaying on the stairs, then at the twins who had already hidden far away, and said in dissatisfaction,

"Hmph, all men are scum. It'd be better if one of them just got killed!"

"Don't talk nonsense."

Tang San scratched his nose, grabbed Xiao Wu's hand, and quickly retreated behind the hotel counter.

At this moment, Dai Mubai was full of arrogance and asked with a fierce expression on his face,

"What is your relationship with her?"

"Alright, let me think about how to put this!"

Yu Xiaowei crossed his arms and pretended to ponder for a moment, then said with a smile,

"She owed me something and paid it back today. Yeah, that's our relationship."

She owed you and repaid it? Payment at a hotel? What kind of repayment?

"Ahhh——!"

Dai Mubai was furious, veins bulging on his forehead, and the White Tiger Martial Spirit instantly possessed his body. His surging soul power created a wave-like pressure that filled the entire first floor. He extended his tiger claws and roared at Yu Xiaowei.

"Show me your Martial Spirit!!!"

"I'm going to beat you to death today!!!"

Tang San, already hidden far away, felt Dai Mubai's aura and his pupils contracted sharply. Xiao Wu no longer had the momentum to argue with Dai Mubai from earlier, and now hid behind Tang San, her face pale.

Zhu Zhuqing, standing on the stairs, looked down with a worried expression, but it wasn't clear whom she was worried about.

"Tsk."

Ignoring Dai Mubai's fierce aura, Yu Xiaowei said disdainfully, "Do I need to show my Martial Spirit just to beat up a loser like you?"

After repeatedly defeating Soul Sect members, he was truly uninterested in Dai Mubai, who was just a Soul Master.

Feeling humiliated, Dai Mubai roared and used White Tiger Vajra Transformation and White Tiger Body Barrier in succession, turning into a streak of black and white lightning and charging at Yu Xiaowei.

However, what happened next surprised everyone.

There was no spectacular fight scene, no dazzling moves or techniques.

Yu Xiaowei casually caught Dai Mubai's fist, and with minimal effort, forced him to kneel before him.

With a faint smile on his lips, Yu Xiaowei glanced casually at Tang San and said with a smile,

"Little kitty, remember this."

"When faced with absolute power, all skills are nothing but flashy tricks."

"And one more thing—not everyone in this world is someone you can mess with."

In the end, he suddenly exerted more force, lifted Dai Mubai, and slammed him into the ground.

Bang

-bang

-bang—

Three heavy impacts in a row created a large crater in the hotel floor. Dai Mubai felt like all the bones in his body were broken, blood pouring from his mouth and nose.

If he hadn't been a Power Attack Type Soul Master—if it had been a physically weaker Soul Master—he probably would've died from just those few strikes.

His gaze at Yu Xiaowei was no longer fierce, but full of fear.

A Soul Master? Or a Soul Sect member?

Where did this monster come from? He didn't look very old, but he was terrifying.

He had used all his strength, yet in the end he couldn't even force the boy to reveal his Martial Spirit.

Tang San hugged Xiao Wu tightly, his eyes filled with horror. Yu Xiaowei's overwhelming combat power had left a deep psychological shock.

His Purple Demon Eye had long since been trained to the highest level, so the moment Yu Xiaowei moved, he could tell the boy was no older than 15—perhaps not even 13.

Originally, he had been proud of reaching level 29 soul power at age 12.

But after seeing Yu Xiaowei, he felt like all his years of training had been in vain.

Zhu Zhuqing looked at Dai Mubai, who had been beaten half to death, and a trace of sorrow appeared in her eyes.

"Remember to ask him for compensation."

Yu Xiaowei pointed to the collapsed Dai Mubai and said seriously to Manager Wang.

Dai Mubai, who had already fainted from the beating, rolled his eyes and passed out again upon hearing this.

The storm ended with Yu Xiaowei's departure.

Zhu Zhuqing looked at Dai Mubai lying on the ground, then glanced at Yu Xiaowei's back.

After hesitating for a moment, she pouted her lips, stomped her foot lightly, rushed down the stairs, helped Dai Mubai to his feet with difficulty, carried him on her thin body, and ran straight to the town clinic.

Tang San and Xiao Wu watched Zhu Zhuqing's actions in confusion. They were now a bit puzzled about the relationship between the three of them.

The kids from the countryside had never seen such a scene before and could only sigh.

City folks sure knew how to make drama.

But neither of them dared to stay any longer at the Rose Hotel and hurried away.

Manager Wang and the front desk clerk were the only ones left in the hotel. Looking at the mess on the first floor, they wanted to cry but had no tears.

They could only clean up while repeatedly hypnotizing themselves:

"All Soul Masters are noble beings. Those people just now were at least great Soul Masters. They're probably from a big clan. Not people we can afford to offend."

That night, a strong middle-aged man in his fifties arrived at the front desk of the Rose Hotel.

"Hello, sir, how may I help—"

Before the sentence was finished, the middle-aged man slammed his fist on the counter. Without any visible power, the wooden desk turned into powder.

He spoke in a low, muffled voice.

"One of my students was severely beaten here today. Whoever did it—find them for me."

He was another Soul Master, and far stronger than either of the ones from earlier.

The clerk cowered in fear and tearfully said,

"That guest left in the morning and never returned. We don't know where he went."

"Soul Master, please be merciful and spare our little shop."

"We can't survive being wrecked like this again."

The middle-aged man snorted with dissatisfaction and shouted,

"His name? Find it for me."

"Hmph, daring to beat my student like that—I want to see who he is."

After a while, the clerk said tremblingly while holding the guest book and pointed at a name.

"Soul Master, that guest's name is Yu Xiaowei."

"Yu Xiaowei,"

Zhao Wuji repeated the name several times, as if to carve the three characters into his heart.

And what about Yu Xiaowei now?

After beating up Dai Mubai like that, one of those old bastards from Shrek—who only help their own and not outsiders—was sure to come seeking revenge.

If he still dared to stay at the Rose Hotel right now, he must've had his brain kicked by a donkey.
