Initially, I tried talking to the girl as we walked but she seemed to be in a dazed state and wouldn't respond to me, even when she did it was just a shake or a nod of her head. I eventually gave up considering she was still following me and began walking in silence, though I wasn't idle.
I had requested Raphael to teach me all the knowledge of magic it had copied from Rizevim to pass the time. The great thing was, Raphael could just download the information into my mind. It was like having a eureka moment, before I would have no clue on how to do something and then the next moment the solution is laid out neatly in my head like a step by step guide.
I also asked Raphael to clarify some things I was curious about with this world. Naturally we didn't specify all the details of the world when we were in the research facility as a detailed background wasn't necessary for our game. One of the most interesting things was the relationship between ancient demons, modern demons and devils.
Ancient demons, according to the knowledge Rizevim's database had, are presumed to be extinct, these were the demons that existed since the creation of the world up to when the primordial gods of the various pantheons waged a war on the demon realm to claim bits of it to make their underworlds. They were ruled by a tyrannical demon king whos name was lost to history. Anos Voldigoad presumably.
Modern demons are those that survived since the demon realm was split up until the modern era and are ruled by a demon lord rather than a king as respect to their ancestors. They are also weaker than their ancestors though the reason for their decline remains unconfirmed. The devils were the creations of Lucifer with the help of Lilith based on demons, and are ruled by four devil kings.
All three of these groups use a power called demonic energy and they all come from different stories, Misfit of Demon King Academy; Testament of Sister New Devil (though their race is demon); and Highschool DxD, respectively. In Misfit Demon King most spells are cast with magic glyphs and corresponding words, whereas in Testament and DxD magic is cast through magic circles and imagination.
The interesting thing Raphael found was the difference between the three races. Raphael described demonic power as 'a selfish energy that forcibly imposers its masters will on the world'. Both ancient and modern demons can cast spells through just imagination and willpower but the use of magic circles/glyphs helps with efficiency to provide guidelines.
Raphael further theorized that the words ancient demons used when casting magic could be like a cheat code recognized by the world in some origin language, as those spell names were recognized and used by all four of the origin races: origin gods; ancient heroes; ancient demons; and ancient spirits. The loss of this language could also explain the modern demons reduced power, or alternatively, the lack of war to sharpen their willpower.
Devils were a bit different.
Despite their magic having similar characteristics to the demons, it was mutated during the creation of race to impose their desire on the world rather than their will. The advantage of this was that their power could become greater in proportion to how powerful the devils desire was. A great upside for Lucifer's biological war weapons.
On the other hand, their desires would be more out of control. This meant it was harder for devils to use their power for fine manipulation as, unlike willpower, which remains mostly constant, desires easily fluctuate in magnitude. This also meant devils were more susceptible to falling for their desires in the form of sin.
Pride: The desire to be greater than something/someone else.
Gluttony: The desire to consume to the point of excess.
Lust: The desire to indulge in sexual acts.
Greed: The desire to posses more than one needs.
Wrath: The desire to unjustly harm another.
Sloth: The desire to avoid ones responsibility.
Envy: The desire to posses something someone else has.
The magic knowledge download and Raphael's lesson on demons and devils was enough to last until we entered town. We wondered around the outskirts searching for some place that had been abandoned but was still good enough for shelter.
We skirted around places where Raphael detected life signatures. I didn't want to run into even thugs let alone gangs or worse, stray supernaturals. Despite the new magic knowledge in my head I had no practice.
During our wondering we passed a small supermarket, which I snuck in under an invisibility spell Raphael had created and stole foodstuffs and blankets. Sadly I didn't have anything I could leave to pay.
A few more minutes of wondering and we eventually found a place we could stay. A small bungalow on the edge of town tucked in at the corner of a row of houses on a street in the poorer area of the town. The windows were boarded shut but I managed to pry enough wood of for us to squeeze inside.
Munching on the stolen ham sandwiches we sat face to face, wrapped in the stolen blankets, on the creaky wooden chairs at the small table in the bungalows kitchen. Having waited for her to finish her sandwich I tried to start a conversation again.
"What can I call you?" I still didn't have her name but now that we had found some shelter for the night I was determined to get one out of her.
*shrug*
"Ok, so you don't have a name?"
*nod*
Same as before, so she wasn't just disoriented and wary when she first woke up in the forest.
"Do you have memories from before being in that lab?"
*head shake*
"Then how are you understanding me?" I was assuming she was made in the lab like my character, but if she was, why did she understand what I was saying.
"No memories. Just know." She finally spoke.
Now this was weird, perhaps amnesia? More importantly though she needed a name.
"Can I give you a name?"
She paused for a few seconds, seemingly going into thought before replying.
"Yes. You choose."
The room fell silent again as many random female names appeared in my head. I discarded them quickly and begun trying to think of a name that would reflect her as a person, though I didn't have much to go off of besides her blond hair and teal eyes.
"Lillian." I said, after finding a name that felt right.
Lillian is a name meaning lily like the flower, which in Christianity can symbolize purity, beauty and new beginnings. I thought it was quite fitting, as we belong to a race of the biblical faction, with no memory she's pure and this is her new beginning away from Rizevim's experiments.
"Good." She said and a small smile appeared on her face for the first time.
Perhaps, like me, gaining a name is giving her a moment of clarity in which the reality of her situation is now setting in. Her eye slowly gained more focus from that dazed look she had this entire time and she sat up a bit straighter in her chair.
"What now?" She asked, her first act that wasn't simply reacting to her surroundings.
"For now, we train our magic abilities. I don't know how much knowledge you have but we could be considered strays at the moment and we don't have enough power to protect ourselves. Currently were in the town of Kuoh in Japan, which will should soon be under the management of devils, our primary race, if it isn't already."
"Mhmm. I know what devils and Japan are." She nodded as a sign for me to continue.
"Eventually I want to get in contact with a member of the devil faction once we have had a chance to practice our magic a bit, maybe in a month or so. First though, do you mind if I use my ability to asses your body?"
"How?"
"I just have to spread my magic over you."
"Ok."
Having received permission Raphael began without needing any command. I also reminded it to do a deep scan of my body and try to analyze it with the new data it collected from hacking the lab.

Records indicate individual Rizevim Livan Lucifer was attempting to create a born super devil like himself and individual Sirzechs Gremory.
To do this Rizevim Livan Lucifer created a fetus with DNA from himself, a born super devil; individual Ajuka Astaroth, a being that reached super devil rank through ability and effort; and individual Serafall Sitri, a being on the boundary of super devil rank. The initial DNA contribution is split in a ratio 2:4:4, as, records indicate Rizevim Livan Lucifer did not desire to 'create another fake Lucifer'.
After discovering the optimization of DNA in the fetus, by Raphael, individual Rizevim Livan Lucifer began adding more DNA fragments he had collected in an attempt to strengthen it.
Note, the demonic power of Master is closer to that of a demon than a devil due to the influence of the ancient demon DNA. Additionally, demonic power shows draconic characteristics due to the influence of Heavenly dragon; Evil dragon; and Buné devil DNA.
Analysis indicates the body of Master suffers no genetic defects due to optimization by Raphael. Master possesses mid-high class reserves of demonic power and can currently access devil clan traits of house Zagan, Sitri and Astaroth. A mutation in the Astaroth clan trait has produced Raphael. A mutation of the Sitri clan trait has changed its elemental specialization from water to ice.
Scans of Master's soul indicate it is currently stable despite being older than Masters physical body.]
Thats good, it roughly lines up with the background I created for my character. A bit of a surprise that he added Succubus and Ancient Demon DNA as I didn't specify and hat the he managed to use some of Albion's DNA.
'Raphael you can now scan souls.' This was important as lots of the chaos in DxD came from someone messing with souls.
[Affirmative. Raphael can no identify souls. However, Raphael is unable to interact ith souls beond their outwards appearance. It is recommended to study a death gods divinity or find the Sephiroth Graal to gain the ability to create, modify or destroy souls.]
Thats definitely wasn't feasible at the moment, though it did give me a reminder to go and kidnap Valerie Tepes from the vampires before they discover she has the Sephiroth Graal.
'Give me your analysis of Lillian.'
[Affirmative. Scans indicate that Lillian is a hybrid of human, angel and god. Records state individual Rizevim Livan Lucifer was attempting to create a being capable of taking over the Heaven System after the Biblical God perished.
To do this Rizevim Livan Lucifer wanted to combine the DNA of the Biblical Gods humans; Adam, Lilith and Eve, with the DNA of an angel before having it develop its on divinity through a gods DNA.
Rizevim Livan Lucifer was able to create what he labeled as 'high-human' DNA through experiments with modern humans and Lilith's DNA. He experimented with DNA from different strength angels and only Lillian was successful.
Lillian's DNA as stabilized by inclusion from a gods DNA. It as noted that the gods DNA no longer carried divinity suggesting this god as ancient or has fallen into obscurity. Rizevim Livan Lucifer later attempted to purify his fathers DNA and included it in Lillian as, Helel was the first son of God.

I was quite surprised by this as I had been expecting her to be a devil like me as we ere in the same lab.
[Records indicate the lab Master was contained in was used to store successful creations from individual Rizevim Livan Lucifer's genetic experiments as they grew.]
That made sense and it suggested that the dead subjects in the lab were unable to grow even if the initial genetic experimentation was successful.
Genetically I could be considered the son of Rizevim, Ajuka and Serafall; Lillian could be considered the genetic daughter of Helel, Lilith and Gabriel. Which kind of made us related, maybe, I didn't know how Helel's DNA changed when he fell and became Lucifer.
'Raphael is Lillian's DNA stable?'
[Affirmative. The DNA from a god was acting as glue keeping Lillian alive, Raphael has now optimized her DNA so it is no longer in danger of collapse. However, Lillian's soul is older than her physical body and is incomplete.]
'Will that cause problems?' I asked breaking out from my internal discussion to look at the girl opposite me who was starting to look tired wrapped up in her blanket.
[Unknown, Raphael does not posses enough data to make a full analysis, however, individual Lillian's soul is in an unnatural state which may cause complications the longer it remains as such.]
This as a problem as I had started seeing Lillian like a pseudo-sibling like I did the other children in the research facility in my past life. Perhaps I had the dispossession to form emotional attachment to people in similar circumstances to myself.
Perhaps this attachment as further increased hen I realized the implications of her soul being older than her body. Either Rizevim created Lillian's body to house the soul, some cosmic accident happened and the soul got trapped in the body, or, most likely, she was a reincarnator like me, just, she had no memories of her past life.
Unfortunately, there was nothing I could do about it right no. I had no knowledge on Souls and no connections to people ho might. In fact I had no connections at all.
There was nothing I could do.
I would have to keep an eye on her and maybe speed up my plans for getting in contact with the devil faction. Although we would still need to get control of our magic first. Setting aside planning I stood up and walked over to Lillian.
"Come on lets go to sleep. We will start practicing magic tomorrow." I shook her a bit to rouse her from the drowsy state she was in.
She got up sluggishly and we began searching through the bungalow for the bedroom. It didn't take long to find it considering the old building only had four rooms, the dining room/kitchen we were sitting in before; the living room; a bathroom with a shower; and a bedroom.
Having prepared ourselves for bed I tucked her in on the left before getting in on the right site of the double bed. Neither of us minded, there was plenty of space and we were both children, even if reincarnated.
Lillian curled up into a ball still wrapped in her blanket. She stretched her arms out and grabbed hold of my hand once I was lying in the bed. A lot had happened today and I suspected she just wanted to feel the presence of someone else to reassure her that we were no longer in the lab.
My body may not have been tired but mentally, I was exhausted after all the excitement of my first day after reincarnating. I closed my eyes and swiftly fell asleep, though not before tasking Raphael to spread my demonic power out to keep track of the surroundings.
