Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Some Things After a Failed Operation

Li Xuan's escape from Nagazora City had failed completely due to his battle with the mysterious girl on the bridge. After all, the bridge had collapsed.

With no other choice, the group returned to their original base, where they resumed their mutual slaughter with the Dead Soldiers and Honkai Beasts within Nagazora City. They would slowly clear the surrounding Dead Soldiers while searching for alternative escape routes.

It was a leisurely afternoon—Li Xuan wholeheartedly agreed. He sat in a recliner on the fifteenth floor of a high-rise building, a precaution learned from past experiences to avoid detection by giant Honkai Beasts.

Since yesterday's escape had failed, everyone had returned to the base. Fortunately, their supplies were still intact, so they wouldn't have to worry about food for a while. They decided to relax and spend the day indoors.

"Oh! No! No! No! ちょっと魔(ま)がさしたんだ," Li Xuan hummed Hatsune Miku's mega-hit virtual idol song, "Love Trial," from his world. He picked up a cup of freshly brewed green tea from the small table beside his recliner, took a small sip, and stared out the window at the blue sky, lost in thought.

Kiana brushed past him, her face flushed with urgency, and slammed her bedroom door shut with a loud *bang*.

"Why lock the door in broad daylight?" Li Xuan wondered, glancing at Kiana's room. "Changing clothes?" But it wasn't his business, and he was too lazy to ask, so he simply resumed his earlier daydreaming.

"Li Xuan-kun, did you see that Kiana?" Raiden Mei asked, her expression grim as she approached him, Bronya following closely behind.

"Oh, yes," Li Xuan replied, glancing at them curiously and pointing at Kiana's room. "She's in her own room."

"Thank you," Mei said politely, turning to lead Bronya toward Kiana's door. For some reason, Li Xuan thought he saw a faint arc of electricity flicker across her hair.

*Well, what's it to me?* Li Xuan thought calmly, sipping his tea. *Though this tea tastes a bit strange... Is it past its expiration date? It's a little salty...*

Meanwhile, Mei had flung open Kiana's door. She immediately spotted Kiana standing with her back to her, seemingly sniffing something. "Kiana, did you steal Bronya's panties!?" Mei demanded directly at Kiana's back. Kiana's body stiffened.

"So, yeah... tsk, the power of yuri is truly terrifying," Mei said, her words causing Li Xuan to pause mid-sip. He calmly continued drinking his tea.

"N-no, I didn't!" Kiana stammered, her face flushed a mysterious shade of red as she turned around, hands clasped behind her back.

"Sister Mei, what Kiana's holding looks like Bronya's panties," Bronya stated matter-of-factly. Hearing this, Kiana's hands behind her back tightened their grip.

But it was all in vain. Mei swiftly darted forward, snatching the white fabric from behind Kiana's back, catching her red-handed. "Kiana, how could you?! Bronya is still just a child! If you want something, you should ask me!" Mei raged, completely ignoring Bronya's muttered protest, "Bronya is not a child anymore."

"I... I..." Kiana hung her head under Mei's gaze, unable to speak.

"Hmph! Is that the panties I changed out yesterday? Hand them over," Raiden Mei demanded.

"I hid them," Kiana mumbled reluctantly.

"Where is it?" Mei asked, her face grim.

"In the kitchen kettle," Kiana replied reluctantly.

Li Xuan's hand trembled, his expression complex as he stared at the tea in his cup. Mei seemed to realize something too, her face flushing crimson as she stared at the same cup.

"Pffft!" Li Xuan suddenly spat out the tea he had just taken a sip of—he couldn't keep calm anymore.Yes, Li Xuan had made the tea using water from the kitchen's kettle. Which meant...

Kiana—Aaaahhhhhhh!!!

Meanwhile, high above the City, a battleship named Hyperion hovered in the sky.

In front of a certain door stood a petite silver-haired nun.

The Silver-Haired Nun was no longer surprised by the scene, which was worse than a dog's kennel. She walked straight to the bed and nudged the lump under the covers. "Wake up, you idiot Himeko!" she said with a sigh.

Two arms emerged from the bundled-up blankets and wrapped around the Silver-Haired Nun. Himeko, the woman under the covers, poked her head out, reeking of alcohol, and nuzzled the nun's face. "Hehe, don't go, baby. Let me kiss you," she mumbled, pouting and leaning in for a kiss.

"No, no, nooooo!!!" The Silver-Haired Loli Principal's scream pierced the sky.

In short, the wind was rather boisterous today... in every sense of the word.
