Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Operating System

The atmosphere was electric with excitement, so Park Minho turned to look at Chen Ho and said:

"Is there any other relevant data? I'll study it to see if I can improve the design, and then we'll directly launch the third mobile phone!"

Now the reputation of the second mobile phone had been completely ruined by that Park Jihwan, so Hansung Corporation needed to change direction completely!

Since they were changing course, after thinking it over, Park Minho directly decided to develop the third Hansung mobile phone.

"Launching a 3rd generation phone?"

Hearing that Park Minho was abandoning the second mobile phone—the device he had developed over more than half a year—and jumping straight to the third generation, Chen Ho said in surprise.

Developing a new mobile phone was no small task. It had taken him more than three months to develop the second mobile phone.

Now it would be impossible to manufacture the third mobile phone within just a few months, and shouldn't the company's focus be on quickly restoring the reputation of the second-generation Hansung phone, rather than developing a third generation?

This seemed like throwing away the watermelon to pick up sesame seeds—unable to distinguish what was important and what wasn't.

"That's right. Give me all the materials, and I'll provide you with the initial design and production plan for the third-generation phone within seven days, with production completed within 20 days!"

"President, you mean you want to design the primary blueprint and manufacturing plan for the phone within seven days?"

Chen Ho blinked his eyes, then rubbed his ears, wondering if he had heard correctly.

"That's right. I want to complete the initial design of the third-generation phone within seven days."

Park Minho answered Chen Ho's question clearly, then met his gaze filled with surprise, disbelief, and doubt.

"I understand."

Chen Ho nodded slightly and agreed. Park Minho was the president, so he could do whatever he wanted.

But he hesitated a little, then continued:

"Actually, I already have ideas for the third phone, and I've designed some preliminary drafts. Compared to the first generation, which could only make calls and send text messages using the MediaTek MT6205 chip...

The third-generation Hansung phone is based on MediaTek's latest second-generation chip, the MT6218. Compared to the first-generation MT6205 chip, the second-generation chip adds functions like GPRS (internet access), WAP (web browsing), MP3 (music playback), and more.

This processor was just developed and launched recently. Currently, purchasing it in large quantities is problematic, and as a new chip, its price isn't low.

Originally, I planned to start the final design and manufacture after June, when production increased and prices came down. But since you want to design the third-generation Hansung phone, you can work from my draft plans."

"Oh?"

Hearing what Chen Ho said, Park Minho glanced at him in surprise. He hadn't expected that Chen Ho had already designed the prototype for the third-generation phone.

Although he didn't know the specifics, it was better than nothing. With the design draft for the third-generation phone, Park Minho's workload would be significantly reduced.

"Then give me all the relevant materials and drafts for this third-generation phone. With this draft, I'm confident I can design the next-generation phone within three days and produce an engineering prototype within half a month!"

"Eh?"

Hearing that Park Minho claimed he had shortened the timeline by four days and could produce the first phone draft within three days, Chen Ho looked at him in surprise again.

But Park Minho was the president after all, so he nodded and agreed.

---

In the rest room next to the president's office, Park Minho looked at the pile of technical documents on the desktop in front of him—thick as two palms stacked together. He asked the system:

"System, can I take these materials into the virtual copycat laboratory?"

"Ding, the system has scanned the current documents.

Ding, corresponding virtual files have been established in the virtual Imitation laboratory, and the host can freely access the virtual Imitation laboratory to read them."

"As expected."

Hearing the system's response, Park Minho felt more confident.

If he had been confident about designing the third-generation phone within seven days based on his extensive knowledge from his previous life, thinking it could be done easily, he had actually been worried about being proven wrong if he couldn't complete the task.

But now that the system could bring this information into the virtual imitation laboratory, with the system's bonus for reading materials, he was truly confident he could design a phone blueprint and manufacturing plan within three days.

After all, with advanced knowledge from future generations, combined with the existing prototype data for the third-generation phone, if he couldn't manufacture this, it would truly disgrace the system owner's reputation.

"Then it's time to develop the third-generation phone."

After Park Minho looked at the bed in front of him, he slowly lay down and called out "enter the virtual copycat laboratory" in his consciousness.

In an instant, his body fell into deep sleep, and his consciousness entered the virtual Imitation laboratory.

---

Two hours later, Park Minho set down the stack of materials in his hands, his eyes now showing the light of certain victory.

Based on his super-advanced knowledge from the future and combined with current materials, he had new ideas for the third-generation phone.

Regarding the design and manufacturing plan for the third-generation phone, to save time, Park Minho planned to conduct large-scale modifications directly based on Chen Ho's third-generation phone plan.

Of course, because the modifications were so extensive, it might not be called modifications but rather redesigning a completely new phone.

In terms of the core hardware—the phone's chip—Park Minho didn't change anything except increasing the memory.

Taking MediaTek's MT6205 chip as an example, he couldn't do anything at the physical level of the chip, and Park Minho couldn't alter the transistor data inside the core.

But in terms of software optimization, Park Minho was confident he could squeeze out the full performance of this processor.

According to the information Park Minho had learned, this chip came with an embedded system called the ATI Nucleus system.

It was worth mentioning that this system wasn't specially designed for MediaTek's chip development and design—the system served other chips simultaneously.

Because of this system's wide portability and compatibility, the ATI Nucleus system could be compatible with MediaTek's chip.

But you can't have everything—in order to be compatible with most chips, this ATI Nucleus system was inevitably bloated, and naturally couldn't perfectly tap the chip's potential and squeeze out its performance.

This left huge room for Park Minho to operate. As long as Park Minho designed a deeply optimized operating system for this chip, he could perfectly squeeze out the chip's performance!

"If I use a deeply optimized system, I can guarantee a 20% efficiency increase without changing the hardware. If I increase the memory, then I'm certain the overall performance will increase by 30%."

Park Minho's eyes shone with golden light, but this wasn't Park Minho's limit—he believed he could go even further.
