Chapter 4 - Floor 2

______

Leroy decided to move over to the chest. Moving slowly and cautiously to it, making sure to be mindful of his surroundings in case another Automated Crossbow decided to attack. The chest was a fairly large one, a small golden glow emitting from the cracks of it. Taking a deep breath, Leroy whispered to himself,

"Okay… Time to open this chest."

The chest creaked as it was being opened, its creak echoing amongst the large room. Some dust flew off of the chest, the glow from before much brighter. Once it was fully opened, you could see sparkles that shone with pride and accomplishment. Inside was a multitude of rewards, each gleaming with importance and value.

"Ha- Alright, now we're talking," Leroy grinned, his eyes widening with excitement at the treasures within the large, wooden chest.

"Oh wow, I feel spoiled—not that I hate it though," Leroy snickered, a small sparkle of amusement in his eyes.

<< Would you like to progress to 'Floor 2'? >>

[Yes/no]

"Yes, why shouldn't I go to Floor 2? I got everything I need for it, heh." Leroy shrugged his shoulders, confident of winning the second floor. He did a small stretch, then immediately appeared in another hallway. A different one.

"..Okay, I guess straight to the point..? "

Whilst Leroy was exploring the hallway, he glanced over to the walls, noticing some writing on them. Tilting his head sideways, he approached the writing, gently brushing his fingers over it. The writing read, "I have been doing it 513 times." The 513 part was tallied all over the walls.

"Doing what..?" Leroy was confused about what the word along the wall meant.

Suddenly, further into the long hallway, he heard a scream... But it seemed to be a human screaming.

Leroy jerked to his left at the sound of the scream. The scream came from a man who was running toward Leroy, the man's clothing scratched up and his skin slightly bruised, as if he had just escaped a terrible fight.

The man shouts to Leroy, "HELP!"

Leroy raised a brow, confused and slightly nervous. 'What the hell? How is there another person here? I thought there was only one in each level of the hallway.'

Before he could ask the man what was wrong, something else attracted his attention, and that something was right behind him. Turning around immediately, he was stunned to find a huge, sparkling, purple-colored slime that was as tall as his leg.

Staring at the slime, he smiled softly, "Aw, you look kind of cute." Leroy bent down to pet the slime, patting its head as it purred with delight.

The man from before paused, rubbing his eyes to make sure he was seeing things right. "ARE YOU AN IDIOT!?" The man screamed, wiping some blood from a small wound, the blood trickling down his dark skin.

Leroy looked back at the man. "Chill, dude, it's friendly!"

"NOTHING ABOUT THOSE SCARY BASTARDS IS FRIENDLY YOU IDIOT!"

Leroy took a small glance at the slime's cute form. "..But..its cute..Besides, it doesn't bite, does it, little cutie?" Leroy asked the purple slime. The slime looked up at Leroy with a small shine to its eyes. Looking as cute as ever, until it started glowing brighter and brighter.

BOOM

The slime shot a ball of electricity toward Leroy, causing him to get electrocuted. Leroy put his hands on his knees, out of breath and in slight pain.

"I THOUGHT WE WERE PALS," Leroy pointed at the slime, a slight tear in his eye.

Abruptly a skill of his got automatically activated.

[lvl: 20]

[Strength: (can not be calculated)]

[Agility: 30]

[Mana: (Can not be calculated)]

[Element: Dark Lightning]

"Okay…I guess now we know that it has an electricity power. Who knew?" Leroy assessed the slime; from behind him, he could hear the man from before.

"I tried to warn you!"

"ARE YOU THE ONE GOING TO FIGHT THIS THING OR ME," Leroy screamed at the man, a tad irritated that the man was right… He did give him a warning, not like Leroy was going to admit to it and his mistake.

Out of nowhere, a sword appears in Leroy's hand. It was the "Sea Serpent's Sword".

"Swift-Aero Walk!"

[Your agility will be increased by 70% now]

Leroy sprinted forward, his agility being insane. He was so fast that the slime, nor that man who was screaming for help, didn't realize that Leroy was already behind the two. They only felt a gush of wind, caused by Leroy's incredible speed.

Leroy gave a full swing of his sword, cutting the slime into two pieces.

[Killed 'Dark Lightning Slime (FE)']

[Gained 1500 xp]

"Seems I was right, this skill is an enhancement skill-"

The man who was running away from the slime threw himself at Leroy's feet, "You killed it! I can finally be free from its slimy torture!"

"Uh, you're welcome? Also let go…"

"..I'm trying to thank you right now. The least you can do is accept it."

"Fine."

Leroy watched the man stand from the ground, dusting himself off. Taking this opportunity to interrogate the man.

"So… What was your name again?"

"Oh right, introductions. I'm Trace."

Leroy nodded, "Vanix."

Trace nodded in acknowledgement to Leroy's introduction. He looked around, turning to Leroy once more. "Can I ask you to help me complete this floor? Whatever the prize is, you can take 60% of it and I can take the rest. "

Leroy contemplated the deal, thinking for a moment or two in suspicion before agreeing. "Alright, I'll help you."

Trace sighed, "Yes—thanks."

Leroy follows him as they move forward.

While they were searching for the boss room, they encountered lots of Dark Lightning Slime. Leroy leveled up once in between those battles.

"This is weird. These slimes are way too easy to call it an impossible mode"

After walking for some minutes, they found the end of the room. There was a huge door with something written on it, which seemed to be in a different language or something, because Leroy couldn't read its writing.

Leroy hummed in thought, speaking aloud, "Must be the Boss Room..."

Trace quickly replied to Leroy, a somewhat worried expression on his face. "Yeah, it is! "

Leroy approached the door slowly, bringing his hand up to the door. He let his fingers graze upon the purple wood, a message popping up in front of him as he did so.

<>

[Yes/No]

Leroy took a deep breath, proceeding to the "Boss Room" ahead.

The gigantic door opened up; within the doors was a huge room, bigger than the room on Floor 1. There were lots of platforms in the room, floating in the air, that seemed to be made out of cobblestone. There was also a shiny crystal at the center-bottom of all floating platforms, different colored crystals shining from their inner.

Leroy noticed that beside every single crystal, there was a blue screen, with words speaking.

<>

"A Spawn Gem, hm...? I wonder if it spawns monsters, or slimes in this case, I'd assume."

Mid-thought, Trace began shouting, "Uh-—not to burst your thought bubble or anything-—but something's spawning on the platforms!!"

Leroy directs his line of sight from the gems to the platforms. A multitude of colored slimes spawning all over the platforms. Each slime is a variety of sizes and colors: red, blue, purple, orange, green, and multiple colors.

"Oh… Damn…. That's too many-—too, damn, many."

When he turned to look to his left, a huge ball of fire was shot out from a fire-colored slime. The ball of fire flew towards him, burning through the wind and heading straight for Leroy's head.

"AH," Leroy shrieked, jumping to the right, the fireball lightly grazing his skin, causing a burn to Leroy's flesh. The male winced in pain, holding his arm as it stung and burned with every second the air touched his wound. Leroy's eyes widened, remembering that Tracer was behind him before the fire attack. Immediately turning to that direction, Leroy found an…unscathed Tracer?-

PLOP

Jerking to the front of the room after hearing small plops hit the ground, Leroy sees the slimes bouncing off the platform they originally spawned in, and towards him. Before he could do much, he was already surrounded by the swarm.

"Why are they so cute and deadly- AND WHY DO THEY KEEP ON SPAWNING SO MUCH!?"

<>

Leroy pierced through all the blobs of slime that crowded him, but no matter how much and how fast he could kill the slimes, more would just keep on coming! The battle kept on going, slimes respawning, and Leroy growing very exhausted. He let out pants as sweat began to drip off of his forehead. Slicing through the slimes felt draining to him with how much they continued their attacks. His shoulders and arms burned with exhaustion and soreness, not used to this sort of exercise.

"I don't know what will get me killed first- The slimes or exhaustion!"

After some time…

Leroy groaned irritably, out of breath as he yelled out in frustration, "When will this ever end!?"

Continuing his attack against the blobs of slime, an idea appears in his mind. Leroy snickered mischievously, slicing one more slime, then looking over to the Spawn Gem from before.

"If you want something stopped, go straight for the source!" Leroy was proud of himself for thinking of such an idea but questioned how he would get up and on the platforms.

"Skill Info!"

[Let's you temporarily enchant a weapon]

[Unknown Skill]

[Gives you info about your surroundings and objects]

[Let's you walk in the air]

[Increases agility by 70%]

"Just what I need!"

"Aero Walk!"

Leroy felt his body grow lighter, as light as a feather almost! Taking a step forward, he began walking as if there was an invisible staircase that only he could walk on. Stepping on each step, running up the stairs.

"Awesome! Now it feels like I am walking on air. "

Abruptly, he was thrown off by a high-pressure wind from the side.

He steadied himself once more using the Aero Walk, but felt his body grow weaker and numb due to him being low on mana.

"Huh!?-" Leroy looks around, his eyes darting to every possible direction the air could've come from, before seeing a suspicious thing nearby- A transparent slime!?

"Too late!"

This time he attempts to aim his dagger at a wall. Leroy held the dagger tightly, then swung it into the air and toward the wall. The dagger pierced through the wind, glimmering as it flew. It bounced off the wall, striking the transparent slime, then flew toward the Gem. When the dagger flew closer to the Gem, it ran into some sort of invisible wall, changing the trajectory of the dagger and throwing it to the side. In front of Leroy, a Shiny Red-Colored Message box pops up in his face.

"Urgh- Come on! How am I supposed to complete the floor!?"
