Chapter 46 - Chapter 45: Escaping from Lehn City

At noon, under the bright sun, Horn gathered the thirteen wild witches together again.

Horn said to them seriously, "Guys, we're going to escape. We're leaving Lehn City! I've decided to go to the God-forsaken Land with you!"

"Why?" the Sage frowned and asked. Although he was very happy that Horn was willing to go to the God-forsaken Land with them, wasn't it a bit too hasty to leave now?

"Isn't it very dangerous to leave now? Why not wait until the storm blows over?" Marshmallow said worriedly.

Horn told them what the old Douglas had said and then solicited everyone's opinions.

The matter of the divine stone had a great impact on the wild witches. They discussed it among themselves for a long time.

Seeing that they all seemed to have made their decisions, Horn said,

"Now, please raise your hands if you don't want to go to the God-forsaken Land with us."

After a moment of silence, Marshmallow, Stone, and Smiley raised their hands.

"Sorry, everyone. I think it's really too dangerous to set off now. I don't want to act with you," Marshmallow said in a weak voice.

Stone and Smiley also nodded to show that they agreed with Marshmallow.

"It's okay. I won't force you if you don't want to take risks," Horn said to them with a smile.

Although he smiled on the surface, he actually hoped that they would go together. However, it was their choice and Horn had no right to interfere.

"Then, the Sage, Voice, Match, Breeze, Hoe, Black Dog, Snowflake, plus the three of us, a total of ten people, will gather here after dark today!"

Everyone agreed and dispersed, making preparations for the journey.

Since the whole city was under lockdown, Hoe, who lived in the countryside, couldn't go home and had to wait at Marshmallow's house.

Horn returned to Douglas' carpentry shop and had the last meal cooked by the old Douglas. The atmosphere in the carpentry shop was heavy and depressing the whole afternoon.

Enoch and Annie were very sad about this.

Horn and the old Douglas didn't say a word to each other. The depressing atmosphere was really unbearable for Enoch and Annie. For them, leaving Lehn City wasn't a bad thing.

Although they might have to live a wandering life, weren't they also living in constant fear in Lehn City?

However, for Horn, leaving Lehn City meant something completely different!

There were still people he cared about in Lehn City, and there was his home!

He didn't want to leave!

He sat with the old Douglas the whole afternoon. Although they didn't talk, they still sat together!

The sky gradually darkened, and it was almost time to set off!

The old Douglas gave Horn a package, which contained water, dry food, some money, and a small booklet.

"This is my research when I was young. There are some research results I left in the Giant Stone City in the God-forsaken Land. You can go there to develop in the future."

Then he took out a beautifully crafted staff. There were dense carvings on the staff. Looking closely, they were all tiny magic arrays!

However, this staff was obviously still in an unfinished state, with a reserved inlay place at the top.

"This staff is for you..."

The old Douglas suddenly laughed.

"It's not finished, and it seems it will never be finished. Take it as a souvenir."

Horn's memories kept flashing. He had seen the old Douglas carving this thing many times. He never thought it was for him!

His nose twitched, and tears welled up in his eyes, covering his whole face.

Horn suddenly knelt down and kowtowed several times to the old Douglas. His forehead turned red and swollen!

"Teacher, I'll come back!

When one day wild witches don't have to hide anymore!

When I'm strong enough not to have to worry about the Church of the North Wind God,

I'll come back!

Please take good care of yourself!"

After saying that, Horn stood up, wiped the tears from his face, and resolutely set foot on the journey to leave Lehn City!

Enoch and Annie quickly followed.

Behind them, the old Douglas watched Horn's departing back.

Tears streamed down his old face!

It was completely dark. The seven wild witches who were going to leave Lehn City had already waited at the designated place.

As soon as Horn and the other two arrived, the ten people were all together!

At this time, all ten of them took off their hoods and stopped hiding. Once they left Lehn City, they didn't have to worry about being reported. Moreover, wearing mage robes would make them look like suspicious people, which was very unfavorable for their escape!

Everyone had seen the face of the Sage, Ian Parker.

Black Dog Brandt was a strong and dark-skinned man with a hideous scar on his face. He looked very tough in his leather clothes.

Match Daniel was a young man with short golden hair. He looked only fifteen or sixteen years old.

Hoe Luke was a middle-aged farmer with an honest face.

Breeze Anpa was a very energetic middle-aged uncle. He was always smiling and full of expectations for the future.

Voice was an old woman in her fifties. Horn had always thought there was an old man under the mask before.

Snowflake Shirley was a cold and beautiful blonde in her twenties. Her long hair reached her waist, and her figure was very attractive, but she always had a cold face.

Horn, Enoch, and Annie also introduced themselves to them. Although they were very surprised that Horn was a young man, they didn't look down on him.

In this world, it was a common belief that those with great abilities were the leaders!

Everyone had arrived. After a simple greeting, everyone was ready to start the escape operation.

Ian Parker carefully sensed the surroundings and said, "There are quite a few experts nearby. There are two white-clothed deacons, but they are still some distance away from the gate. So, as long as we deal with the deacons guarding the gate, we can go straight to the gate."

Horn scratched his chin and said, "So, the only thing restricting our escape now is that gate, right?"

"And the guards at the gate. But even without the guards, we won't be able to break through that iron gate for a while..."

Just as Ian Parker finished speaking, an extremely powerful pure white flame came from afar.

The astonishing heat directly killed many deacons and North Wind Knights guarding the gate. The flame exploded at the gate, and the extremely hard city gate was directly shattered. There was a clear path out of Lehn City!

A very powerful magic aura came from behind Horn and the others. Horn trembled slightly. It was the aura of the old Douglas!

And that flame was the seven-ring magic, Solar Flame!

Tears welled up in Horn's eyes again. He chanted a spell, and a mist floated out, covering the entire area of the city gate.

"Go quickly. Seize the opportunity! The effect of the flame is still there. My Mist Spell won't last long!"

"Snowflake, lower the temperature!"

A burst of cold air emanated from Snowflake and enveloped everyone, allowing them to walk out of the scorching city gate.

Although they were protected by her, everyone was more or less burned. After all, her ability was limited and couldn't completely resist the residual heat.

And it was precisely because of this residual heat that the nearby North Wind deacons couldn't chase them out.
