There are three continents in Ceylon, namely the Eastern Divine Continent, the Western Holy Light Continent, and the Northern Icy Continent!
Among them, the largest is the Eastern Continent where Horn is located. There are about a hundred churches entrenched here, and there are also several humanoid races such as the elves living here. The forces are very complex.
The Western Continent is half the size of the Eastern Continent. There are only two races on it, the feathered race and the human race. Both races believe in the Lord of Radiance, and they call the Western Continent the Holy Light Kingdom!
The Northern Continent is in the north between the two continents. It is covered with ice and snow all year round and is a paradise for powerful monsters. Even the Ice God System only occupies the edge of the Northern Continent!
The three continents are separated by the sea. There is still some trade between the Holy Light Continent and the Divine Continent, but the connection between the Icy Continent and the other two continents is very weak.
The God-forsaken Land that Horn and his companions are about to go to is located in the north-central part of the Eastern Continent, four church territories away from the territory of the North Wind Church. It would take a full four or five months to travel there on foot.
The God-forsaken Land is also known as the Land of Chaos. In terms of area, it is much larger than the diocese of the North Wind Church, and even has a larger population.
It got the alias of the Land of Chaos because the influence of the major churches there is very weak. The churches have no influence at all in the Land of Chaos.
In the God-forsaken Land, the strength of any priest or wizard will be greatly restricted. Even a third-order priest can't exert as much strength as a powerful soldier in that place.
And the more powerful the priest, the more severe the suppression!
The same goes for wizards! Their connection with gods or demons is extremely weak in that place, so their power naturally drops to the extreme.
Precisely because of this characteristic, the God-forsaken Land has become an ideal residence for many people who can't survive outside.
Such as wild wizards!
Of course, there are more lawless people because there is no order here!
However, it will still be some time before Horn and his companions reach the God-forsaken Land.
Their journey has just begun.
Ian Parker has planned their route. The first step is to leave the diocese of the North Wind Church as soon as possible. They have become well-known in the North Wind Church and may be reported and pursued at any time.
After leaving the diocese of the North Wind Church, they will enter the diocese of the God of Wealth.
There are many floating populations in this diocese, and the pursuit of wild wizards is not as strict as in other churches. As long as they are not discovered, no one will deliberately report them. After all, it's the territory of merchants. Making money steadily is the best, and fighting will affect business.
This should be the safest stop on the whole journey.
After passing through the territory of the God of Wealth, they have to cross a large forest called the Black Garb Forest, which is the territory of the elves.
Whether it's safe here completely depends on the attitude of the elves. If the elves are hostile, even church people won't be able to pass through the Black Garb Forest safely!
The main god of the elves is a very powerful being and usually doesn't give much face to other gods outside the Black Garb Forest.
The last part of the journey is the most dangerous.
The Misty Swamp!
It's full of dangers and infested with monsters. It's impossible to describe how dangerous it is in just a few words. There are also many man-eating races in the swamp, making it a human forbidden area.
Ian Parker chose this route because he had no other choice. If they want to reach the God-forsaken Land smoothly, they can only choose this way.
Because all other routes to the God-forsaken Land, whether by water or land, are blocked by the major churches around it. The degree of blockade is far beyond what that small town of Lien could compare to.
Horn and his companions have no other objections. After all, if Ian Parker weren't the curator of the library, they wouldn't even know the existence of the God-forsaken Land, let alone find the way there.
They first bought two carriages in a town near Lien City and some supplies for a long journey, and then began to prepare to set off.
As for hiring a mercenary group as escorts, which is essential for a long journey, Horn and his companions didn't even consider it.
Not to mention that they have their own secrets that can't be discovered by outsiders. Even if they did hire those mercenaries, it's hard to say who would protect who!
With the carriages, they can reach the God-forsaken Land in less than two months.
The sun was high in the sky, and the warm sunlight made everything on the ground feel warm. Under the gentle sunlight, two carriages were moving slowly.
Horn was lying in the carriage, flipping through the small booklet that old Douglas gave him before leaving.
In the short fight with Marcus, the ten of them lost a companion right at the beginning of the journey. After cremating Qingfeng's body, they set off on their journey.
Now his ashes are in a jar the size of a human head in the carriage. They plan to scatter the ashes in the river in the God-forsaken Land.
At least they'll send him to the God-forsaken Land too.
In that battle, Horn also suffered a serious injury around his eye. After being treated by Ian Parker, most of the wounds had healed.
However, there was a deep scar on his ear and a broken and empty eyeball in his left eye socket!
His left eye was blind. Ian Parker could only heal the flesh wounds, but he couldn't do anything about the broken eyeball. Although it seemed to have healed on the surface, he could no longer see anything.
Although Horn was helpless about this, he wasn't overly depressed. He still had one eye left. In that desperate situation, being able to survive was actually a blessing from fate. What more could he ask for?
For him, researching new knowledge and spreading magic to other wild wizards are the most important things.
As for how much of a price he has to pay in this process, Horn had made up his mind the moment he left Lien City!
The small booklet that old Douglas gave him before leaving was not big but thick, with dense Chinese characters and patterns on it.
These were all written by old Douglas himself. Horn stroked these words, and a nostalgic look appeared on his face.
Most of the content in the booklet is a record of two studies.
These two studies are:
The decomposition and combination of magic circles!
The incantation language of magic circles!
This is an area that Horn has never touched before.
The study of the decomposition and combination of magic circles states that:
The basis of a magic circle is a circle, and all kinds of magic effects are carried out on the basis of this circle.
All types of magic have a basic pattern inlaid inside the circle.
Triangle: Buff magic
Square:??
Pentagram: Elemental magic
Hexagram:??
Heptagram:??
Octagram: Transformation magic
Nonagram:??
...
A thought flashed through Horn's mind about the magic circles that appeared when he used illusion and when Annie summoned extraterrestrial creatures. One was a heptagram and the other was a hexagram!
So what exactly do these two types of magic circles represent?
