"Your world?" Jibril's curiosity grew even stronger. She smiled, amused. "Well, this really is a little world of its own. I'm impressed you can create something like this. Maybe I should bump up your rank as a leader~!"
"It's called Unlimited Blade Works. This is the landscape of my soul," Riku said firmly, lifting his head.
Unlimited Blade Works changes appearance depending on who casts it.
For Heroic Spirit Emiya, it was a red wasteland covered in swords, with fiery skies and massive gears churning in the dark. For Shirou Emiya, it was a similar sword-filled plain, under a sunset-orange sky — barren, empty, except for the countless blades.
"Enjoy the ride, Jibril of the Flugel!" Riku shouted, practically roaring with spirit.
As soon as the words left his mouth, the swords buried in the sand began to float into the air, each one pointing straight at Jibril.
Thanks to his magic reserves and natural talent, Riku's version of Unlimited Blade Works was way more impressive than either Emiya's.
"Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh!"
In the blink of an eye, dozens of weapons shot toward Jibril like falling stars, the air screaming as they tore through it.
"Ding—!"Jibril, however, didn't look nervous in the slightest. In fact, she looked thrilled. She casually raised her left hand and formed a defensive magic barrier.
It's worth noting: because this was Riku's world, there were no ambient spirits around. Jibril couldn't draw on external spirit energy — only what was within her. That alone weakened her significantly.
Still, a series of crashing sounds echoed as weapon after weapon hit her barrier, creating some glowing patterns — but not even close to breaking it.
Jibril, as a unique offshoot of the Flugel species, wasn't quite like the others. Technically, she was a defective version — her stats were lower than average when she was first created after losing a battle.
But Jibril had a unique ability: she could learn and evolve on her own. Over the years, she'd gone toe-to-toe with the strongest fighters of other races and grew stronger from every battle. Now, her power was on par with the strongest of the Flugel.
Her barrier magic? A self-modified version inspired by Elf magic, way tougher than the standard defense spells Flugel were given by their creators.
"That's it? Seriously?" Jibril looked disappointed and shook her head. That level of attack? Barely on par with a mid-tier Elf spell — completely useless against her.
"Oh, really?" Riku's voice remained flat and calm, not the least bit shaken by her mocking tone. His golden eyes were ice cold.
"Crack—!"Suddenly, a specific weapon slammed into the barrier — and a sharp cracking sound rang out!
A sword infused with anti-magic properties had pierced through her defense, something even powerful Dragonia attacks couldn't break.
"—!"Jibril's multicolored eyes flashed as she vanished in an instant, reappearing in the sky some distance away, dodging the attack completely.
"Ohhh? You almost got me. So one of those swords had anti-magic properties hidden in it, huh? All those flashy attacks were just a distraction?" Jibril narrowed her eyes and stared at Riku, finally getting serious. The killing intent she gave off was intense.
"Flugel's space manipulation — Sky Shift — what a pain," Riku said, still calm. "I really thought I could land a hit with that last one."
Sky Shift was a Flugel-exclusive ability. As long as it was within their line of sight, they could instantly teleport there. Even places they'd been to before — if they'd marked them — could be jumped to at will. It was like the Dimensional Array: Shangri-La, but way more versatile.
"Hehehe... to be honest, you did surprise me just a little," Jibril chuckled madly. Her face was goddess-tier beautiful, but the crazy expression she wore made her look unhinged — more like a monster than a person.
"So... to make sure your rare little head doesn't get damaged, I guess I'll take this seriously now." Her smile vanished in a heartbeat, replaced by cold, lethal intent.
Jibril blinked out of sight again — this time reappearing behind Riku, swinging a black energy blade straight for his neck without holding back.
"Clang—!"But it seemed Riku had expected that. One of the surrounding projected weapons flew in and intercepted the blow.
Still, even those powerful weapons weren't enough — Jibril's strike sliced it clean in half.
The moment of delay, though, was enough. Riku used the chance to retreat, speeding away with the help of Skystride Boots, putting distance between them.
At the same time, he reactivated his arsenal — hundreds of floating weapons closed in on Jibril, surrounding her from every angle.
It was an impressive sight. But Riku didn't believe for a second that this would be enough to take down a monster like Jibril. So he narrowed his eyes, gathering all the energy in his body and channeling it into his replica of Excalibur.
This next attack... would be the real deal.
