Knock Knock
Boom!
There was a sound of someone knocking on the door. Rudra, who heard the knock, got up to open it. But before he could even take two steps, a loud crash echoed—the door had been broken down.
Before Rudra could even process what was happening, two soldiers appeared on either side of him.
Their bodies were clad in golden armor, and they wore black-and-gold helmets. Swords hung from their waists.
"Huh?!"
Rudra was completely confused. Nothing made sense.
"Move!"
The guard on the left barked, shoving Rudra forward.
"Ugh…"
Rudra stumbled but managed to keep from falling. Anger rose inside him as he glared at the guard.
Just as he was about to say something in frustration, his attention shifted… to the chains now wrapped around his hands.
"When…? These weren't here before," he thought, alarmed.
Rudra tried to recall what had happened. Suddenly, a memory surfaced—the memory of the previous owner of this body.
As realization hit, Rudra turned to look at the guards… and then at the shattered door of the room.
The broken remains were scattered, and in their place stood more guards, also clad in golden armor.
Seeing them, Rudra quickly shut his mouth, stopping himself just in time from cursing the guard.
"Is he the one who stole your money?" a voice asked.
"Yes, sir. He's the one."
"You're sure? He's the guy?"
"Yes, sir. If you don't believe me, search him. You'll find my pouch with him."
"No.3, check him."
A captain, wearing armor of silver mixed with gold, stepped forward.
Alongside him, a fat man, around 37 to 40 years old, was brought to face Rudra.
The captain showed Rudra's face to the fat man.
The man looked at Rudra—now in handcuffs—and upon seeing him in such a state, an evil smile spread across his face.
He glanced at the captain and gave a subtle nod with his eyes.
Then, loudly and pointing at Rudra, he declared something with great confidence.
Following his words, the captain turned to No.3, one of the guards standing behind him, and ordered him to check Rudra.
No.3, wearing the same golden armor, approached Rudra and began to search him.
A few moments later, he pulled out a pouch from Rudra's pocket.
On the pouch was a name.
No.3 handed it over to the captain.
The captain looked at the name on the pouch, then at Rudra… and finally at Zhou Hei, the fat man.
"Take him. His fate will be decided in court," the captain commanded as he turned and started walking out of the room.
"Yes, sir!"
The guards responded in unison and began escorting Rudra out of the room.
At that moment, the hotel lobby was filled with people.
They all looked at Rudra, whispering among themselves.
Rudra looked around, lost. He didn't know what to do.
It hadn't even been that long since he had arrived in this world.
His memories hadn't fully merged with the body's past yet.
"System? Yes!"
"Only the system can save me from this situation."
Rudra thought to himself while being taken toward the elevator with the guards.
"Status," he said in his mind.
