Chapter 4 - Ch 04 -The capital city

Klaus immediately started packing his bag and all the little amount of stuff he had in his house. he had to move to another city and house to avoid suspicion, since he did not want to expose the fact that he had returned alive,

he was not the first one in history to return alive from a mutated gate, but surely the ones who had achieved such feats were some of the strongest hunters humanity had ever produced. An F- rank returning from the Mutated gate would only bring suspicion and trouble.

he had already brewed up a story in his mind, he would now become Klaus, the twin bother of Vance. He just had to get a new hair cut and shave his thick beard clean to look different yet alike to the extent that people would believe him.

plus with the increase in stats and the C ranked skill a qualitative change had happened in his face fat and body composition which looked much fitter than before.

With that thought in mind he immediately shaved his beard and trimmed his long hair to look more boyish than before.

then he picked up his suitcase and left for the railway station, he had worn a summer beach out fit with a Hawaiian hat on the head to make it seem like he was a tourist.

on reaching the railway station he purchased a ticket for the public coach of the train to the capital city of the blue country.

since there were a lot of rouges who boarded the public coach it was easier to blend in without detection.

thankfully he got a seat. As he looked at the outside view, he got into planning the next steps in his journey.

he had Chosen the capital city due to its vast amount of resources and huge number of hunters that helped to blend in with the crowd.

He needed to get a hunter's identity, a new one with significant amount of influence but one that doesn't garner much attention.

he also had to find accommodation, since owning a house in the capital was costly he had to find an inn currently with the money in his hand he could live for a month in a luxurious hotel.

but since he needed to sustain longer he chose to look in the outskirts of the city. he still had to plan his next plan of action to perfectly camouflage his skill and grow stronger without worrying about trouble coming his way.

the train stopped at an intermediate station and several passengers started boarding the train.

"uncle would you like to read a newspaper?" a jolly toned cute little girl around 10 years old appeared in front of Klaus bringing him out of his thoughts.

A smile formed on his face as he looked at the kid. "kid why are you selling newspapers instead of going to school?" Klaus asked in a friendly tone.

to which the kid replied with a tone of maturity "Uncle I do go to school, I sell newspapers after school to manage my tuition fees and food"

looking at the amount of maturity already at such a young age Klaus figured out that the child must have gone through some shit early in life. still he didn't have the liberty to completely help the child from her predicament.

but he still did what he could right now "little sister, I would like to purchase the whole pack of newspapers from you, give these to me and go home and rest for today"

with that Klaus took all the newspapers from her hand and also held the kiddo's bag and took out all the newspapers out of her bag,

"uncle stop those papers are from yesterday they are outdated"

"doesn't matter" Klaus replied with a smile

"(¯―¯٥)" perhaps the child realised that Klaus wanted to help her so she kept quiet for the rest of the time.

after Klaus paid her she left after saying " big brother, once I become a hunter I will repay you one day, please tell me your name"

"My name is Klaus .... Klaus roach"

hearing his name the little girl was stupefied who kept their last name roach?

nonetheless she turned around and walked away.

soon the magic engines of the train hummed, and the train started moving again. having so many newspapers, Klaus stuffed some in his bag and kept the rest of them on the side hanger. the capital city was still far away so he decided to read some newspaper.

the front headline was about the recent increase of murder cases in the capital city. The murderer was suspected to be an A-rank hunter who had a mysterious ability that helped him escape the grasp of law enforcers.

some speculations were about him having abilities related to speed, some said it was stealth but the theory that caught Klaus's eyes the most was shapeshifting, but this thought was immediately negated by the people as they believed that a shapeshifting skill must be of grater rank than A-rank

or either the shape-shifting ability must have come with severe restrictions. Klaus's eyes brightened at first on the mention of shapeshifters Klaus got excited. if he could get this skill he would be able to maintain multiple identities and would not have to worry about showing multiple abilities in public.

but on second thought the idea was not feasible, it was not confirmed whether the murderer really had such ability, and also he was not strong enough to try anything like that at the moment. he had to get strong as soon as possible.

the train continued on it's course for a few hours until it reached its destination. The capital of the country city#1. the terminal he unboarded the magi train was so crowded that he felt like he had stepped in a Chinese city just by looking at the gigantism of every single structure in the city.

Klaus travelled on foot throughout the city to save cost of taxi thankfully there was map available on phones these days, he did not get lost much. First he walked into a cheap inn that he came to know about after asking the station guard earlier.

after getting a room he kept all his luggage inside and had a refreshing bath. then he changed into new clothes and finally stepped out.

the first thing he did was to purchase some nets, insecticides, and jars. he walked towards the nearby public park. In the capital city tropical season was prevalent, so insects were present in abundance.

since forests were infested with mana beasts he could only search for insects in public parks or other old houses. Talking about sewage lines, he was not truly interested.

he looked around in the park, it was well maintained so he had to look in the bushes and plants. looking around he finally found a mound of soil with holes in the top. it was an ant colony. a smirk creeped up on his face.

it was time for some pest control.
