Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Sarang has been an actress since the age of 10. She was discovered during an elementary school play. One of the parents watching the children's play is a scout manager and was in awe with the child's performance. Sarang's mother accepted the offer without hesitation and was able to book an audition for Sarang.

Although Sarang was a little confused, she obediently followed her mother to venture into acting. To her, nothing mattered if her mother was happy. That audition has opened a lot of opportunities for Sarang. She had signed up to the talent agency immediately and started training acting almost immediately.

Training was easy for Sarang, someone with a natural talent. At that time all her teachers praised her for her natural acting talent and dubbed her as an acting genius and a face that could dominate the future industry.

Her career started small with acting projects for commercials and eventually she gets discovered by directors to play as the child counterpart of the main characters of drama series and movies.

At the age of 12 she managed to bag the main character of a movie and made it her breakthrough to showbiz. She was able to win many awards due to that role and made her the most sought-after child/teen star of her generation.

For three years, Sarang has enjoyed the limelight and attention as any child would but eventually, she gets tired. Sarang was happy with her achievements and her family celebrated her career as well at first. But then she felt suffocated with her barricaded life. She felt pressured to do better than her last project. It was too much for a growing child.

Her mother played a really big role in the pressure she endured. Her mother always reminded her to be the best but did not guide her how. She is often confused why her mother gives her a cold shoulder after failed auditions. It wasn't like she was the only child star around.

Even her social life was impacted by her fame. She can't get to school daily because of her schedule. She could not make friends as she only gets to spend little time at home and school. Kids in the industry are not as friendly she thought.

At the age of 14 Sarang pleaded with her mother to stop acting and quit showbiz altogether, but her mother was insistent. Her father sided with Sarang, but her mother has always threatened divorce and fighting for full custody of Sarang.

Sarang's home life was not much better due to her parents constantly fighting for Sarang's well-being. Her only solace was her father. Her father has always cheered on her and supported her in the best way possible.

Her father, being a writer, showed her the power of books and literature. It was her escape from her mother's controlling personality. Reading gave her comfort and sometimes the small lessons she learned through the books as a teen gave her hope. Hope that she could someday escape the tiring life her young life had to endure.

And now Sarang at the age of 15, has no friends and a personality that is used to doing business smiles has met 15-year-old Yejun.
