A horrific night,
At deep forest,
Background Intense Music Going on. The scene looks horrific. I think a girl is running. But why? From whom? And then we saw..a creepy creature chasing her. As she ran through the forest, the rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs beneath her feet seemed to echo through the silence. The girl's breath came in ragged gasps, her heart pounding in her chest like a wild drumbeat. Behind her, the creature's thunderous roar grew louder, and washing over her like a wave of terror.
As she ran, she missed the long rock and tripped on the ground. The monster was closing in. She cried out, trying to stand up, but couldn't. She felt the weight of something ominous. She wasn't ready to face this. She didn't want to believe that the weight belonged to the thing she'd been running since she came here. But she tried, she tried to look up, and saw the monster looming above her.
THE NEXT MORNING ~
SOMEONE'S POV -
I woke up, but my eyes felt heavy. I tried to open them slowly, and when I finally did, I saw a house that didn't feel like mine. The events of the previous night came flooding back, and I was hit with a wave of panic. 'Am I dead?' I wondered. 'Am I in heaven or hell?' I thought about my life, and since I hadn't done anything bad, I hoped I was in heaven. I looked around, and the house seemed straight out of a fairytale. 'Oh, God, I want to see You,' I whispered. But then reality hit me - I'm only 19 years old, and I'm dead? Please, someone tell my parents about my passing...Take note, people of heaven: I am Han Sooha from Seoul City. 😭
As I heard a sound coming out of the room, I sprang up from the bed and tried to pose like a professional boxing champion, attempting to shield myself while showing off my supposed toughness. 'Am I about to meet my maker?' I thought, my heart racing wildly. But then, I saw a girl who looked around my age. Whoa, she was cool! Her outfit seemed straight out of a fairytale, and her short hair suited her perfectly. Her face was so soft... I found myself wondering what skincare routine she followed. Was she even real? An angel, perhaps? 'Oh my gosh, what am I seeing?' I thought, still trying to wrap my head around the situation. 'I'm really dead, aren't I?'
THE ANGEL ~ Are you okay, lady? (Whoa...Her voice is so cute)
ME ~ Yeah, but are you taking me somewhere? Like to...you know, the afterlife or something?
THE ANGEL ~ (confused) Um, what? No, nothing like that.
ME ~ Then why are you here? Where am I? (Shocked)
THE ANGEL ~ You're in my house, in Orville. I found you in the Arden forest. I thought you were dead at first, but you were breathing. I checked for injuries, and you didn't have any. You were just unconscious, so I brought you here. You're safe now. (hands over a cup of soup)
ME ~ (taking the cup) Oh, thanks...I guess. So, I'm not dead yet. That's a relief.
THE ANGEL ~ You're in Orville, and...well, it seems like you're from Earth.
ME ~ (looking around) You're not from Earth? (notices the angel's unusual attire)
THE ANGEL ~(smiling) No, I'm from around here. But I'm human, just like you...or at least, similar.
ME ~ (confused) Similar? What do you mean? This isn't Earth, is it?
THE ANGEL ~ (serious) No, this is Atarah. It's...different from Earth. And we're in the capital, Orville.
ME ~ (laughing nervously) Okay, stop messing with me. This is some kind of prank, right?
THE ANGEL ~ (frustrated) I'm not joking. How can I make you believe me?
ME ~What's going on?
THE ANGEL ~ Can you tell me what happened last night? You were being chased by a werewolf. Do werewolves exist in your world?
ME ~ I've read about them in books, but I never thought they were real.
THE ANGEL ~ Have you seen any news about real werewolves??
ME ~ Okay...look, I need to get back to my family. Where's Seoul? I want to go home.
THE ANGEL ~ Once you entered Atarah, your existence on Earth vanished. You're not going back.
ME ~ (frustrated) What do you mean? I'm leaving. (starts walking away)
MY ANGEL ~ Wait, where are you going? You don't know anything about this world!
(I storm out of the house, and the angel calls out after me)
THE ANGEL ~ Hey, listen to me!
(I ignore her and open the door, where I find another girl standing, looking at me intensely)
(I walk past her and outside, taking in the sights of the village)
ME ~ (to a passerby) Excuse me, where's Seoul City?
PASSER BY ~ (confused) Seoul? I don't think that's a place around here...
THE ANGEL ~ Oh, My apologize Lady, She's a bit confused.
ME ~ Mwo-yah, why are you following me?
THE ANGEL ~ Stop, you'll be in danger. Don't tell anyone you're from Earth. Okay, let me prove it to you. (she gestures to the girl whom I met after opening the door.)
THE ANGEL ~ Look, she's a vampire. Do vampires exist in your world?
ME ~ Are you kidding me? Am I in a movie or something?
THE ANGEL ~ Astra, show her your ability.
(Astra reveals her fangs and approaches me)
ME ~ What the...? (I stumble back)
{Astra's eyes turn bloody red, and a strange light emanates from them. I feel my eyelids getting heavy, and everything starts to blur. The last thing I know, I'm passing out.}
END OF SOOHA'S POV-
The angel, Sooha thinks,is actually Kiana, the daughter of the Emperor's closest knight, Koa. Kiana's genes have inherited the power of Gladiokinesis, the ability to manipulate and create knives. And her friend Astra is a vampire. Vampires in Atarah possess various abilities. Notably, the people of Atarah are immortal, except for humans, who are mortal. Astra has multiple abilities, including biting with her fangs, hearing thoughts, and her unique ability to render someone unconscious with her eyes.
KIANA ~ Why did you make her unconscious?
ASTRA ~ She was talking too much. I got annoyed.
KIANA ~ Seriously? I just wanted you to show her your abilities, not knock her out. Now let's take her home.
ASTRA ~ Why are you bothering? Let her go. She's annoying.
(Kiana gives Astra a side-eye, and Astra reluctantly helps)
ASTRA ~ Sooha...that's her name.
KIANA ~ Huh? Sooha...
ASTRA ~ She's been repeating her name and some guy named Sohu. Sounds like she's got a lot on her mind.
KIANA ~ (smiling) Sooha...she's really beautiful, isn't she?
ASTRA ~ (rolling her eyes) Beautiful, but super annoying.
KIANA ~ (laughing) Come on, Astra. We need to help her figure things out.
ASTRA ~ (sighing) Why do you always help people who are annoying, anyway?
After several hours, Sooha regained consciousness and burst into tears, crying out loudly. Kiana rushed to her side.
KIANA ~ 'Hey, what's wrong? What happened?' (concern etched on her face)
SOOHA ~ I want to go home.(sobbing)
(Kiana's expression softened.)
KIANA ~ You can't..
ASTRA ~ She's right. You can't go.
SOOHA ~Take me home...this place isn't for me. (Crying out loudly)
KIANA ~ Hey, don't worry. You're safe here.
SOOHA ~ I saw something in my dream...the place where I was being chased, and the creepy creatures...they were trying to kill me.
ASTRA ~ Really?(Raising her eyebrows)
(Sooha nodded.)
SOOHA ~ I've been having dreams about this place for two months. And now I'm starting to believe that this place is...different.
ASTRA ~ Look..Stop crying. Be a strong lady.
(Kiana shot Astra a disapproving look.)
KIANA ~ Astra, can't you see she's upset?
(Sooha's eyes locked onto Kiana and Astra.)
SOOHA ~ I remember now...I saw two girls helping me, but I didn't see their faces clearly. But now I do remember your faces...both of you. (Sooha's eyes seemed to bore into their souls, as if recalling a vivid memory.)
