Chapter 7 - CH7:The Escape

The two remaining assassins stood frozen, their eyes wide with disbelief as the stench of burning flesh filled the forge. The anguished screams of their fallen comrade still echoed, twisted into a grotesque harmony with the roar of the furnace. Flames licked hungrily at what remained of the body, melting steel and bone alike.

Rage ignited in their veins. They had expected an easy kill—a simple mission to eliminate a crestless boy and a pair of blacksmiths. Not this. Not death. Not humiliation.

Before they could recover, the air around them shifted—metal groaned.

Boran, pale and bloodied, raised his trembling arm. His eyes were wild with grief and fury, lips pulled back in a snarl. The forge responded to his will.

The heavy anvil beside him trembled, then shot through the air like a meteor, guided by Boran's command over metal.

The assassin turned too late.

CRACK!

The anvil struck with a sickening crunch. Skull shattered like pottery, and brain matter burst in a red mist. Blood sprayed across the forge wall, steaming where it met the glowing coals. The body crumpled lifelessly, twitching once before going still—eyes open, blank, staring into nothingness.

Only one assassin remained.

And now… he stood alone.

That is the problem wind affinity crest users, if they stop ,then it is done for them. They can even be taken out by crest users with level below them.

The last one did give them to chance take on him, he learned from the mistake of his fellow comrade, he moved swift, and to take on the most dangerous of the trio who poses a threat to him , Baron.

Baron was caught unexpected this time.

"Noooo Masterrr" shouted Kael.

Blood spilled like a fountain.

Argggh.

Kael's blood spilled all over with his left hand flying in air. He clutched his shoulder tightly.

Baron took this opportunity to punch his hand enhanced with metal attribute into the attacker's stomach, a huge chunk of it got blasted and spilled ton of blood and pieces of organs around everywhere.

With a thud the attacker fell onto the ground, with blood dripping from corner of the mouth, he took his last breath.

The forge became dead silent, with ash of fire sparks and dust going everywhere, what should be an happy night turned into a disaster.

Lyra who was petrified by the scene, slowly came out of stupor immediately brought first aid to treat Kael and Baron, being an experienced maid she had done a great job, but her hands were still shaking from what they experienced.

Baron brought Bram's head closer to his body, due to the tension before he could not express his emotion outward, deep emotions of sorrow welled up inside him, tears gushed non-stop from him, from who knows where. His heart tightened.

"Wake upp" he yelled, he behaved like a mentally retarded one who was no sane in his mind, the child before him was not only a student to him, he was like his own child. He picked him up from streets and tutored him since then like his own child.

His mind was in a disarray, the ground below got all wet.

"Master he is already dead, he is no more. We should hurry up and move from here or else they might kill u directly now."

"Shuuut uppp this is all because of you wretched demon , if you would haven't come into our lives, all this wouldn't have happened."

Lyra and Kael got shocked immediately. Kael mind got short-circuited, the master who always seemed wise, is the one saying this?

"Am I really someone who brings unluck? I have caused death of my mother , now Bram, who was more brother to me then my brothers." Kael thought, but not a single drop of tear fell for Bram who was dead before him.

Lyra placed a hand on Kael's shoulder and comforted-"Kael don't take it to heart, Grandpa Baron is now filled with sorrow, I hope you understand."

Baron took Bram's body and buried it into the yard behind. He immediately burnt the forge.

Lyra, Kael, Baron saw the forge burning away , immediately the trio rushed to Gael's shop, there Baron explained everything that happened at the forge.

Gael responded-"Do one thing, tomorrow there is copper and iron ore goods cart I will be sending to neighboring town, you can hide in it and depart, since they don't know you were still alive, by the time they check the raged forge for any clues , you will be able to escape."

"Ok" replied Baron. He immediately turned to Kael and said-"Boy get out of here, we can longer burden ourselves and get in danger because of it."

Kael thought for a moment, bowed one last time to Baron as a sign of respect.

"I know, you can't forgive me for what happened, but if you ever need me , I will always be there to help you Master, and thank you for your teachings."

Kael thanked Gael and Lyra one last time before departing.

Lyra wanted to rush out when Baron grabbed her by hand and said-"Girl stop, I may have failed as teacher now and cannot forgive myself for blaming the boy in the rush of emotions, but even so thinking afterwards , I can only say it is best for both of us."

"We have our own problems, to deal with."

Gael said sighing-"Fate always mocks one, with it's cruel mannerisms. Girl what Baron said is true, you have your own problems to deal with, now according to House Vahn and others who you know , you are dead, if you are discovered then you will be in huge danger."

Next Day...

Lyra and Baron got into the cart and departed to the next nearby town. Gael who is regular well known ore businessman in the area, had some connections, so his cart passed by without any-checks through the gate.

From the next town Lyra and Baron travelled far away from the eyes of house Vahn.

At the yard behind the forge a corpse was lying, in front of a man in his early twenties.

Far away from a Mountain top, a one a handed boy clenched his fist and looked at the town and muttered-"I will destroy you one day."
