The Great Oni
Volume (1) Benoni Chapter (21)
Li Fan was walking along the street, looking around the city.
Little by little, memories he had almost forgotten came back to mind.
While he kept walking, Li Fan arrived at more than half of the city.
Some people were following behind him, but for the moment he ignored them.
When he reached a slightly deserted neighborhood, about four black cars drove up; roughly thirty gangsters holding baseball stick and iron pipes surrounded him.
The gangsters were covered with tattoos, and their bodies were stocky and stiff.
Li Fan became silent.
He could not think why those people wanted to pick a fight with him.
Without even saying any real words, the gangsters immediately attacked him.
For the gangsters, settling things quickly before the police arrived and leaving the scene was urgent.
The one in front was a big man about 6 ft 7 in tall; with a baseball bat he struck down at Li Fan.
Li Fan, with an immediately non-human speed, stepped in and grabbed that gangster.
"WHOOM"
After that he stretched out a long leg and kicked the gangster's abdomen.
It was clear that the gangsters were only ordinary people, and they absolutely could not make even a small wound on Li Fan.
One thug hit Li Fan's back with a big iron pipe.
But only his iron pipe bent, and taking Li Fan's palm strike he was flung far away.
When the gang leader saw the situation going badly, he immediately shouted out.
"Run… run!"
If the police arrived soon, the problem would grow bigger.
When Li Fan's gaze reached him, the gang leader felt as though he had met a tiger's look; his back went cold.
"Damn it," the gang leader cursed and tried to run.
But ten meters away, Li Fan re-appeared behind him in an instant and kicked him.
The gang leader balanced himself and punched back.
Li Fan met the man's fist with his own.
"CRACK"
Immediately the gang leader's entire hand broke; the bone pierced through the flesh, and blood turned red.
"Aaah!" the gang leader screamed in pain, sweat-beads like pearls falling from his forehead.
Seeing this terrifying scene, all the gangsters got into the cars and, leaving their boss, drove away.
Li Fan then punched the boss in the abdomen.
"BOOM"
Because of the pain, the gang leader screamed, and because Li Fan's blow had power, blood also poured out.
"Who told you to do this?"
Li Fan did not speak any long words; he asked shortly.
The gang leader, like a whining dog, cried and replied,
"What do you mean—I don't know!"
Li Fan grabbed the boss's good left arm and snapped it into two.
"CRACK"
"Aaah!"
"Die, aaah!"
The gang leader screamed painfully.
Without asking again, Li Fan dislocated the shoulder joint.
"Aaah— wait… wait a second, boss!" the gang leader screamed, tears even coming out.
Li Fan did not stop; he dislocated the other shoulder joint as well.
"Aaahhhhh!"
"This is the last time I ask. If you don't answer, I'll break both your legs.
Who sent you?" Li Fan asked in a calm but fearsome voice.
"I'll tell, boss! It was Little Lord Jiao!"
Li Fan raised an eyebrow and asked,
"Who is Little Lord Jiao?"
"Uh…" The gang leader hesitated.
"The Jiao mining-group's third son, Jiao Ning, boss," the gang leader replied quickly when he saw Li Fan's impatience.
"Who is Jiao Ning?" Li Fan frowned.
After more than fifty years, how could he remember a petty punk?
"I have Little Lord Jiao's phone number in my phone," the gang leader said quickly, pointing at his trouser pocket.
But as both his hands were useless, he looked as if he wanted to cry.
Li Fan only raised an eyebrow, reached into the pocket, and took the phone.
"Phone password?" Li Fan asked.
"min aung hlaing ma aye low," the gang leader answered hurriedly.
Li Fan nodded, entered it, then broke the gangster's leg and left.
"Aaah, you dog!" When the gang leader no longer saw Li Fan, he yelled angrily.
But Li Fan returned, broke the other leg, and left again.
Police sirens were coming, so Li Fan left quickly.
About one mile away from the scene, Li Fan re-appeared and looked at the phone.
The last name dialed was a name called Dog-jiao, so Li Fan called that number.
"tu… tu… tu…"
On the other side, Jiao Ning, whose chest was aching from Li Fan's blow, was heading to the hospital; when the phone rang, he answered.
He had hired an underworld boss to break Li Fan's legs.
Because the caller ID was the gang leader's number, Jiao Ning grabbed it in a rush.
"How did it go? Did it succeed?" Jiao Ning asked in a hurry.
"Who are you?" Li Fan's voice came from the other side.
Jiao Ning suddenly trembled so much he almost let out a squeak and slammed down the phone.
Then he quickly powered the phone off.
"Damn, damn—unless thirty gangsters still couldn't beat Li Fan—it must have been cops nearby and they got arrested," Jiao Ning stammered, making excuses.
On the other side, Li Fan still could not remember where this Jiao Ning came from.
Anyway, he did not pay much attention to that matter.
Frankly, he felt too lazy to bother solving it.
Rather than dealing with that, Li Fan wanted to stroll around the city and relax.
Walking and walking, Li Fan arrived at the city center plaza.
Suddenly, in the middle of the plaza, he saw a huge statue over 200 meters tall and was startled.
In former times there was never such a big statue in Yan-Kin City.
When he saw the face of the statue, Li Fan's eyes bulged in shock.
"Ar… Artha?"
Li Fan, shocked, grabbed a passer-by who was passing and asked,
"Do you know whose statue that is?"
That person looked at Li Fan as if seeing someone coming out of a cave and answered,
"The founder of the Aarunyuu Empire, kid. Don't you know?"
Li Fan stood there for a while, stunned.
"So that means I really went to the past, and what I did in the past actually happened," Li Fan muttered, with a half-crazy expression.
