He finishes reading the report, notes some things in his pocket diary and leaned back in his chair to relax, this time being cautious of the CCTV.

Out of all the work given by Moran only establishing relationships between the victim and their family members were left. The four inspectors are doing the work as if on the battlefield.

After goofing up a bit, Moran gets up and goes out of the office and gets a cup of coffee for himself. While he is sipping on his coffee he walks, making his way to the room responsible for holding all the records regarding the detectives and police officers from all the fractions including his. He replayed how the division of inspectors and detectives took place in IOCOA in his mind.

Contacting the suitable people for this job and for them to accept it was only the first part of selection that took place. The second part was where the main selection occurs. An aptitude test. There is a total score of ten and can be divided into three parts. Below three are disqualified, above three are given the job of inspector and above six are given the role of detectives.

There are some people I was extremely worried about whether they actually passed or not.

After walking a few minutes, Moran had completed his coffee, and also reached the intended place. A staff member(female) who was just passing by took the used cup from Moran's hand.

"Can you bring me another cup?"

"Sure" said the staff member with a bright smile.

"Thanks a lot."

With assistance of the staff in charge of that room Moran got all the files needed and began checking it out while sipping on his second cup of coffee. Two detectives got the highest score, one was Moran with a total score of 9, the other scored 10 Juliette Laurent, detective of fraction

All the inspectors' scores varied between 5 to 6, which indicated their talent but these excluded the inspectors of fraction 1. Aiko got three and the rest, a failing grade. It was already a bad idea to accept incompetent inspectors but not bad enough to not even try to hide it. Moran printed a copy of test scores as well as their respective test answers of all the members of fraction 1.

I wonder if they were from a big family. But even if you are rich at home it does not really concern your workplace unless you have made donations or related to the manager or you are the manager yourself.

Moran for an hour and a half observed other fractions doing their job. They had extraordinary teamwork. Investigation with a team is like playing soccer. The teamwork matters more than the individual talent. Most will argue about that and of course there are some exceptions but an undeniable fact is that to win a soccer match, the players have to be in sync. In that sense, if we take a look at fraction 1, the incompetence of the inspectors is negligible and we produce good results as a team.

Yesterday at home, I looked into the chief and found some notable factors about him which correlates with the basis of the division of each fraction. The chief had a PhD degree in psychology and has been a leading figure in many researches regarding the human mind. What leads a person's mind resorts to killing as in the sense that most murders are not done by psychopaths. Similarly, not all psychopaths commit murders but the most gruesome murders or serial murders are done by psychopaths. This idea was the basis of his another research which deep dived into the minds of psychopaths. These two researches were some of the many researches by him. So the chief appears to be keeping the personality of each individual in mind while dividing the fractions as to who will be good in what type of teamwork.

On his way back to the office Moran ran into the chief who appears to be in a rather good mood. Moran greeted the chief and the latter began asking questions about how the investigation is going. The former was expecting a scolding like yesterday but was relieved when proved wrong and that the intentions were rather just curiosity.

"I was actually on my way to the office to conclude the case because after investigating it does not, in fact, appear to be a serial murder case. We will be investigating the unidentified drug from this day onwards."

"I see. Wish you luck in your investigations."

Moran bowed to the chief and left for his office. He announced the change of investigations and the room fell silent. Everyone felt that their investigations till this point were pointless and their effort will go to waste. Moran caught on to this.

"Your investigations till this point were not pointless since it was today's report which directed me towards this insights. However, do not have these thoughts in the future investigations as this will affect negatively in your performances. Not each of our theories has to be correct but surely that does not determine our failure."

The inspectors got to work and a minute later they received a notification on their phone. Moran added them to a group and sent some directions relating to the case and one private message to Sebastian.
