Chapter 12 - Chapter Eleven: The Dreamwalker

He had long known his own predilections; unlike Xylos, who would indiscriminately pursue women, he valued technique. He believed true success lay in captivating a woman solely through his own charm.

Xylos finally managed to sort out the situation with Misty Yi. He reflected on the women he had pursued in the past, realizing his true favorite had always been Penny. In the company, he had always taken good care of her. When he first heard Silence speak of his affection for Penny, Xylos had been deeply annoyed. He couldn't understand why he, who had spent day in and day out with Penny, was less favored than Silence, who rarely saw her. And then, she married that scoundrel, Echo, whom he had always regarded as a thorn in his side. What was so great about that kid? Only because he constantly flattered his father, did his father favor him.

Willow Snow walked through the nearby exhibition halls. She had always known her husband, Ancestor Yuan, had other women, more than just one, but she had endured it. She knew there was no love left between her and this man. Her only recourse was to gain as much control over the company's real power as possible and transfer assets to her name. At first, she found his resolute opposition to Penny very strange. It wasn't until he was drunk that he finally revealed the truth: she never dreamed that Penny would be...

Black Stone was currently at home, looking at old photographs of himself and Penny. Her suicide six months prior had profoundly impacted him. He still couldn't believe it was real. Because of this, he often drank heavily, leading to his dismissal from his previous car factory job. Later, he…

...holding his hands, as if he had just been holding a shotgun.

"I'm beginning to wonder who the devil is."

Upon arriving at the station, he felt a dizzy spell as soon as he stepped off the train. The dream seemed to be bleeding into his reality. He suspected he had truly fired a gun, even believing he could smell gunpowder on his hands. Yet, it was impossible.

He clutched the flowers in his hand and entered the cemetery, feeling a profound weariness. In the western section, he noticed a young woman, perhaps in her twenties, holding the same type of flowers as his, kneeling before a tombstone.

He hurried over. It was Heart Chilling's tombstone.

"You knew Heart Chilling too?"

The young woman didn't look at him, but asked coldly, "Ah, I am the son of the family she served as a maid for during her lifetime. I erected this tombstone for her."

The young woman finally turned to him, asking directly, "Then, can you tell me anything about her? After all, I received her heart donation."

"You... you're..."

"Forgive my lack of introduction. My name is Vivienne."

Approximately half an hour later.

"I see," Vivienne nodded, then prepared to leave.
