Chapter 13 - 12. Parties are Fun

"Hey! It's not that big. Even a kid has more bearing power than you." He scolded her and she again made a crying face. "How would you know when it's me who is feeling the pain? You are such a cruel person. You can't even be a little considerat-....aahh ouch!" She winced as he ignored her blabberings and put the cotton on her wound again.

Jennifer closed her eyes shut, gripping the bedsheet with both her hands while he completed cleaning her wound and applying some medicine before putting on a bandaid. "It's done." He looked at her as her eyes were still closed shut, with her head turned to the other side.

"Umm...thank you sir..." she cleared her throat, tugging a random strand of hair behind her ear, and he looked at her for sometime before standing up. "You should see a doctor. It's glass, so I think you need to take an injection." The color of her face immediately drained on the mention of the injection, and she widened her eyes. She has always feared the needle of the syringe since she was a toddler.

"I am perfectly fine. You can see." She stood up on her feet, and he looked at her as she swirled in front of him, forcing a smile at him. "I do not need to see any doctor. See." She tripped around him, stumbling to walk, and he rubbed his temple, seeing her antics.

"Ms. Jennifer..." he said in a warning tone. "Sir I am really fine you see. I am good to g-" she said confidently and walked towards him but instantly stumbled and fell on him. He caught her arms in the nick of time as her face crashed with his chest and she mentally facepalmed herself. "What the hell!" She heard him murmur under his breath while she groaned to herself.

Jennifer promised herself that she won't embarrass herself in front of him.

"Ms. Jennifer." Tan spoke as she kept her head down, still in the same position, on his chest.

"Miss-"

"Wait! I am embarrassed." She said, interrupting him that instant and he scrunched his facial features, raising his hands in air forming fists but he immediately straightened his face as soon as she wiggled to stand properly.

"I am sorry sir. I didn't mean to fall for you." She lowered her eyes.

"What?" He widened his eyes after hearing her and she immediately shook her head.

"I mean fall on you, on you." He cleared his throat, looking here and there to ease the air.

"You need to see a psychiatrist first." He gave her a last glare before leaving her room and she made a crying face again, jumping on the bed and pressed her face down into the pillow. "Ahhh!" Jennifer squealed in frustration while Tan breathed out a sigh of relief after reaching his room.

"This girl! This girl is giving me headache." He pressed his forehead lightly, shaking his head.

Another day in London passed in a jiffy which was summoned up with meetings and a conference. "I hope you are coming to the party Mr.Williams." Jennifer heard one of the board members from the conference speak to Tan.

"I am not sure about it Mr.Kang." She frowned at his answer but kept silent until the two talked and then parted ways.

"Why are we not going to the party?"

Jennifer asked Tan once after settling in the car to go back to the hotel. "Because I don't want to." He said nonchalantly and started the engine. "Huh? How can you not want? Don't you think we all need to relax after working." She raised her brows expectantly and he gave her a blank look.

"So, do you really want to go to a business party?" Tan asked emphasizing 'business party', raising his brows.

"Ofcourse! Parties are fun." Jennifer chirped.

"Are you sure?" Tan asked again and Jennifer nodded her head. "Ok then. Enjoy." Tan said smirking.

"He's such a boring person, who doesn't need refreshment in life, and moreover parties are the best way of getting some fun in life." Jennifer scoffed thinking.

....

"So, what say, Ms. Jennifer. Are you enjoying the party?" Tan asked in a taunting tone, looking at Jennifer's scrunched up face, which clearly showed that she didn't like the party at all.

"What enjoying? Huh! Why didn't you tell me that business parties are boring as hell?" She asked annoyed.

"Well, you were so eager that I was not able to stop you. Now enjoy, as much as you want. I am going to have some conversation with other businessmen." He said going towards the men beckoning him to join, leaving Jennifer behind.

She was no doubt looking breathtaking, in lavender one-piece bodycon dress that reached just above her feet and flowy behind, with light frill on one shoulder. She was wearing lavender stilletos making her look a bit tall, but still that 5'3" woman couldn't match the height of 5'11" man making her still look shorter than him. She made a beautiful bun of her hair with some strands of hair curled hanging on the side of her face. She looked so pretty that her employer couldn't take his eyes off of her back at the hotel. He had to blink a couple of time to read his eyes away from her. He mentally scolded himself for letting his mind go hazy over those beautiful hazel eyes.

He was talking business to some men, but still his eyes were fixed on her. A few minutes later, he saw a man approach her, starting a conversation, making him feel a bit something in his heart which he didn't like, so, he loosened his tie a bit, cleared his throat excusing himself going towards the talking duo.

He reached Jennifer and said.....
