After spending an hour moving the energies inside him around. Josh noticed that the speed ability had already increased to the third level. Just from him experimenting with it. "Great but now I have to go see Joe and James for my next experiment"
leaving the building and heading to the shelter behind it. Josh made it halfway before Tom sped in front of him. Stopping 2 ft from Josh he said "I think it's time for you to leave the community you're just a waste of food and space that other people deserve"
Josh replied with a slight smirk" whatever you say Tom. where is Joe and James" Tom immediately scowled and said "who do you think you are. They're out on a job and it's my responsibility to get you out of here before they get back"
Josh didn't want to deal with this and immediately started walking past Tom to go check on the other people of the settlement. but Tom wasn't having it and he tried grabbing the back of Josh's neck. But Josh was waiting for this. Activating his new speed powers as Tom started to grip the back of his neck he pulled out of his hand turned around and threw a quick jab.
Tom jumped back just in time to dodge it and shouted " how did you get that fast. I'm going to crush you you bug" Josh replied "don't worry about me I recommend you give up and leave me alone. All I want is peace!" Josh then merged his power with the speed power. Leveling the speed power up to double of Tom's. As Tom lunged Josh was quickly able to grab toms wrist. Then pulling Tom in for a strong gut punch. Causing Tom to immediately throw up and go unconscious.
Josh Just started laughing hysterically "I will never let anyone walk over me again I will fight to gather strength until I can have peace with my daughter"
The community was quite large a big lot behind the building with several RVs , party rental tents, small structures and a few trailers. They moved them from the trailer park one of which being the medical trailer. The others being for housing. In the corner there was a spaced out area with a fire pit. With about 40 seats going around it.
Along with there being a washing station for clothes and dishes and other cleaning tasks. It was definitely not the best place to live. However it was better than a lot of options that were out now in days. At least they are safe for now.
Josh then continued to the community. First making sure the elders had food. (his favorite elder was a sixty year old woman Sally who lost her child during falling powers. She treated Josh like her surrogate son. after chatting with her he made sure the kids had toys and snacks. Then helped clean up around the settlement.
After a half hour he saw Tom limp to his tent holding his stomach. A small girl named Delilah who was around the age of eight was helping Josh clean and asked him " what happened to Tom. Did karma get him?" Josh replied with a snicker "No I did" Delilah replied with "I knew you were strong"
she had believed in Josh since he saved her at the beginning. When Josh was heading to his work for safety. He stumbled across a burning house with Delilah in the window. She was screaming for help. Josh quickly ran over and told her to jump. He caught her as she did.
She no longer had anyone. so Josh took her with him. On the way back some creeps attempted to kidnap her.
Josh decided to use his body to protect her. Even though he was banged up it worked and they made it safely. It was the only good deed he had done after the falling powers.
They laughed together and then Delilah started looking strangely at Josh and asked him "have you looked in a mirror lately?" he replied "no I have not why" She then stated "well you should it seems like there's purple streaks in your hair. did you dye it?" "what?" Josh replied
He then ran to a mirror in the building and noticed he had several streaks of purple hair. maybe it was something to do with his powers. He just left it at that having too much on his plate. He put a baseball cap on to hide the abnormalities. it was at that time he noticed Joe and James strolling in with several backpacks of canned food but something was wrong .
James and Joe both look pretty banged up with burnt clothes. and they had two new people with them that were banged up also.
After rushing over Josh asked them if they had trouble and Joe explained to him that their protection job went bad. A group of people in white robes attacked they were able to grab the food and get away but very few survived. Just the two with them who were also powered individuals. Ryan who had a level two wind power and Ron who had a level four Earth ability.
Hearing their abilities Josh smiled and reached his hand out stating " hi I'm Josh it is nice to meet you welcome to our group"
As they shook his hand he felt the power enter. He now had four balls of energy but he wasn't done with his experiments. He asked Joe and James to come over to him. As he leaned towards them he put his hands on the back of their necks. He felt their power also enter inside of him. "What are you doing weirdo?" James asked. Josh replied with" I need to talk to you two in private. As they were about to walk into an office they heard a Loud boom and several screams from outside on the side of the building. they quickly ran to see what was happening.
