Chapter 1 - Anna Prescott

Ring!

Ring!

Riiinnnggg!

The sharp chime of the school bell echoed through the classroom, marking the end of another long day. The metallic clang faded slowly, replaced almost instantly by the scraping of chairs and the rustling of notebooks.

Inside the modest, sunlit classroom, students were still seated moments before attentively listening to the lady teacher who stood before the blackboard. But as soon as the bell rang, the atmosphere shifted. A tidal wave of chatter and movement erupted.

Without delay, the students began packing their books and notes into their bags with frantic urgency, eager to leave. One by one, they streamed out of the classroom, laughing and chattering as if the entire day's tension had lifted in an instant.

However, a single student remained seated at the back of the classroom. His name was Taegyun Park. While the others had bolted, he moved at a slower pace, as if dragging the weight of something heavier than his school bag.

Taegyun silently slid his books into his bag, zipped it shut, and stood up. Just as he turned to walk toward the exit, a calm yet authoritative voice called out from behind him.

"Wait a minute, Taegyun Park. Come see me in my private office now."

It was the same lady teacher from before. Her voice was soft, but it carried a tone that was not up for debate. She walked past him briskly, her footsteps echoing lightly against the linoleum floor as she exited.

Yet something about her seemed off. Her expression subtle, almost hidden, carried a strange weight. She bit her red lips gently, her face slightly flushed, not quite blushing but touched with a peculiar heat, like a secret emotion she was trying to suppress.

Meanwhile, Taegyun's reaction was completely different. His face tensed, brows creasing deeply. A storm of worry flashed across his expression, as if being summoned like this was not unusual—but something he dreaded nonetheless.

"Shit... I got caught again," he muttered under his breath, lifting both hands to cover his face. "I'm fucked."

He groaned, dragging his palms down his cheeks.

"I hope she doesn't take it too far this time… If my grand parents hear about this, they'll seriously kill me," he whispered, anxiety prickling through his chest.

Slinging his bag over his shoulder, Taegyun took a slow breath and walked out of the empty classroom, shoulders slouched and steps heavy like a man on his way to an execution.

He turned to the right, walking down the hall and passing by another classroom. Despite the bell having rung clearly, some students were still inside. The sounds of murmuring and shuffling papers drifted out, indicating that they hadn't gone home yet.

After walking for about a minute, he reached a classroom window, his gaze caught by something. Inside the classroom, a group of older students had surrounded a frail-looking boy. The boy was kneeling before them, his school uniform torn and ragged. It was clear he had been beaten—his body covered in bruises, his skin marked with cuts and scrapes.

Taegyun couldn't help but think, 'I guess someone refused to do their bidding.'

It wasn't just a passing thought. As a student at Solis Horizon Academy, a futuristic, multicultural school nestled in Asia, it wasn't unusual for the upperclassmen to wield this kind of power over the younger students. The system was built on submission, where younger students were expected to cater to the whims of their seniors, following their every order.

At Solis Horizon Academy, a place that was known for its strict discipline and outdated hierarchy, it was practically an academy of hell for freshmen and sophomores. It wasn't just the seniors who controlled everything. Even the junior students could dictate terms. You couldn't eat without permission. You couldn't leave a room unless you were allowed to. Going to the bathroom? Only if they said it was okay.

It was a world where power wasn't just exercised; it was enforced with iron fists and silent approval.

Teachers did nothing. They turned a blind eye, maintaining a facade that everything was fine. They acted as though the perfect, model students were the epitome of excellence. But if a teacher dared to speak up about any misbehavior or bullying, the older students would simply bribe them with money. And if they refused? Well, they were threatened, their careers or their personal lives subtly endangered by the shadowy power these seniors held.

Taegyun knew this all too well. He had been in the same position when he first transferred to this academy. As a freshman, a newcomer, he had been forced to endure the same kind of treatment. The upperclassmen made him do their dirty work, humiliated him whenever they saw fit. He had no choice but to obey without resistance. If he did, he knew they would just lose interest and target someone else.

But even when they lost interest in you, that didn't mean you were free. The upperclassmen would still keep a watchful eye, ensuring you stayed under their thumb.

It was a careful balance of survival—one that Taegyun had perfected. He learned to stay out of sight, to avoid attracting attention. He kept his head down, never raising his eyes to meet theirs, and always behaved like a shadow, as common as a street rat. If he stayed invisible, they wouldn't waste time on him.

He had learned to blend in—to be ordinary, to be just another nameless face in the crowd. To be unique was to stand out, and standing out was the quickest way to attract the demons who ruled this hellish academy.

"Sigh"

With a heavy sigh, he turned away from the window and began walking forward. But just as he took a few steps, he suddenly bumped into someone.

"Ouch!"

He instinctively reached up to touch his forehead, wincing at the pain. His head throbbed a little, and he rubbed the spot with his hand.

"Fuck! Why is there a metal pole here..."

He raised his head, intending to find the offending pole, only to realize that what he had mistaken for a pole was, in fact, a student. A tall girl with striking features stood before him. She was a head taller than Taegyun, and the first thing that caught his attention was the sleek, full-black goggles she wore. They wrapped around her eyes in a smooth, continuous curve. There was no nose bridge, no seams—just a shadowy surface that hid her eyes completely.

But there was something else about her that drew his eye—hanging from her waist was a sword.

'A Hunter Trainee... shit! Shit! Shit! I fucked up again. Fuck, she's going to beat me up for sure.'

A chill of fear crawled down his spine as if he were standing before a monstrous snake, ready to swallow him whole. Sweat began to bead on his forehead, his body tensing with the sudden spike of anxiety.

Without thinking, he immediately bowed, his voice trembling.

"I-I am really sorry! I didn't mean to bump into you. I-It was not intentional. I am really sorry! Please forgive me!"

Silence hung in the air for several seconds, the girl saying nothing. Taegyun remained bent at the waist, his posture a nervous display of submission.

"I wil-"

"Am I a metal pole?"

The girl's voice cut through his apology, sharp and calm. She spoke with a curious expression.

Taegyun straightened up quickly, a wave of panic rising within him. His voice faltered as he tried to explain.

"N-No... I didn't mean that, I was-"

"Then do I have a strong body like a metal pole?"

She interrupted again, her tone taking on a peculiar edge, as if she was testing him—or maybe expecting some form of praise?

'Shit! Why did I have to say metal pole so loudly? Fuck!! I'm totally fucked. What should I say? It was basically the same question as if she was asking if she was a metal pole. Think, think...'

Taegyun's mind raced, his heart pounding as sweat poured down his face like a constant stream. He had never been this nervous, never sweated this much in his life. His thoughts were jumbled, unable to settle on a proper response. But then, just as his panic reached its peak, a sudden thought broke through the fog in his mind.

'She's a Hunter Trainee, so she's probably already awakened, preparing to become an official Hunter. And given the sword at her waist, it's clear she's a swordsman. Swordsmen have to train their bodies, make them as tough as metal... So, her question isn't that strange. I should just say yes, right?'

He opened his mouth, bracing himself for the beating in case his blunt answer provoked her.

"Yes... you have a strong body like a metal pole..."

Then he noticed the girl's expression shift, and his entire body tensed in anticipation. His shoulders rose instinctively, bracing for a slap, a punch, or perhaps a sudden kick to the gut.

But... it never came.

Instead, the girl smiled.

Not a casual smirk or a sarcastic grin—but a soft, subtle smile. It was faint, barely visible under the edge of her sleek, black goggles, but enough to make his heart twitch. It was... intoxicating? No—that word was too light. The smile hit him like a drug, sweet and dizzying, slipping into his chest and melting away the anxiety like butter on hot steel.

What was this?

The girl, still wearing that smile, casually reached into the pocket of her skirt—or rather, what was supposed to be a miniskirt. Honestly, it was so short it barely qualified as clothing, riding high over her thighs like it belonged more in a club than a school. She rummaged around with practiced ease, her fingers dancing inside the tiny pocket before she pulled something out with a triumphant "Aha!"

It was a small, white medical tape—the kind typically used for minor wounds and bruises. Despite its size, the branding on it was clear. A high-grade, advanced healing patch. Expensive, no doubt.

She took a step forward, now standing directly in front of Taegyun Park, who froze on the spot like a startled statue. His mouth slightly open, his eyes wide, he looked downright stupid—at least, that was how he imagined he looked.

The girl leaned in just a bit. Her presence felt strangely warm. Close enough for him to smell the faint trace of something mix floral and sharp—perfume, and sweat perhaps. Then, with a gentle touch, she pressed the medical tape against the swollen red bump on his forehead. The same bump that had collided with her chest earlier.

"Here. It's an expensive TS-5 medical tape. Heals fast," she said with a satisfied nod.

Then, without another word—still smiling like she had just been praised—she stepped past him and continued down the hallway.

Taegyun Park, still frozen like a statue with that dumbstruck look on his face, finally let out a quiet breath. A word slipped from his lips, almost unconsciously.

"A goddess..."

He could not forget her smile—small yet spellbinding—and the unexpected act of placing the medical tape on his forehead. The image played over and over in his mind like a scene from a romance film. He slowly turned his head to steal a final glance.

There she was.

Her figure swayed down the corridor, her curvy silhouette framed by the hallway's soft lighting. Her body was ridiculously busty, like a flower that had bloomed far too early for this world. If anyone saw her from behind, they would probably mistake her for a young escort walking through a school hallway in disguise.

Taegyun stared, his gaze shamelessly locked onto the shape of her hips. That school uniform—God, it did nothing to hide her assets. The tight white shirt was soaked with sweat and clung to her back, highlighting every ridge and curve beneath. That miniskirt—if one could even call it that—was criminally short, barely covering the essentials. And her ass... massive, plump, bouncing gently with each step. He imagined someone dying happily if she ever sat on their face.

The sunlight from the classroom window hit her golden-blonde hair just right. It shimmered, cascading down her back like liquid light.

Everything about her was trouble.

Taegyun slapped both of his cheeks hard, snapping himself out of the spell. His face flushed red with embarrassment.

"Forget about her, Taegyun. She's totally out of your league!"

He muttered it like a mantra, forcing his eyes away. With a sharp breath, he broke into a brisk walk, weaving past a few classrooms quickly and quietly—careful not to catch the attention of any of the older students lurking around.

Eventually, he arrived at the hallway that led to the faculty offices. Stopping in front of one particular door, he took a deep breath, held it, and knocked three times.

"Come in," came a voice from inside. Soft, elegant, feminine.

He pushed the door open.

The room smelled faintly of lavender and ink. It was neatly organized, books lining the shelves, a digital screen displaying class schedules on the wall. And there, seated behind her small desk, was Miss Anna.

She sat with one leg crossed over the other, the fabric of her long dress parting dangerously up one thigh. The slit ran nearly to her waist, and although nothing indecent was visible, the visual tension it created was almost maddening. The high slit revealed just enough of her smooth, ivory leg to make his throat dry.

Taegyun swallowed. Hard.

His voice cracked slightly when he finally opened his mouth.

"M-Miss Anna…"

Anna Prescott —the youngest teacher at Solis Horizon Academy—was a rare presence in the school. At just twenty-one years old, she had secured her position as a history teacher the previous year. Her youth and stunning appearance had stirred quite a storm among the faculty. The older female teachers, all well past fourty, seethed with jealousy over her beauty and figure. The male teachers, on the other hand, whispered behind her back, claiming she must have used connections to climb into her position so young. Whether it was envy or resentment, Anna was talked about more than any other teacher on campus.

At that moment, Anna was seated behind her desk, her shapely legs crossed as she casually read through a sheet of printed paper. Hearing the knock, she slowly raised her head and gazed at the boy standing awkwardly in the doorway.

"Mm, you came. Come and sit," she said, her voice smooth and mature.

She moved from behind her desk and sat openly on the chair in front, crossing one leg over the other again, the slit in her dress shifting ever so slightly, teasing but never revealing. She gestured for him to sit in the chair opposite her.

Taegyun Park walked to the indicated seat, his eyes darting once toward her long legs before quickly looking away. He sat down stiffly, his palms pressed nervously on his thighs. For a few moments, the two of them simply sat there, face-to-face, eyes locked. Or rather, her eyes were locked. Taegyun's began to falter after only a second, darting downward in embarrassment.

Anna tilted her head, watching him intently.

"What happened to your forehead?" she asked.

"Uh... I bumped into a metal pole..."

"I see," she said nonchalantly, then leaned back slightly. "Well, it does not matter. What matters is... when will you stop looking at me like a pervert, huh?"

His fingers curled into fists, pressing against his thighs as a blush rose to his cheeks.

"I-I am sorry, Miss! I won't do that ever again!"

She sighed, a long breath escaping her lips. Then she bit her lower lip—plump and red—without taking her eyes off him.

"You've said that exact line over a hundred times already."

Her voice lowered, almost a whisper now. A sharp glint flickered in her eyes.

"Do you know, I always feel creeped out whenever you stare at me like that in class? It makes me lose focus, like I can feel your eyes peeling off my clothes with every glance. It was tolerable at first. You were not the first boy to eye me like that, after all. But lately... I cannot sleep. I keep thinking about those eyes—those disgusting, hungry eyes that look like they could devour my body if I dared let my guard down."

Taegyun remained silent. He dared not speak, only listening with burning cheeks and wide eyes.

"I even went to the hunter's market," she continued, folding her arms under her chest. "I bought a skill... a very expensive one. It cost me six months of my salary."

Her lips curled into a faint smirk as she watched the growing horror on his face.

"A skill that can detect if the person in front of me has evil intentions toward me—the user of the skill."

Taegyun began to sweat. His lips moved without sound, muttering to himself in sheer panic.

'Shit... I am totally dead this time.'

"But when I used that skill today," Anna continued, her voice softer now, almost confused, "I was totally surprised. At first, I thought the skill was broken. But how could that be? It passed the Level 5 verification system—it is one of the most reliable identification system on the market."

She leaned forward slightly, her eyes locked onto his. "Do you know what it showed me when I used it on you?"

Taegyun Park swallowed. "Uh… what?"

It was all he could manage with his dry throat and trembling voice.

"Light" she answered flatly.

"Sorry?" he blinked.

"If you had even the slightest evil intention toward me," she explained, "the skill would have shown darkness surrounding you. But with you... it was different. You were glowing. You were surrounded by light, as if you were some kind of holy being."

'Holy being? Me? What the fuck.' Taegyun's mouth fell open slightly in disbelief.

"That's why I thought it was broken at first. But it worked just fine on the other students. I even tested it on some of the teachers... and it worked perfectly. You're the only exception. So..." she took a breath and straightened her posture. "Taegyun Park, please answer me honestly."

"Y-yes?" he replied, stunned by everything he had just heard.

He had been bracing himself for punishment, perhaps even expulsion, but what he received instead was a revelation that knocked the wind out of him. He had expected that the skill would expose him as a pervert—or worse. Yet, it showed light?

Anna continued, her eyes narrowing as she stared into his soul.

"Taegyun... do you really have no evil intention toward me?"

"Uh, y-yes, Miss Anna," he nodded quickly.

"Then why?" she asked, her tone shifting from cold to curious. "Why do you always stare at me like that during class? With those intense, creepy, perverted eyes? As if you were just waiting for the right moment to devour me the second I let my guard down? Tell me honestly. Just be honest with me."

She leaned closer, her voice almost whispering now. "Because if you are honest... I will keep this conversation private. I will not report you. I won't tell your parents. I won't even scold you anymore. In fact... now that I know you have no evil intentions—I will let you stare at me however you want."

Taegyun froze. His heart skipped a beat.

'What...? She'll let me stare at her however I want? Is she insane... or just too open-minded for this world?' he thought, his brain short-circuiting.

He scratched the back of his head awkwardly, unsure of how to respond to a statement so wild, it sounded like it belonged in his wildest dreams. He looked at her—those mysterious, unreadable eyes and her juicy red lips, full and inviting, as if they could bloom roses with a single kiss.

After a moment of hesitation, he finally opened his mouth, stammering,

"Uhm... actually, I... I like you, Miss Anna! I really admire you. Your big, beautiful eyes—sparkling like distant stars. Your long black hair... so deep and silky it feels like it could swallow the world in darkness. Your... your curvy body, like it could bloom a garden full of roses with just your presence..."

He inhaled sharply, then continued.

"I—I really like you, Miss Anna. And I swear, I have no evil intentions. But I... I cannot say I'm totally innocent either. I like girls who are pretty and beautiful like you... it's like a curse or a disease. I do have naughty thoughts sometimes—of course, only if the other party consents—but... I do fantasize about you in a bad way. I'm really sorry... I—"

"S-stop!" Anna suddenly interrupted, lifting her palm slightly.

Taegyun clamped his mouth shut, his eyes wide.

"You don't need to say anymore," she said, her voice barely audible.

Her face was red. A soft blush had spread across her cheeks. Her eyes no longer met his directly—they faltered, and she lowered her head, avoiding his gaze.

For a moment, the silence between them was heavier than any scolding could have been.

"To hear these kinds of things from a sixteen-year-old student... it's really, really strange," Anna whispered, her voice trembling.

She still had her head lowered, her face hidden behind both palms. Her breath was shallow, and there was a slight tremble in her shoulders.

"To think... my student had these kinds of thoughts from the beginning... and all because of me…"

She bit her lower lip, her hands tightening as if trying to hide her blush beneath the shield of her fingers.

"I—I'm really sorry, Taegyun. I'm sorry that I thought bad about you. That I misunderstood you."

Taegyun Park sat frozen in his chair, overwhelmed. "Miss Anna, please do not apologize. This is not like you. You've done nothing wrong. If anything, I should be the one to say sorry. I know a simple apology won't fix everything, but—"

He paused, swallowing hard before continuing.

"I will quit the history class from tomorrow. I promise I will never appear in front of you again. That way, you won't have to feel uncomfortable anymore."

He looked down, his voice soft and sincere. There was no resistance in his tone—only resolution.

But the moment those words left his mouth, Anna suddenly stood up. Her chair scraped back loudly against the floor. Without thinking, she moved forward and grabbed both of his shoulders firmly.

"No, Taegyun! You should not quit history class!" she exclaimed.

He looked up, startled by her reaction.

"I told you already—I won't scold you anymore," she said with a stern expression. "You can look at me with those... perverted eyes... however you want."

Her voice cracked a little near the end, her cheeks flushing rapidly.

"It's my responsibility now," she continued, almost mumbling the last part. "It's my responsibility to help you overcome this... this problem of yours. So please... you must not quit my class. Okay?"

Taegyun stared at her in stunned silence.

Despite her serious expression, her ears had turned visibly red, betraying her embarrassment. Her hands, still resting on his shoulders, trembled slightly, and her eyes refused to meet his.

A long, heavy pause lingered between them, the air thick with tension and something unspoken—a complicated mix of guilt, confusion, and a strange, forbidden affection neither of them could put into words.

"Do you really not mind? I thought you hated me—"

"Give me your phone," Anna suddenly interrupted.

Taegyun Park blinked, stunned.

"Sorry?"

"Please give me your phone," she repeated, looking away with an odd mixture of flustered calm and pink cheeks.

It was unexpected—so unexpected that Taegyun forgot what he was even saying. He hesitated for a second, then slowly reached into his pocket, pulled out his smartphone, and handed it to her.

"..."

"Your phone is locked," Anna said after a moment.

"U-Uhm… I-I'm sorry. You won't like it if I unlock it," he stammered, sweat trickling down the back of his neck.

Anna shook her head and responded with a tone that sounded serious—yet beneath it was an obvious crack of embarrassment in her voice.

"I don't care. Just unlock your phone."

Something about the way she said it—the slight falter at the end, the way her eyes avoided his—made it impossible for Taegyun to resist. He nodded weakly, tapped in his password, and quickly lowered his head like a criminal waiting for judgment.

Anna looked at the screen.

And froze.

Her cheeks, already slightly flushed from earlier, turned a deep, burning red.

Displayed on Taegyun's wallpaper was a 2D anime girl with an extremely busty, curvaceous figure—practically naked except for a thin white loincloth that barely clung to her massive breasts. The flimsy strip of cloth barely concealed her nipple, leaving the soft pink of her areolas exposed, while the rest of her ample chest remained scandalously bare. She had blonde hair, sparkling eyes, and was making a kissing hand gesture surrounded by cartoon heart stickers.

Anna stared at the screen blankly, her face heating up like a volcano ready to erupt. Then, instinctively, her eyes lowered to her own chest—modest, compared to the over-inflated fantasy girl on the screen.

'Is… is this the kind of girl he likes…?' she thought, her heart hammering. 'I wish I had those kinds of breasts… Wait, no! What am I thinking?! Aah! This is so embarrassing—I want to die!'

She swallowed the rising scream in her throat and shook off her thoughts.

Quickly, she tapped the contacts app, typed her number into his phone, and saved it. Then, without a word, she pressed the call button. Her purse vibrated on the table. Without letting it ring twice, she canceled the call and handed the phone back to him, her hand trembling slightly.

"I saved my number in your phone," she muttered, her voice almost too soft to hear. Her face was glowing red now. "I-I would like to invite you to a restaurant tonight. As an apology. For… this misunderstanding. I'll text you later."

Taegyun stared at her, wide-eyed. "What?"

He blinked several times.

'No way,' he thought. 'Is this actually happening? Is this what I think it is? This kind of thing only happens in dramas. She's got to have a few screws loose or something.'

"You can go home now," Anna said, still avoiding eye contact. "Just… please come tonight."

Her tone was shy and unsteady, almost whisper-like.

Taegyun glanced at his phone, then silently stuffed it back into his pocket. Without saying a word, he turned toward the door and walked out, still too stunned to speak.

Anna watched him go, biting her lower lip. The moment the door clicked shut behind him, she let out a tiny groan and buried her face in both hands.

"Ahh… this is so embarrassing," Anna muttered, burying her face deeper into her palms. "No way… I actually said all those things to my sixteen-year-old student. What is wrong with me?!"

"And what was up with that naughty wallpaper…? Seriously, kids these days are such perverts! A naked anime girl? Are you kidding me?!"

She let out a muffled groan behind her hands, recalling every second of the awkward conversation. Her heart was pounding.

"I want to die… ahhhh!"
