Chapter 16 - Chapter 15 : Hagrid

"Wizard!" Dudley's face showed little shock as he saw the giant riding a motorcycle descend from the sky. Undoubtedly, this was a wizard—only a wizard could do that.

"Is he the teacher from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? This entrance is beyond my expectations," Dudley muttered softly. He'd imagined a wizard appearing suddenly at the doorstep, perhaps teleporting or riding a legendary flying broom. A motorcycle was completely unexpected.

Cyber wizard? he thought, heading downstairs.

In the second-floor bedroom, Harry poked his head out, his face full of fear and surprise. "There's a giant on the lawn!" he said urgently.

"Yes, I saw him. He's likely a teacher from Hogwarts. Let's go see him together," Dudley replied, descending the stairs.

A knock came at the door. "Oh, damn it, why is this door so small!" a voice complained softly outside.

Dudley opened the door. By the bright moonlight, he saw a giant over two meters tall. His face was nearly hidden by a fluffy beard and long hair, with only bright eyes sparkling beneath.

"Hello," Dudley said proactively.

"Oh, hello," the giant replied, frowning slightly. His gaze swept past Dudley to the thin figure at the stairwell, visibly intimidated. The giant smiled faintly and squeezed through the doorframe.

Dudley stepped aside quickly.

"This must be Harry, right? Long time no see. I'm Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. Just call me Hagrid," he introduced himself warmly.

"You… hello," Harry said, bewildered.

"Haha, anyway, happy birthday, Harry," Hagrid said, pulling a slightly squashed box from his overcoat's inner pocket and handing it to Harry.

Harry opened it with trembling hands, revealing a sticky chocolate cake with "Happy Birthday Harry" written in green icing.

"Thank you," Harry said, remembering to express gratitude despite his confusion.

"You're welcome," Hagrid smiled.

Dudley, observing, looked thoughtful. "This Hagrid has met Harry before and seems very fond of him," he judged. He could sense Hagrid's dislike for him; if Dudley hadn't greeted him, Hagrid might've ignored him entirely.

"Interesting. There's much about my cousin I don't understand," Dudley thought. He wasn't bothered by Hagrid's attitude; he was more intrigued by what lay beneath the surface.

"Who are you?! Why are you in my house!" Vernon and Petunia finally came downstairs. Seeing the behemoth, Petunia nearly fainted, and Vernon's face darkened. He'd somehow grabbed a shotgun, but his trembling hands betrayed his fear.

"Dad, this is a professor from Hogwarts. No need to panic," Dudley said quickly.

"Hmph, Dursley, compared to your son, you've become senile over the years," Hagrid snorted, glancing at Dudley before striding into the living room.

"Oh, my goodness, you can't… without my permission…" Vernon let out a terrified scream, worse than if he'd been attacked.

"Dad, it's fine. Leave it to me. I can handle it," Dudley said, following Hagrid into the living room. Harry hurried after.

"Oh, I never thought Dursley could have a wizard son," Hagrid said, glancing at Dudley before focusing on Harry. "Oh, Harry, last time I saw you, you were just a baby, only… only this big." He gestured with his arms.

"Uh…" Harry, unsure how to respond, stared at Hagrid.

"You know about Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by now, right?" Hagrid continued.

"Yes, we know," Dudley and Harry nodded.

"Good, saves me the trouble of explaining," Hagrid said. He pulled a lively owl from his clothes and scribbled a letter. Dudley glanced at it—addressed to Professor Dumbledore, Hogwarts' headmaster, stating he'd met Harry and Dudley and would take them shopping for supplies tomorrow, so Dumbledore needn't worry.

After giving the letter to the owl, Hagrid gave Harry a big hug, holding his hand and asking many questions, clearly fond of him. He barely glanced at Dudley.

Vernon and Petunia stood in the living room corner, faces grim, exchanging terrified glances.

Dudley didn't interrupt Hagrid and Harry's reunion, quietly observing Hagrid. Using spiritual vision, he saw energy in Hagrid's soul and unusual light around him. "He's… not purely human," Dudley thought. "Giant bloodline?" Hagrid's size suggested it, and giants existed in that strange world, making it plausible.

Dudley sensed no threat, evil, or madness from Hagrid. When Hagrid finally released Harry, Dudley spoke. "Ahem, if I may ask, what happened to Harry's parents, my aunt and uncle's family?" he asked directly.

The room's air froze. Harry looked at Hagrid with anticipation, eager to know the truth about his parents.
