Looks like it's morning again—and I gotta say, I slept well. Feels like I'm ready for another day.
I look at my injured hand. The wound's already scabbed over... which, let's be honest, isn't exactly normal. But I guess my adaptation power's doing its thing.
Now that I know I can enhance myself and objects, I gotta figure out what exactly to do with these powers. 'Cause let's be real, the only fun in a dino-infested island full of oversized animals... is training.
Alright, enough whining. Let's get to it.
I picked up a thin stick and started enhancing it. Put a little pressure on it... didn't break. Pressed a bit harder... and snap. It broke.
Okay, so enhancement can increase durability. But just making things tougher isn't enough. What else can it do? I still don't know... not yet.
Then a new idea hit me: Can I enhance something multiple times?
I grabbed the stick again. Enhanced it once... then again... It started vibrating.
One more time—and cracks appeared. I immediately canceled the power. Last thing I need is a stick exploding in my face. I like my eyes, thanks!
That moment was terrifying. Felt like I was juggling a live grenade. My breathing was sharp and shaky.
But hey... I learned something.
You can enhance things multiple times, but the object needs to be able to handle it.
More importantly: enhancement drains my stamina. The more I use it, the faster I burn out.
Anyway... my stomach growled. Guess it's breakfast time.
You ask why I don't store fruit in my hut? Because I like my fruit fresh off the tree, not bruised and soggy.
So I went into the jungle, hunting for fruit.
Gonna keep training for now, 'cause all I've seen so far are goats and rams. And I really don't wanna remember that dinosaur. Judging by the size of those animals, if there's a wolf in this jungle... that's gonna be a real battle.
So, I slapped myself awake with both hands and got to work.
Started lifting tree trunks up and down.
Then another idea struck me: What if I swam in the sea to build stamina?
Pretty sure it'd tire me out quicker... just gotta make sure I don't drown.
So I stayed near the shore and trained.
After a few hours of swimming, I was exhausted. My muscles were on fire.
I dragged myself back to the hut, cooked lunch, ate, and took a short nap.
Then went back to lifting logs like weights.
Two weeks went by like that. Train. Swim. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.
Eventually, even my pants were falling apart.
I mean, I don't think there's another human on this island, but still—I need proper clothes.
So I grabbed the ram hide I'd saved. Scraped off the fat with a stone.
Washed it with water. Then started designing a sleeveless shirt and some pants.
Used the ram's tendons to stitch them together into something wearable.
It was gross at first... but hey, better than leafy underwear!
I figured I should start enhancing my clothes during hunts too.
Training went on. I felt twice as strong as I was during that ram fight.
So it was time... to explore a new part of the jungle.
I crafted a spear using a sturdy stick, a sharpened stone, and a smoothed-out tendon to bind it.
When I held it in my hand... I felt something strange. Like—I was really a hunter now.
I stood at the jungle's edge, took a deep breath, and whispered:
"Alright, jungle... show me what you've got."
