Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2

"No! No! No! NO!"

Kalina paced back and forth beside the hospital bed, the patient's gown draped over her slender body showing her true condition, while holding her head she tried to think about what was happening.

She looked in the mirror several times to ensure that what she saw was just an illusion. However, every time she looked in the mirror Kalina continued to see a stranger she had never met before.

A woman with a beautiful, clean, white face, and a mole under her left eye, very surprising.

Bright blue eyes like clear marbles emitting light. For a split second, she was captivated by the beauty of the body she was currently occupying.

"This doesn't make sense. How is that possible? How can I be in this woman's body? Also… who is she?"

"Who is she?"

Kalina continued to ramble, carefully digesting the events she was experiencing. What was happening to her right now didn't make sense.

Like a nightmare in broad daylight, Kalina tried to digest, but there was no way out.

"This is beyond reason. It can't be explained by words," she continued, still holding her head, her eyes completely wide.

"No matter how much I think about it, this doesn't make sense at all. As far as I can remember… I fell from the road divider on my way to the subway."

"There were stairs, there were a lot of pedestrians too, and after that… I don't remember anything. Then how did I end up in this body?" she babbled again pacing around.

"Is this a fantasy world? Does the world of cultivators exist?" Kalina clicked her tongue while placing her hands on her hips, "Don't be silly. What strange thing happened to me?"

Again and again, Kalina couldn't find the connecting rope, so she went back into the bathroom to observe the strange face.

She turned it over and looked straight into the bright blue eyes there.

"If you look at her face, why does it look like me, huh? Yes, you could say I'm also beautiful, if I take care of it, and it's clean too," Kalina praised herself.

"It seems like this woman is no ordinary person. Just look at her skin! Very clean, healthy, and also white, far from acne or blackheads like me."

Unknowingly Kalina entered her world while continuing to observe the beauty of the woman whose body was taken over.

Satisfied with admiring the beauty of the woman whose name she didn't know, Kalina turned to both hands.

She saw that her left wrist was bandaged, and there were many bruises here and there, some new and some old.

When she lifted the hospital gown, she was shocked to see so many wounds nesting on her body.

"It turns out, she was just avoiding her face," Kalina muttered, covering her new body again.

She was pensive, looking down. Her mind was dead, all the new information that had just entered made her very confused.

There was no way out, she had realized that her spirit had entered the wrong body. However, besides the doubt, Kalina felt sorry when she found out about this woman's condition.

"What happened? She... wanted to end her own life? Also... this damn wound hurts so much," Kalina muttered, holding her left wrist which was still throbbing with pain.

Sitting in thought, maybe it has become her comfort lately. Kalina is already in a hospital bed, not doing any meaningful activities.

The clock on the wall shows eight in the morning, after being awake since three in the morning Kalina can't sleep anymore.

It feels difficult mixed with fear, about who she is right now still has not found the answer.

"Why is no one coming? Has this woman been dumped?" she muttered looking down.

Not long after that statement buzzed, someone slid the door to the inpatient room. The female nurse came in and was surprised when the patient was already conscious sitting on the bed.

"Oh my God, A-are you awake? Why didn't you press that button?" she pointed behind Kalina where there was a button to call medical personnel.

"Eh? Do I have to?" Kalina asked back not understanding.

The nurse just smiled briefly, then went out to call the doctor. For some reason, she also felt something different about this patient.

A few minutes later a woman with glasses in her forties came into the room.

Kalina just waited silently for what this beautiful doctor would do to her. She was told to lie down and the examination was underway.

"Thank God, the bleeding in her head has stopped," the doctor muttered.

"Bleeding? What's wrong with me, Doc?" Kalina asked, trying to dig up information.

"You've been in a coma for a month. There was a hard blow to your head… causing you to bleed quite seriously. Also… there are many wounds all over your body and a cut on your wrist."

"Thank God, you're fine now. I'll inform your family."

After saying that, the doctor left the room. Again, Kalina could only stare blankly at the ceiling, knowing that this woman's condition was very sad.

"So, this woman also had an accident and has been in a coma for a month? Then, where is my real body? Is it possible that it's gone?" Kalina whispered.

When her subconscious was about to pick her up, suddenly a loud noise outside surprised her. Kalina opened her eyes again and heard someone slide the door of the room a second time.

She turned to the left side to find a tall, sturdy man, looking serene, with eyelashes framing the surroundings looking charming.

Clean white skin, decorated with a straight, sharp nose and thin reddish lips coming towards her.

Kalina, who didn't know who this man was, could only think to herself and continue to look at the strange face.

"Are you awake? You know? How afraid I am to lose you? I can't lose you, Kanaya!" said the man.

Without warning, he immediately hugged Kalina, making her eyes widen. She also just found out that this woman's name was Kanaya.

Amid the confusion that was still trying to be responded to, suddenly a pair of middle-aged men and women followed him from behind.

Emotion and gratitude were depicted on his old face. Kalina had to swallow her confusion again, about who they were.

Until a second later the man who was hugging her pulled away. She smiled broadly while rubbing her cheek warmly.

"Mom, Dad, thank God Kanaya is awake. I was so scared when I found out she fell from the second floor. I'm sorry I couldn't take care of Kanaya properly."

"How about-"

"Don't regret it, we should be grateful that Kanaya is conscious now," snapped the older man facing him.

A sad and regretful face emerged from the man, as he clasped both hands in front of his chest, he lowered his sturdy body in front of the old man there.

"Come on Zaki, you don't need to feel guilty. This was just an accident, now we should be grateful that Kanaya is conscious," continued the elderly woman.

"That's right, we don't blame you at all for the accident that befell Kanaya. Because after all on the day of the incident you were abroad," continued the old man again smiling full of emotion.

Kalina who had only been watching the dramatic drama in front of her eyes could only remain silent, again trying to get information from their conversation.

Until she didn't realize the two old men had come to her, they held her hands and gave her kisses on the face.

"Thank God, Honey... you're conscious. Mommy is very happy," said the woman whose name was unknown, dropping a kiss on her forehead.

"Daddy is also very grateful, thank you for being willing to fight."

Kalina was very awkward, her surprise at the embrace of the man named Zaki had not subsided, and now the touches from the old man made her confused.

"Eh! Yes, but... sorry, who are you?"

The question that had just come out of her pale mouth surprised the three people there. They looked at each other, not believing Kalina's words.

She was sulky and awkward about her reaction when she looked closely.

"Damn, I surprised them, but… what should I do? I can't just accept their kindness. This is so awkward," she cried to himself.
