After school, I waited by the steps.
My heart pounded so loud I was sure everyone could hear it.
Then—there he was.
Hands in his pockets, smile easy.
"Hey," he said.
"Hey," I replied, voice shaky.
We walked. Not far. Just around the building where it was quiet.
Neither of us said much at first.
Then he looked at me.
"I don't usually do this," he said. "But there's something about you."
I swallowed.
"Me too," I whispered. "I mean… I feel it too."
He smiled wider.
"Then maybe we should see where this goes."
And just like that, something began.
