Chapter 32 - Chapter31

Even the internal affairs of the top-tier nation in the northern part of the central continent, Petunia Kingdom, were recorded here. The internal forces had become increasingly divided and conflicted. The Puppet Soldiers had once accepted a job from a certain feudal lord within Petunia Kingdom to assassinate a direct descendant of the royal bloodline.

Events like these, full of darkness and filth among various nations and factions, were clearly listed in the assassination records of the Puppet Soldiers, a second-tier force on the continent.

Elara not only directly gained access to all kinds of secret information that would be nearly impossible to obtain through normal channels, but she also indirectly gained leverage over many key members within powerful nations.

Take the Puppet Soldiers, for example.

As long as she revealed even a little bit of what was on this assassination list, the Puppet Soldiers would not be able to handle the backlash.

All those forces they had previously targeted would rush to take revenge.

Elara became more certain of her earlier guess.

This kind of top-secret list belonged to the Puppet Soldiers, and the fact that Operative Nine and Operative Seven carried it with them meant their original mission tonight was probably to escort it to a specific destination.

But unexpectedly, after she infiltrated the Puppet Soldiers' base in Geranium Kingdom and even took away the major wanted criminal they were using as bait, Operative Nine, Operative Seven, and Operative Fifteen had to change their plans on the spot.

They probably decided to eliminate the intruder who had broken into their base and then continue their original task.

Unfortunately for them, even though they had two top ten assassins and Operative Fifteen together, all three still fell into Elara's hands.

This list, which could easily provoke many major powers on the continent, ended up in her possession.

Looking at the powerful leverage in her hands, Elara accepted it without hesitation.

However, before Plumera had fully grown strong, she wouldn't easily use this top-secret leverage.

Otherwise, it could easily turn from a secret advantage into a deadly weakness.

As for the pursuit and revenge that the Puppet Soldiers might launch after losing this list, ha, before Elara had infiltrated the Puppet Soldiers' branch tonight, Emory had already changed her face.

Including those following her like Uno and Attendant One, everyone's appearance and figure were drastically different from before.

Uno's skills had never appeared publicly on this continent.

He single-handedly eliminated two of the Puppet Soldiers' top ten assassins.

Even if they tried to guess, the Puppet Soldiers would never suspect a small, remote country in the southwest corner of the continent that hadn't even reached the level of a third-tier nation.

They would at least suspect a second-tier force or higher.

After all, in this world, the only ones who dared to rob and kill top ten assassins from the Puppet Soldiers were powerful factions of at least second-tier strength.

After thinking this through, Elara smiled and cleaned up the three assassins' corpses again, making sure nothing was left behind.

Then she set them on fire, burning the bodies and the entire battle scene to ashes.

After finishing everything, she and Uno changed into a new set of clothes and returned to the royal city of Geranium Kingdom under the cover of the deepening night.

In a remote and unremarkable inn within the imperial city of Geranium Kingdom, Elara and Uno silently slipped into a small room.

The Puppet Soldiers who were the first to detect their arrival immediately bowed to her.

After sending Morin back, they had originally planned to return immediately to support Elara, but Elara had already informed them through the Holy Spirit Blood that the battle was over and there was no need.

Elara walked to the bedside where Morin lay and looked down at the man on the bed.

Morin's face had already been disguised by Emory to appear like an ordinary man, even his figure had been altered slightly, making it impossible to recognize his original appearance.

"How is he?"

Upon hearing her voice, Emory immediately stood up from the bedside, his eyes shining brightly with intense emotion and gratitude.

"Thank you, Your Majesty, for saving our lives!"

He knelt before Elara, and if she hadn't stopped him, he would have bowed his head to the ground.

"That's enough, no need for such formalities. Just remember your promise. I really will need your help in the future."

Emory was held by the arm and didn't insist on bowing again. Instead, he looked up at Elara and nodded solemnly and seriously, "You can rest assured! No matter what you want to do, I will never question it!"

Just half a year ago, this man would have rather died than obey her. Now he knelt on the ground and looked up at her like this.

Elara helped him up again and looked once more at Morin. "What is his condition now?"

Emory followed her support and stood up. His expression toward Morin was tinged with concern. "My senior's life has been preserved, but those criminals used too many cruel tortures on him. He'll need at least half a year just to barely recover."

As he spoke, Emory glanced at Elara again, his face showing hesitation as if he wanted to speak but couldn't.

Until his senior recovered, the only person he and his senior could trust and rely on was her.

Only Elara could protect them and not treat them like the others outside who called them remnants of the continent.

Though Elara had allowed him to work for her, he still didn't know how long she would keep them… and his senior was seriously injured and could not endure being hunted by the various factions again...

They both needed a safe and powerful place to shelter them.

But even though the world was large, he and his senior had nowhere left to go.

Any forces or nations outside, once they discovered them, would either hunt them down or torture and exploit their abilities, forcing them to commit terrible deeds and then pin all the crimes on them...

Or, like how the Blood-cloaked Tower treated his senior, they would use all sorts of cruel means to force them to reveal the whereabouts of the rest of the Thousand Faces Sect...

Emory absolutely did not want to fall into that kind of hell again, not for himself and not for his senior.

Right now, the only person he could trust was Elara. Only she could give them the shelter they needed.

So, he wanted to ask her to continue taking them in until his senior had fully recovered.

But when it came time to ask, he found it hard to open his mouth.

After all, Elara had already saved both him and his senior. She had given them a favor as great as the heavens.
