Chapter 6 - 6

Antonio followed Brook into this unassuming shop, but under Brook's Life Detection, there were numerous life fluctuations inside, indicating tight security.

"Captain Brook, everyone here seems so fierce!"

Antonio, still a bit shaken, cautiously whispered to his captain.

"This is a lawless zone, filled with all sorts of people—pirates, human traffickers, pirate hunters. You need to stay behind me and be careful."

Brook warned him, afraid that this rookie might get kidnapped and sold by traffickers again.

"What does this customer need?"

The old man at the counter asked Brook. On the surface, this was a shop selling tobacco and alcohol; the Den Den Mushi section was hidden inside.

"I need a large quantity of Den Den Mushi to resell to a rebellious warlord."

Brook picked up a bottle of wine, and frost quickly condensed on it, turning it into ice, letting the old man know he wasn't someone to be trifled with.

The old man also realized the person in front of him was a Devil Fruit user and immediately led Brook to the back trading area.

"Respected customer, which type of Den Den Mushi would you like?"

A beautiful saleswoman replaced the old man and became Brook's hostess, greeting him with a warm, professional smile.

Brook looked at the various sizes of Den Den Mushi on the counter, with different shell shapes and colors, and for a moment, didn't know which to choose.

"Sir, this is a Communication Den Den Mushi. You can dial it as long as you know the number. It can communicate across islands and costs 100,000 Berries each. This is a Fixed-Number Den Den Mushi. It can only pair and communicate with another Fixed-Number Den Den Mushi. Its advantage is an extremely strong signal, allowing communication across very distant islands—even from the Four Seas to the Grand Line and the New World. It costs 500,000 Berries per pair.

There are also Broadcast Den Den Mushi, Surveillance Den Den Mushi, Camera Den Den Mushi, Fax Den Den Mushi... The cheapest is this Baby Den Den Mushi, which has a weaker signal and can only communicate within the same island. It costs 10,000 Berries each."

The beautiful saleswoman, sensing Brook's lack of understanding, thoughtfully explained the various functions of the Den Den Mushi.

As for the Buster Call's Gold Den Den Mushi, Silver Den Den Mushi, the Black Tapping Den Den Mushi used for intelligence, and the White Anti-Tapping Den Den Mushi, they were obviously not sold here. Large Public Den Den Mushi, Visual Den Den Mushi, and Self-Propelled Video Transmission Den Den Mushi were also not available.

Brook looked at the money in the box, which was over 20 million Berries, and decided to make a large purchase.

"Twenty Communication Den Den Mushi and Baby Den Den Mushi each, ten pairs of Fixed-Number Den Den Mushi, and five of everything else."

"Alright, sir. We'll prepare them right away."

The beautiful saleswoman was ecstatic—this was a huge deal worth tens of millions, and she'd earn a generous commission.

Meanwhile, other pirate customers subtly turned their attention to Brook, but he was fearless. None of the life fluctuations from these pirates could compare to his own.

Soon, the staff packed everything into a large transparent box made of an unknown material, with many ventilation holes. Each layer held twenty, nearly filling five layers, and some Den Den Mushi were still munching on leaves.

Brook covered it with a cloth and carried it back to the newspaper office. After he exited the shop, many people were already following Brook and Antonio.

"Captain, it seems like a lot of people are following us, and many other small snails are talking to distant small snails."

Antonio watched his surroundings warily, quietly reporting to Brook.

"You can even hear that? Are you a Tapping Den Den Mushi? Listen again. Do you hear the words 'Poison Smoke Pirates'?"

Antonio's Den Den Mushi Devil Fruit seemed to grant him the abilities of various Den Den Mushi, though it didn't enhance his physical abilities. But Brook felt the fruit was comparable to a Mythical Zoan—perhaps even a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit.

"Yes, Captain Brook! I heard a Den Den Mushi from some intelligence group chatting about the Poison Smoke Pirates, Tree 21, and some bar."

Antonio excitedly replied, pleased he had completed the task given by his captain.

"They're only a few trees away! Heaven truly helps me. Thankfully, we haven't set off for the New World yet—otherwise, they would've been incredibly hard to find!"

Brook immediately took Antonio and rushed toward Tree 21 Island to settle the score and avenge the Rumbar Pirates!

...

The Poison Smoke Pirates, led by Captain Poison Cannon Sharilin—bounty: 56 million Berries—was a vile man who wielded poisonous weapons, favoring ambushes and toxic gas attacks. He was infamous for his cruelty.

"Haha, Captain Sharilin, your destruction of the Rumbar Pirates was so satisfying! Pirates are pirates—why bother with music pirates? Making that trash music, they deserved to die!"

A minion flattered his captain excessively, raising Sharilin's reputation.

Some pirates in the bar, who liked Humming Brook's music and had sung Binks' Sake, couldn't help but frown and prepared to act, but were held back by their companions.

"You're right! Pirates should fight and make their mark in the New World! What good is singing? Just send them to hell to sing there! Hahaha~"

After a few drinks, Sharilin began boasting arrogantly, drawing angry glares from the surrounding pirates.

"Just a petty man who relies on poison gas cannons to burn, kill, and plunder. His bounty is too high."

A short-haired, black-haired woman with a lady's cigarette in her mouth scoffed at the despicable pirate. She was a somewhat famous intelligence operative on the Sabaody Archipelago, specializing in gathering and selling information, occasionally looting pirate treasure caches.

"Who said that?! I heard you—come out now!"

Sharilin, already half-drunk, suddenly pulled out a massive poison gas cannon, terrifying the smaller pirates and causing minions to flee in panic.

Several pirates with bounties over 50 million Berries looked displeased at his arrogant display. Although this was a lawless zone, it wasn't a place to casually start fights—it was still a leisure space for pirates.

"I was heard."

The short-haired woman vanished into the crowd, leaving the impotently furious Sharilin. Under the glares of several pirate captains, he grudgingly settled down, grumbling while continuing to drink.

But as soon as Sharilin took a sip of his drink, a thin figure carrying a large box appeared at the bar's entrance, staring directly at him—causing Sharilin's recently cooled rage to flare up again!

"What the hell are you looking at?! Bastard, do you want to die?!"

Sharilin stepped onto the table, holding his poison gas cannon in his right hand and aiming at the doorway figure. Then he froze, sensing something familiar about the silhouette.
