Chapter 17 - Chapter 18: Gold Lane

Chapter 18:

Rayn hovered quietly over the Gold Lane icon. He has some ideas each role after playing this much.

This time, no one argued for it. His teammates were busy fighting over jungle and mid. So he locked in Calyn, a marksman known for strong early-game trades and precise positioning.

He hadn't played Gold Lane in ranked yet. Watching marksmen in other matches had taught him one thing: patience is survival.

The game started, and Rayn's eyes scanned the screen methodically.

Bot lane — Gold lane — enemy: a hyper-aggressive assassin-type marksman and a support that looked eager to engage. From the first second, they tried to pressure him. Dashes, flickers, skillshots — the usual routine.

Rayn didn't fight back. He stayed under tower, farming safely, calculating every step.

> Most gold laners panic under pressure. Let's not.

At three minutes, his support left to help mid.

It was now 1v2.

He didn't call for help. Instead, he stayed calm, managing waves perfectly, making sure every minion was collected while avoiding unnecessary damage. Every time the enemy tried to dive, he used Calyn's short dash skill to reposition, firing precise shots while retreating just enough.

They couldn't break him.

Minutes passed. His enemy had a 2–0 lead in kills. But Rayn was 20 CS ahead — one full item before the enemy.

When the mid-game came, the enemy was stronger in kills, but Rayn's team had the first turret and a level advantage — thanks to his steady farming.

Now it was time to rotate.

The enemy team grouped up for Lord. Rayn didn't follow his allies blindly. He pushed the top lane instead. When the enemy committed to Lord, they paid the price.

One turret. Two. An inhibitor.

He forced two enemies to recall, buying time for his team to steal Lord and turn the fight.

His only kill came at minute 15 — when he cleaned up a fight his team had already started. But it was the most satisfying kind: clean, calculated, game-ending.

---

Victory.

Post-match stats weren't flashy — 1/0/4.

But he was MVP.

> Gold per minute: Highest

Damage dealt: Top 2

Deaths: Zero

The quiet kind of carry.

And this time, the chat wasn't silent.

> "That MM tho 😳"

"Bro didn't die once???"

"I followed his rotation — it actually worked lol"

Rayn leaned back, eyes flickering with something new.
