Chapter 27 - Chapter 28: Whispers of Something Bigger

Chapter 28:

The clatter of desks and low chatter filled the classroom as the final bell rang.

Rayn closed his notebook and slung his bag over one shoulder, already thinking about what hero to try next when he got home.

As he stepped into the corridor, a familiar voice echoed near the lockers.

> "Bro, if we win that school tourney, we might get invited to regionals. That's how Luna's squad started, remember?"

Rayn paused, adjusting his bag.

He didn't know the group — maybe seniors? — but the words stuck.

Tourney. Regionals. Luna.

He kept walking, not looking back. But something tugged at him.

---

By the time he reached the school gate, his mind wasn't on Kael or his next grind. It was on that one sentence.

"That's how Luna's squad started."

He'd only seen Luna's name once — overheard it when his classmates talked about that top team. Her team had apparently crushed the semifinals last weekend. People spoke about her like she was untouchable.

He never really thought of tournaments as real. Just YouTube videos and pro-tier clips. Distant. Untouchable.

But hearing it like that — from regular students, standing at the lockers like it was normal — made it feel closer. Possible.

---

Back home, he dropped his bag, opened the game… then hesitated.

He didn't queue right away.

Instead, he opened his browser and typed:

> "Legends of Dawn school tournaments India"

Search results popped up. A few YouTube thumbnails. A small event from a city nearby. A school bracket image with names he didn't recognize.

And one detail that made his eyes narrow:

> Entry Requirements: Minimum Rank – Legend V

That was him now.

---

He leaned back in his chair. He wasn't dreaming of pro leagues or making it big.

Not yet.

But… joining one small event? Playing as a hobbyist and seeing what others were like?

That didn't sound crazy anymore.

It sounded fun.

And a little exciting.
