The universe began as nothing.
The first god, the Creator God, a being descended from the Primordial Force of Creation itself, used their infinite power to generate a substance called Creative Essence, and used it as the building block for existence.
This Creator God, called Exordium in this primal form, made into being the universe in its entirety, and provided it the tools it would need to expand itself for the rest of time.
Destruction, the Primordial Force in direct contrast and opposition to Creation, also made into being a force for unmaking, the Destroyer God Machaea.
As the two could never coexist, they warred with each other for unknown millennia, using Creative and Destructive Essence to amass armies and subordinates to fight for and alongside them.
Creation ultimately won this first war, and Machaea, along with his Infernal offspring, were exiled to a pocket dimension of nonexistence called Exclusion, and there they consolidate their power with the hopes of invading and conquering the universe entirely.
Exordium, having almost depleted their power as the cost of creating the rest of the Gods of the Vatuurian Pantheon, created the Empyrean Plane, the plane of existence mortals tend to refer to as "the heavens", and from there, they and their descendants laid the groundwork for Vatuur itself, Exordium's dreamscape made material, a functioning biosphere that sustained itself off of both the living and the nonliving; a perfect testament to Creation.
Once Vatuur had made it far enough along its original development, Exordium and the other Gods made the decision to inhabit the planet with mortal beings whose form reflected that of the Gods and their Celestial offspring. They'd be the foremost lifeforms on the planet, and would be the arbiters that, whether consciously or not, would further realize Exordium's dream.
Exordium's first attempt at sentient life on Vatuur was an utter failure, a species of soulless and emotionless husks that wandered without aim and died out fully within a short few solar months.
Exordium's second and third attempts were combined into a single effort as they were created at the same time and expected to share the planet. One race was the powerful and militaristic Kalyndrosick people of ancient Kalyndros, a race of ageless superhumans that valued perfection in all things that took all they needed and wanted for naught. The other was the Levolisian people of ancient Levolis, a powerless, mundane people of academia that aimed not to tame or control the world around them, but to understand it.
I, Authis, am one of the ageless Kalyndrosick. Though most of my brethren are long dead, their bones having rested beneath the dirt for tens of thousands of years, I remain. Even though my countless days are spent in the confines of an unbreakable cell, I remain.
In our youth, the Gods visited Vatuur often, and shared with us the knowledge that we could have used to tame even the stars, but weaker minds tainted with greed and gluttony could only selfishly plot while the rest dreamt of the most distant cosmos.
While Exordium's second and third attempts at sentient life on Vatuur will ultimately only ever be remembered as drastic failures, I remain. And so long as I remain, I will live and observe until this prison crumbles on top of me.
My final, perfect revenge.
