He is a fragment of Vaegros, born when the Time Devourer was slain. A failed echo, malformed, but burning with a single desire — to finish the Spiral, trapping all of time in a controlled, repeatable loop.
Kaien, now wielding VyrnFlare, leads a final assault on the fractured sky-city known as Glass Crown, where Revontis has opened a Rift Gate directly into the dying Nexus. Alongside Shiran, and with Zaiya's final words echoing in his heart, Kaien battles Rift-chimeras made from memories and time-ghosts.
But within the Nexus Core, Benizame — still alive in fragment — is fading. He is no longer strong enough to contain the Rift. The universe offers Kaien an impossible choice: Free Benizame and risk total collapse, or replace him, becoming the next Eternal Guardian.
