Chapter 1 - A sirens call

over 500,000 people kill themselves a year this could have been a story about one of those, but this is a story about a lucky one who did not become a statistic

If you are feeling suicidal or feel alone call a friend or family member it is never too late to reach out

Monday, Tuesday, July, august, fall, winter, they all feel the same, empty like I'm missing something in my life it feels as if I am standing inside a river of time, letting the water pass through me while I sit, wasting more than just my time, wasting my life, I feel as if sometime in that river I slipped, and have been drowning ever since yet due to the pressure, I feel as if I don't deserve to ask anyone to help me

I should make this damn feeling a reality

"NOLAN"

"Oh-uh what is wrong"

"WHAT IS WRONG?? IVE BEEN TALKING TO YOU FOR THE PAST 5 MINUTES, FUCKS SAKES NOLAN GET A GRIP"

"Sorry I just daydreamed"

"Well did u at least listen to what I was asking for earlier"

"Yes of course I'll think about buying it"

"What the fuck are you on, when I asked if u were listing, I meant today not a fucking year ago"

"Could you just repeat what you said"

"I asked if u took any notes, or are we both failing the shit ass test"

"t-there's a test"

"Do you like ever listen, or are the ears for show"

"s-sorry just a bit overwhelmed recently"

"Well then figure that shit out before you take a college course"

"Sorry Tim"

Tim face palms barely looking up at Nolan.

"don't fucking apologies just do better be better"

Tim says leaving as if in a hurry, yet Nolan knew Tim was not going anywhere but his home due to Tim being everything Nolan could never be. Calm, confident, easy-going, and never caring too much Tim and Nolan knew each other for too long to the point neither of them knew why they know each other but it didn't matter since they hung out all the time. Tim was tall, blond and had a face either puffy, or toned to the point Greek gods would be jealous it would depend on the month as if he were hibernating his good looks for summer

While Nolan was an average man nothing about him made him appealing but nothing made him distinctive or disgusting he just was there, he has hair as dark as a cooking pan his skin was always too pale compared to others like a vampire, but he wasn't hiding in the shadows to avoid the sun instead he was hiding in the shadow to avoid talking to others,

The town he lived in was a remote town, almost everyone knew everyone, yet not everyone liked each other, and every now and then you would find someone seemingly out of nowhere as if they were a ghost brought back to life,

But what was special about this small town was the fact that the bridge had a little section that was originally for the construction, left open yet now it is abandoned. And its Nolan's only place to relax he thought about it more than not and he honestly believed it. Would be the best place to end it all

So, he walked past cards driving passed speed limits and houses that seemed to just get older and older till he reached his destination

An old rickety bridge there was more rust on it than Nolan could have even imagined as he looked around, he saw his staircase he always took the stairs were wooden due to them never being finished and just being loose planks it felt as if the stairs could fall anytime, he carefully walked over them into the dark underpass he barely saw anything all he could see was the sunsets glow fading in front of his eyes looking as if the ocean was absorbing it

And as he climbed the tiny railing preparing to jump, he heard a "WAIT" it was a voice he never heard it was a voice of a girl, it felt like a voice of a siren he had to look back and see who it was the intrigue was killing him, as he turned around he hoped to see a familiar caring face but instead it was a random girl, she seemed just as tall as him having long brown hair wearing what could only be described as a skaters outfit

"You can't jump" she said as she was sitting in the corner barley even looking up from her phone

"And why so?" Nolan proclaimed with confusion since she clearly didn't care for his life

"Because then the police will investigate this place and shut it down"

"And how's that my problem"

"Well, it's my damn problem since this is where I hangout dickhead"

"fair" Nolan said as he began to walk away from this whole situation without a single thought in his brain to the point he couldn't even tell if the events that unfolded were even real he felt way to overwhelmed he had to other reaction but to begin walking up the stairs
