It must have taken me quite a few minutes for me to get off my high, dopamine having flooded my brain like an avalanche.
But as soon as it receded I focused back on the screen, quickly agreeing to roll.
And from what I had already knew from systems like this then it was that I had probably obtained a Gacha of some sort.
But in all my life I had never seen a Gacha be something useless even if you had normal luck.
[—Ding! You've Rolled Iron Ranked – Ladies Man[Trait] —A natural charm follows you and makes it easier for women to get interested in you romantically. Though, this is a multiplicate increase, if somebody would never be interested in you in any case, then this effect does not apply.]
[—System Note - You can now view your body's capabilities in the Status Page!]
Immediately as I read through my roll the remaining dopamine in my system immediately evaporated.
I mean really?
That was the thing that I obtained?
I mean I didn't mind it at face value but I was about to probably get mauled by a werewolf, I needed something to ensure that I survived! Not something that made it easier for me to get laid.
I couldn't get laid if I was dead after all!
Sighing to myself I returned back to reality, I looked around me and found that a many students were now looking out the door in worry and even taking videos.
From here I knew that shit would get out of hand.
So it was no surprise when a notification quickly hit my phone.
Following that, everyone in the bus suddenly found themselves obtaining a message from the school.
Looking through it I nodded as it was as I expected, school was cancelled.
" It's the school." Someone muttered behind us, Blake looked back before looking at me with a frown.
Seeing this I raised a brow, acting of course because I knew that she didn't own a phone." What?"
She hesitated only for a moment before replying." What does the text say?"
" You don't have a phone?" I asked, more so just to keep the conversation going again than not knowing.
" It's a thing, I don't own a phone." She replied quickly.
Shrugging and making sure to seem as unsurprised as possible which was easy due not caring in the first place, I replied to her a second later.
" Well, classes are cancelled, they are shutting down all the schools near the fire." I told her with a sigh.
She on the other hand simply slumped back on her chair before looking back at me, a spark in her eyes that was not there just moments before and as she seemingly was about to say something, someone shouted at the front of the bus.
" They are evacuating Alta Dina and Eagle Rock." A boy that I vaguely remembered said.
Quickly I saw Blake stand, her eyes widening just a bit." I live in Alta Dina."
And before long everyone was looking concerned.
" They are evacuating to be safe right?" An Asian girl asked, looking more worried than even Blake." That doesn't mean that our houses are actually burning down right?"
I nearly scoffed at that, she was trying really hard to lie to herself.
" If they are saying evacuate, then I'm pretty sure they are worried about shit burning down." The boy at the front continued, inconsiderate of anyone elses feelings.
Immediately I zoned out the chatter that ensued after, in order to focus on the girl looking at me and then to another girl I recognised as Phoebe.
Immediately I remembered what she was thinking, and not wanting to miss the chance I immediately pulled out my phone and handed it to her.
She looked a bit surprised at that as she hesitantly grabbed the phone, staring at me in curiosity.
" How did you know I needed the phone?" Blake asked.
" Call it instinct." I vaguely said with a shrugg, making sure to put the best smile on my face as possible.
She didn't seem to question it like any normal human would have though and quickly went to using it, texting her brother.
While she was doing that the boy in the front, looking panicky as fuck walked up to the bus driver, a lady.
" You need to open the door right now!" He said commandingly.
Not the best way to start a conversation, but then again I understood where he was coming from as he was probably just as scared as any of us, even though my fear stemmed from something much more different.
" If I open the door and let you all out in the streets I could lose my job." The lady said, a slight quivering vibration in her voice that immediately clued me in that she was probably just as scared.
But her worries were a bit on the wrong side.
" We could lose our lives, that kinda seems more important than your shitty minimum job!" The teen said, his camera pointed at the woman recording.
And as much as I wanted to disagree, he was right even though the manner he went about it was stupid and childish.
And at this point everyone was looking at the altercation, even Blake was looking over with a frown as she quickly handed me my phone and walked up slowly behind the boy.
" Can you stop recording me please!" The lady seeing the camera shouted, the situation and pressure allowing her anger to bubble up.
" Fuck no. This is evidence for my parents when they come and pull my dead body out of here!" He muttered angrily.
" I'm trying to do the right thing." The lady said already feeling the pressure.
And honestly I also understood her standing there, letting kids out in the middle of a wildfire did seem kinda stupid but dying here in this bus was also stupid.
So an impasse.
" So am I, which is why I'm posting this so people can see who killed a bus full of highschool students." He muttered before getting interrupted when Blake grabbed his phone out of his hand.
And with no hesitation she chucked the phone out of the open window, straight into the pavement. Surprised gasps echoed through the bus at that.
Me on the other hand? I was watching in curiosity, mostly wanting to see whether anything was different in this world.
After all, knowledge was power and it would allow me to prepare myself.
The teen looking at his phone with a wide mouth looked back at Blake, who looked at him straight in the eyes unflinching.
" What the fuck is your problem?!" The boy grumbled, more in disbelief than surprised.
Seeing Blake not reply he grumbled, walked up to the control dashboard of the bus and pressed the open button which immediately opened up the door.
" Wa-..." The bus lady was about to protest but seemingly already done with all this, she just shut up.
And just like that the drama queen of a teen walked out the door, even when some of the students shouted at him to not go out.
He walked up to his phone with a confident stride, walking around the bus while we all watched.
And just as he leaned down to grab his phone, we all heard it.
"*Multiple Animal Whines*"
Immediately everyone quitted down.
Our eyes staring straight at the fire a distance away from us licking at the trees.
And then in the burning inferno in the treelines came animals, horses, Rams, deers came through the forest. Some were burning as they ran, their fur making for a great environment for the fire to spread.
And then chaos ensured.
