Chapter 4 - Chapter 3- Kaelen

Arien's POV

"Hello, everyone — or more precisely... Earthlings."

The strange voice boomed across the entire area, unnaturally clear, as if it echoed inside our heads as much as through the air. People on rooftops, balconies, and anywhere with a view to the sky stirred, drawn by the sound. More and more began to appear — students, workers, residents — shaken out of their ignorance or denial, now unable to ignore the bizarre display unfolding before them. Curiosity, fear, disbelief — all of it pulled them forward.

Five seconds passed... ten... fifteen...

Okay, I wasn't actually counting — it's just a metaphor. But still, for a moment, everything fell into an awkward silence. I guess even interdimensional sky overlords get cold feet.

"Do you think he's waiting for a return greeting?" Tavira muttered beside us.

Huh.

That actually made more sense than whatever I was thinking. I mean, why would someone who willingly hovered ten feet above the ground be scared of a mere crowd? I can be. But that's a different story.

"Why not greet him back then?" Favi replied dryly. "I'm sure your voice will be heard. It usually is."

"Oh... HELLOOOO, OVERLORDS!!!", Tavira shouted at full volume, arms stretched to the sky like she was summoning thunder. We both flinched.

"You duffer!" I snapped.

"Seriously? At least next time give a warning!", Favi groaned. "I have every intention of arriving in the afterlife with both eardrums intact."

Before we could say anything else, the voice from above echoed again — smoother now, almost amused.

"Thank you... thank you very much for interacting. It's good to see you greeting us back like that. I was waiting for it."

Wow.

Tavira and him were apparently on the same wavelength. The figure paused for a moment, then continued — his tone dipping into something almost... apologetic.

"I'm sure everyone is a little creeped out right now. But as you might've guessed... your world is heading toward its end."

There was a beat of silence.

"Captain Obvious," Favi whispered beside me, deadpan.

Before I could respond, a new voice rang out — loud, urgent, crackling through what sounded like a speaker.

"SIR! WHAT DO YOU MEAN? AND WHO ARE YOU?", It came from one of the glowing specks orbiting One. The voice was different — human, panicked. Not the same calm, eerie tone we'd heard earlier.

Wait... who just spoke? That was definitely a human voice.

"It's a police authority," someone near me murmured. "From another country, I think."

Another student, holding up their phone, added, "The same vision is showing up in open spaces all over the world. Look at this livestream—this streamer is recording the exact same thing." All around me, students were murmuring, their voices overlapping. It made sense, honestly. The whole world was at a standstill — just like us. So this guy — this being — he wasn't talking only to us. His message was being broadcast to the entire planet. Also... calling him One was starting to get exhausting.

Suddenly, a burst of noise exploded from all the glowing specks orbiting him — a static storm of voices and overlapping signals. We all winced, some covering our ears, but just as quickly as it came, the chaos fell silent again.

"Oh... my name is Kaelen," the figure said, voice calm — almost bored. "And this is the Saurus Organization, responding to a world emergency. It seems you've mistaken me for someone here to answer a hundred of your questions. But sorry to disappoint — neither I, nor the members of this organization, are here to spoon-feed you every mystery."

His tone shifted — not angry, just matter-of-fact.

"We're only here to deliver a set of announcements, as per protocol. The Saurus Organization exists to harmonize parallel worlds when fragments of power are granted to ordinary beings during end-of-world events. Our role is to identify, guide, and train those individuals in hopes of bringing their world back on a path that doesn't end in complete collapse."

At that moment, another figure stepped forward. After a few erratic, flickering movements beneath the robes he spoke. Let's call this one Two.

"As just stated, the individuals granted such powers — known as Garriors — are entered into this organization for monitoring purposes. All services and rescues performed by a Garrior must be confined strictly to their own world. Interfering with events in other worlds is strictly forbidden to maintain interworld balance."

A few heads turned among the students around me, and murmurs started to rise.

"Furthermore," Two continued, "Garriors who go astray — whether through corruption or loss of control — are to be confined and executed without delay. These actions are carried out in specially supported dungeons constructed within their own world, to ensure they cannot be used or manipulated by external forces."

There was a brief silence — the kind that stretched just long enough to make your heart race.

Then Kaelen spoke again.

"I think it is time to identify the Garriors." His voice was calm, but the words landed like thunder. "Once they emerge, we will categorize them based on the type and level of mana flowing into their bodies. This will help us structure a dedicated Saurus sub-squad assigned to your world."

A pause.

"We will return tomorrow to begin the binding of the Garriors. Until then... process as much as you can."

And just like that — The strange figures dissolved into mist. The open ground returned to its normal state — no abyss, no orbiting lights, no spiraling steps. Just flat earth and silence. The night sky settled back above us, calm and familiar, as if nothing had happened.

Everything in the world... returned to normal.
