The air in the Sacred Pearl's chamber was heavy with silence—golden, soft, and scented faintly of moonblossom. Evelyne lay against Kael's chest, her silver hair cascading over his shoulder like a curtain of silk. He held her gently, their bodies bare beneath thin sheets of radiant energy that pulsed in rhythm with the chamber's divine breath.
Her fingers traced lazy circles over the scars on his chest.
"You're always so tense, even after all that," she murmured, eyes half-lidded in afterglow.
Kael smiled faintly, turning to kiss her forehead. "Guess part of me never learned to stop fighting."
"You can, here. With me." Her voice was barely a whisper, but it melted something deep within him.
They lay together like that for a while—no titles, no destiny. Just Kael and Evelyne. Lovers. Partners. Equal flames in the dark.

He looked at her. "Anything."
"Let the others grow too. Let them feel this peace… even for a day."
Kael held her tighter. "I will. They've followed me through exile, through fire. Now I'll give them a place where they can rise."
Above them, distant roars echoed in the unseen skies.
The Cradle of Ash was awakening.
