The scene opens with the king sitting on his throne looking sad and worn out. Speaking to him self like a man who went crazy on an early morning .
King : god's of our land ,where exactly have I gone wrong it has been nine years of marriage but I still have no issue to take over the throne When I join my ancestors. Hmmm (then as the king ponderes in his deep taught his head chiefs which the Igbos call the onowu steps in )
Onowu: Greetings your majesty (the onowu greets the king )
King : my head chief you are welcome
Onowu (head chief): Thank you your highness (he responds ) your highness this one you are sad what is the problem cause I have never seen you like this before
King : hmmm my head chief I am indeed troubled what have I done to deserve this punishment from the god's
Onowu : your highness I still don't understand what you are talking about
King : onowu I'm getting old as the day goes by and if I die tomorrow I have no one to take after me will my name end with mee chai (shouts ) abomination .
Onowu: hmm your highness don't worry the god's will give you a successor. I know they will , I believe the god's sees your heart and hears your cries .
King : hmm I need to speak with the eyes of the god's ( in Igbo ezemmuo). Then the king calls one of his guards to get him the chief priest .
