Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Storming Night

On a storming night, it was raining heavily, like the wealther was in a battlefield against universe.

As the rain water effortlessly drops down from the sky, the atmosphere was as cold as the sea the water, reading to froze the heart of anyone who dares to step in.

I put on a black hoodie, leaning against the front door frame of my house. Observing the cold atmosphere, with a wide eyes and curiosity.

But suddenly, I heard my name echoed from the inside of my house

"Riana, Riana!"

I sharply recognize those voice from anywhere, even from a distance. That voice belongs to no other than...

My Mom.

I quietly rushed inside, but only to stumbled upon on a scene of my mom, struggling to lift a bucket of water to the kitchen, but due to her condition of permanent lost of sight, she couldn't.

I quickly dash forward and took the bucket of water from her, stoping her from struggling any further.

"Mom, for the love of God, you shouldn't be lifting heavy things while you can't see" I protest, but with a concerned tune.

Mom let out a soft sigh "I know, I know, but I was just trying to help out" she reported.

For some reason, her words made my heart ache in silent pain, knowing the fact I couldn't do anything help with her Permeant blindness.

I put down the bucket of water and quickly pulled into my arms in a affectionate hug, trying to soothing her worries.

"Don't worry, your daughter is here by your side to takecare of everything, especially you and dad too" I murmuredly reassured her between the embrace.

After reassuring her, unexpectedly, Dad presently came down from downstairs from his room. He carefully support himself with his crunches, due to a one leg permanent limp.

"They you're" Dad called to me softly, while heading towards us.

I broke the embrace with Mom, before looking both at my parents. I came to a wonders, why wasn't my parents asleep yet?

"Mom, Dad, why ain't you guys in bed resting?" I asked, Abit annoyed by their stubbornness.

Dad responded softly "I and your Mother were worried and couldn't find you inside the house"

My gaze soften at his response and slowly let out a deep sigh

"I was just taking some Fresh air outside. But I suggest you both should head to bed now, it's getting cold"

With that, I helped my parents upstairs back to their room, before laying them both in their bed and tucked them in.

I stood close to the door frame, watching them as they quietly fell asleep.

For some reason, looking at my parents conditions reminds me of the accident that we had and took place six years ago.

But in my own theory, I felt like it was yesterday.

On January 17, 2019, Monday Morning, it was a priceless beautiful Sunnyday. The sunrise, giving the earth a beautiful atmosphere, waking the lives of every living being in their homes.

That day, I and my parents were heading back in my Dad's care after visiting my grandma from a monthly vacation.

Everything was going peacefully, not until the Fate of the universe took it's cors in such a unbelievable state.

A truck, close to my dad's car, took a terrible sharp turn for some reason, hitting my Dad's car in a loud powerful bang.

My Dad's car uncontrollably stumbled rapidly, rolling over into the air like it was a action movie, but next, it ended up in a near by bush.

Car disrupted, shattered glasses, uncontrollable smoke filling the air, and what's more worse, innocent lives on the life.

When I finally regained consciousness, my gaze trembled uncontrollably in horror, seeing my parents unconscious and badly injured.

My little heart as a kid, beat rapidly non stop and felt like it was about to burst in no time.

But what happened next, was a loud cry from an innocent child, about to see

the lives of her parents to be taken away by an unexpected visitor known as...Death.

Luckily, Some travellers who was traveling by, stumbled upon the scene and immediately too actions.

They Immediately took me and my parents to their car and quickly took us to the hospital.

Arriving at the hospital, the nurses urgently place my parents in hospital beds and Immediately took them into the operating room, leaving me and the travellers standing behind with worries and disbelief.

I was about to survive any physical injuries, but right now, my parents was the ones battling for their lives not to be taken away.

At the scene, my sanity wasn't concerned about my own well-being, but was concerned if my parents would fight for their lives against death...even if it's just for my sake.

I and travellers sat by, waiting with anticipation for over two hour, Hoping for the doctor to come out soon to give us some news.

After a while, what felt enternity, the doctor finally exit the operating room.

Without thinking twice, I dashed from my seat and made my way towards him with an uncontrollable tears flowing non stop in my innocent eyes.

I asked the doctor about my parents well being, hoping they would be okay.

The travellers, who stood behind watching the scene, couldn't help but feel sympathy towards me, knowing the fact I was just a little girl.

The doctor patiently look at me in the eyes, hesitating if he should inform me or not.

For some reason, he explained to me that I won't be able to understand my parents current state due to my young age of inexperienced.

I wiped those sorrowful tears of mine and explained to him.

"Sir...my mom use to say to me...that no matter what the situation is, I should never allow anyone to overpower me despite my age...sub...sub..."

The doctor was stunned by such a response from me at such a young age. He could only imagine such a young, naive child of me going through so much.

He took his time to let out heavy sigh and explained softly

"Your mother's current state has lead to a permanent condition. She lost her sight due to the broken pieces of glass of the car windows"

"As for your father, his certain condition shows to be permanent limp, but thank goodness one of his legs was able to withstand it. As for the other one... it's currently beyond withstanding, meaning he won't be able to walk properly.... permanently"

Those words made my ears echoed in my ear drums in silence, sending multiple shivers down my spines and leaving me speechless.

Few days later, my parents was finally discharged from the hospital. The travellers offers to pay my parents hospital bills and drive us home.

I appreciate and thank them for all their good deeds, wishing them safe journey on their trip as they finally left.

As for my Dad's damaged car, we sold some part that was still useful in order to survive.

Since then, that's how my life turned to a chapter of unpredictable hardship.

I was my parents only hope in life, only child, only tred fate that they can hold on to till their last breath.

But as long we had each other, I won't minf flipping to any chapters of hardships and unpredictable fate.

I let out a quiet sigh, getting tired from Standing that long while watching my parents sleep peacefully.

I stepped out of their room, closing the door behind and head to my own room for some sleep as well
